#summerbeachnights There is a specific kind of magic that settles over Cancun the moment the harsh afternoon sun dips below the horizon, letting the humid summer air soften into a gentle, warm sea breeze. I remember sitting by the shore as the sky transformed into shades of violet and pale orange, watching the resort lights flicker to life along the coastline. During the daytime, Cancun is all about bright turquoise waves and energetic beach clubs, but when night falls, everything feels much more relaxed and atmospheric. Walking barefoot along the cool sand with the sound of the ocean breaking just feet away, sipping on a fresh tropical drink under lit palm trees, I realized that these quiet summer evenings are where the real charm lies. Later in the evening, I wandered over toward the lively Hotel Zone to experience the nightlife scene firsthand. If you want something fun and colorful, grabbing giant yard drinks at places like Señor Frog's or listening to live music near Punta Cancun is an absolute must. For a slightly more upscale evening, strolling around La Isla Shopping Village under the glowing palms and luxury storefronts like Dior gave the night such a sleek, modern coastal energy. I ended up having an amazing candlelit dinner right on the sand, indulging in fresh grilled lobster and pasta with a glass of chilled wine while listening to the tide. Sitting under a thatched palapa with the ocean darkness stretching out before me was easily one of the highlights of the whole trip. If you are planning your own summer trip, budgeting properly will make your money go a lot further. Expect to spend around $70 to $120 USD per day for a comfortable mix of mid-range dining and local activities. To keep costs reasonable, take the local R1 or R2 bus along the Hotel Zone for only about 12 pesos (less than $1 USD) instead of expensive taxis. For food, balance beachfront dinners with local taco spots in Downtown Cancun near Parque Las Palapas, where you can eat delicious tacos for under $10 USD total. During the day, take a ferry over to Isla Mujeres for a calm beach day, or book an ATV jungle trail ride before returning to the beach for sunset. My biggest local tip is to skip the expensive private beach clubs at night and simply head to public spots like Playa Delfines for a peaceful, budget-friendly night walk under the stars. #hashtags #Cancun #Mexico #CancunNights #SummerVibes #TravelMexico #BeachNights #BudgetTravel #Wanderlust #OceanBreeze #CancunLife

In Tulum, Mexico, SFER IK @sferik.art takes "biophilic design" to a whole new level across two stunning locations: 🍀SFER IK Tulum Located in the heart of the bustling Hotel Zone, this is the perfect introduction to their signature vine-woven architecture. 🍀SFER IK Uh May Tucked away in the Mayan jungle, featuring breathtaking aerial rattan bridges and pools—the visual impact is incredible! If you're short on time, I personally highly recommend taking a private car straight to "Uh May" to fully soak in its beauty. One special rule: you must go barefoot!!! Feeling the warmth of the wood beneath your feet while watching sunlight filter through the woven vines creates a sense of perfect harmony with nature. It gave me so much fresh aesthetic inspiration and felt incredibly relaxing. • Pro-tips: The indoor air conditioning is quite weak. I suggest wearing light, breathable clothes! (It’s a true natural experience, haha)

Fall in love with the charm of the Mexican capital, from its historic center and magnificent architecture. 🌮 Savor authentic tacos, stroll through the Roma–Condesa neighborhoods, 🎨 and admire world-class art and museums before heading out to experience the awe-inspiring Teotihuacán pyramids. ✈️ Plan your Mexico City getaway and book flights and accommodation on Trip.com.

#bucketlistdestinations Driving down Baja California Sur in Mexico, you aren’t expecting a white desert. The Vizcaino Desert is home to the Guerrero Negro salt flats, the largest salt production facility in the world. I wasn't there for the production; I was there for the "Causeway" that leads into the flat, salty expanse. I was driving from Guerrero Negro towards the lagoon when I saw the blinding white reflection. I pulled over (carefully, as it’s a highway). There is no admission fee here; you simply park on the shoulder and walk. The salt is piled up like snowdrifts. My observation is about perception. It was 6 PM, and the sun was directly in my eyes. I wore polarized sunglasses; I cannot stress how crucial that is. The glare is so intense it can give you a headache. I brought a small collapsible shovel to dig a bit into the salt crust—it is hard as concrete. The "Gobi" aspect here is the absolute barrenness. There are no plants, no birds, just white and sky. The silence is deafening. I was approached by a local worker who spoke Spanish. He warned me about the water—don't drink it. The water that pools in the flats is brine. He also advised me to check my shoes before getting back into the car; salt is corrosive. I brushed off the crystals and cleaned my boots with a brush. For payments in the town of Guerrero Negro, Mexican pesos are preferred, but they take US dollars at a poor exchange rate. I recommend taking the road towards the pier. The road is unpaved and bumpy; 4x4 is recommended. At dusk, the salt turns a pale lavender. It is otherworldly. It feels like being on another planet, an alien Gobi landscape. I spent a solid hour just watching the colors change from white to pink to deep blue.

Located in the heart of Mexico City’s Centro Histórico, Casa de los Azulejos (The House of Tiles) is a stunning 18th-century Baroque palace that demands attention. Its facade, draped in exquisite blue-and-white Talavera tiles from Puebla, stands as a unique masterpiece amidst the city's hustle. Since 1919, this historic gem has housed the flagship restaurant and store of the famous Mexican chain, Sanborns, offering visitors a rare chance to dine within a living piece of history. Whether you're stopping by for a full meal or just to admire the architecture, stepping into this former aristocratic courtyard feels like a romantic trip back in time. 🏛️ The Legend of the Palace The palace's history dates back to the late 16th century, originally serving as the opulent home of the Counts of the Valley of Orizaba. Local legends surround the origin of its tiled exterior. In 1919, brothers Walter and Frank Sanborn from California acquired the property, transforming their pharmacy and soda fountain into the multi-functional department store and restaurant that remains a Mexican icon today. Dining at the House of Tiles is a visual and historical feast. · Best Seat in the House: Head straight for the central courtyard (Patio) on the ground floor. Dining under the magnificent stained-glass ceiling, surrounded by Moorish columns and the sounds of a live pianist or violinist, is the definitive experience. Avoiding the plain upstairs rooms is key to getting the full palace vibe. · What to Order: The menu features accessible Mexican staples. The signature dish is the Enchiladas Suizas—creamy, cheesy, and smothered in green sauce. Pair it with a classic Hot Chocolate or Mexican Coffee (Americano/Cappuccino) and some traditional Pan Dulce (sweet bread). · Honest Take: Expect to spend about 200–300 MXN per person. While Sanborns is a casual chain and the food is more "comfort food" than "gourmet," the unparalleled atmosphere and live music make every peso worth it! 📸 Hidden Gems (Don't Miss These!) Even if you aren't eating, you can explore the building for free. Here are two highlights: Masterpiece Mural: Walk up the grand staircase toward the second floor (near the restrooms) to find "Omnisciencia," a massive 1925 mural by the legendary José Clemente Orozco. The "Divine" Restrooms: It sounds odd, but the restroom area on the second floor is a destination in itself. With its lavish tiles and ornate lighting, it’s often called the most beautiful restroom in the city center. 💡 Travel Tips & How to Avoid the Crowds · Opening Hours: 07:00 AM – 01:00 AM daily. It’s a rare late-night spot in the historic center, perfect for a midnight cocoa. · Best Photo Op: Arrive before 9:00 AM for the best light on the tiles and to avoid the Madero Street crowds. By 10:00 AM, tour groups arrive, and patio wait times can hit 30+ minutes. · Getting There: Located on the Madero pedestrian street. Take Metro Line 2 or 8 to Bellas Artes; it’s just a 3-minute walk from there. · Nearby Stops: Just steps away from the golden Palacio de Bellas Artes and the stunning Art Deco Postal Palace (Palacio Postal), making it a perfect anchor for your walking tour.

Everyone told me I had to brace myself for an overwhelming wall of cruise ship crowds, hyper-commercialized souvenir shops, and blistering tourist traps packed tightly around the Caribbean coast, so I prepared myself for an exhausting resort-town circus. But the moment I caught an early flight inland, slipped away from the coastal heat, and wandered quietly through the pastel-tinted neoclassical streets of Mérida's historic center at dawn while local bakers unloaded fresh pastries and church bells echoed across empty plazas without a single tour guide shouting in my ear, the true, vibrant, and timeless heart of the Yucatán hit me like a physical breath. Standing before those grand stone mansions bathed in soft morning light in absolute tranquility felt less like standard sightseeing and more like stepping straight into a living, colonial storybook. 🏛️✨ . 📅 What I experienced · Escaping the Coastal Hustle: Walking the peaceful, shaded sidewalks of Paseo de Montejo as morning vendors set up their wooden stalls far away from the beach resort noise. · Catching the Sunrise on Plaza Grande: Watching the first golden rays illuminate the historic San Ildefonso Cathedral, the oldest cathedral on the American mainland, in complete morning solitude. · Exploring Hidden Neighborhood Parks: Wandering through the quiet, leafy squares of Barrio de Santiago and Santa Ana where local residents gather under giant laurel trees to escape the midday heat. . 🏨 Where I stayed · I stayed in a charming, beautifully restored colonial boutique hotel featuring high timber ceilings and a central open-air courtyard with a cooling plunge pool. Waking up to the soft rustle of banana palms and the sweet scent of tropical flowers felt grounded and deeply authentic. 🛏️☕ . 🍴 My culinary highlights · Yucatecan gastronomy is an exquisite blend of ancient Mayan traditions and bold Spanish flavors. I sat at a modest open-air market stall and savored slow-roasted *cochinita pibil* (pork marinated in achiote and sour orange, wrapped in banana leaves and baked to tender perfection), served with pickled red onions and warm, hand-pressed corn tortillas. 🌮🌶️ . 📌 My tips for visiting · Start Your Exploring at Dawn: The temperature and humidity in the Yucatán rise rapidly by midday, making early morning the absolute best and most comfortable time to explore the city on foot. · Venture Out to Remote Cenotes: Skip the crowded tourist cenotes right next to major highways and rent a car to find quiet, subterranean limestone sinkholes hidden deep in the surrounding jungle. · Stay in the Historic Center: Choosing a boutique hotel right in the historic core lets you walk everywhere safely and experience the authentic evening street life (*Noche Mexicana*) without relying on taxis. 📸🎒 . #Merida #Yucatan #MexicoTravel #IntimateTravel #HiddenGems #ColonialCity #TravelDeep #BucketList #ExploreMexico #TravelDiaries

Located in the “Yellow City” of Izamal on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, the Kinich Kakmó Pyramid is one of the most massive structures of the Mayan civilization. Unlike the crowded Chichén Itzá where climbing is prohibited, the greatest draw of Kinich Kakmó is that it remains one of the few Mayan pyramids in Mexico where visitors can still climb to the summit for free. I. A Detailed Look at the Kinich Kakmó Pyramid · Origin of the Name and Divine Incarnation: In the Mayan language, Kinich Kakmó means “Solar-Faced Fire Macaw.” The Maya believed that at high noon, the Sun God would descend in the form of a fiery red macaw to consume offerings, bringing with him intense heat and drought. · Massive Architectural Scale: Built during the Mayan Classic Period (between 400 and 700 AD), its base is exceptionally grand, measuring 200 meters long by 180 meters wide. With a total volume of 700,000 cubic meters, it is one of the largest prehistoric structures in all of Mexico. The pyramid stands approximately 35 meters high (10 levels total) and is constructed from massive stone blocks. · Unique Two-Tiered Structure: Upon arrival, you will notice the pyramid is divided into two sections. The lower level is a vast platform base now covered in lush greenery; after walking through the trees on this platform, the second-tier main pyramid rises dramatically into view. This “pyramid on top of a platform” design is quite rare. · A Survivor of History: During the Spanish colonial era, most of the Mayan pyramids in the town were dismantled to provide stone for colonial-style churches and monasteries. Kinich Kakmó survived simply because it was too massive to tear down, making it the most well-preserved ancient monument in town. II. The Latest Transportation Guide Kinich Kakmó is located just north of the Izamal town center, a mere 5 to 10-minute walk from the main square. Here are the best ways to reach Izamal: From Mérida (Most Recommended and Convenient) · Public Bus: Head to the Terminal Noreste in downtown Mérida (near the intersection of Calle 67 and 50). Take an Autobuses Oriente or Noreste Yucatán bus. They depart every 1 to 2 hours during the day. A one-way ticket costs about $40 - $55 MXN, and the journey takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. · Driving: Take Federal Highway 180 from Mérida and connect to Highway 11. The drive takes about 1 hour on well-maintained roads. Street parking is available around the town's main attractions. From Cancún or Tulum · ADO Bus: Long-distance buses run directly from Cancún to Izamal, with a travel time of about 3 to 3.5 hours. · Guided Day Tours: If you prefer not to handle the logistics, you can book a “Chichén Itzá + Cenote + Izamal Yellow City” day tour from Cancún or Mérida, which typically includes time to explore this pyramid.

Izamal, Mexico’s famous "Yellow Magic Town," is a "City of Three Cultures" that perfectly blends Mayan ruins with Spanish colonial architecture. Every building in town is painted a bright sun-yellow, creating a striking visual impact under the sun and making it one of the most photogenic destinations on the Yucatán Peninsula. 🗺️ Top Sights & Activity Guide 1. Convento de San Antonio de Padua — The Main Highlight · Highlight: Built on the foundation of a Mayan pyramid, this yellow convent boasts the second-largest closed atrium in the Western Hemisphere (second only to the Vatican). Photo Angles:• Step into the massive atrium and use the golden arches that stretch into the distance as a backdrop for geometric, high-fashion shots. · In the evening, the low-angled sunlight turns the entire monastery a shimmering gold, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Admission: Free (except for some special exhibitions or night light shows) 2. Vintage Horse-Drawn Carriage (Coche de Caballos) Experience · How to ride: Right next to the main square in the city center (Parque Izamal / Plaza Principal), you’ll see rows of brightly decorated traditional carriages waiting for passengers. · Price: Approximately 300 to 450 Mexican Pesos (MXN) per carriage, which can hold 2–4 people. · Duration: About 45 minutes. · Route: The driver will take you through the golden cobblestone streets, passing by Capilla de los Remedios (a small chapel), the old train station, and the town's Mayan ruins, eventually looping back to the main square. Drivers usually provide a brief guided tour. · Photo Tip: While riding, have a companion take a dynamic shot of the carriage passing the yellow walls from a street corner for a vintage, exotic feel. 3. Side Trip: Kinich Kakmó Pyramid (Pirámide Kinich Kakmó) · Located just a 5-10 minute walk from the main square, it is the largest Mayan pyramid in town. · It is completely free to enter and allows climbing. From the top, you get a 360-degree panoramic view of the yellow town and the surrounding lush green jungle—an incredible sight. 🚌 Travel Guide: How to Get to Izamal Izamal is located about 70 km northeast of Mérida, the capital of Yucatán. A day trip from Mérida is the most convenient way to visit. Method 1: Highly Recommended! Take a Second-Class Bus (Segunda Clase) — Best Value & Direct to City Center Since ADO first-class buses no longer have direct routes to the Izamal city center, second-class buses are the primary option. · Departure Station: Go to Terminal Noreste (near the intersection of Calle 67 and 50) or Terminal Oriente in downtown Mérida. · Bus Companies: Autobuses Oriente or Noreste Yucatán. · Schedule & Fare: Buses run every 1 to 2 hours during the day. A one-way ticket is about $40 - $55 MXN (very affordable). · Travel Time: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (with stops at small towns along the way). · Arrival: You will arrive directly at the bus station in the heart of Izamal. The yellow convent is just a 2-minute walk away. It’s recommended to take a photo of the return schedule at the window when you arrive. Method 2: Most Flexible! Car Rental or Guided Tour · Self-Driving: Take Federal Highway 180 from Mérida and connect to Highway 11. The drive takes about 1 hour. Road conditions are good, and you can find street parking near the attractions. 💡 Pro Travel Tips · Best Time to Visit: It’s best to visit in the morning (before 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM). Midday in the Yucatán Peninsula is extremely hot with harsh sunlight, which can actually make it harder to capture the warm, soft texture of the yellow buildings. · What to Wear: Highly recommend wearing white, blue, or other bright, contrasting colors. Against the all-yellow town, white or solid-colored outfits stand out the most, making your photos look instantly professional.

Teotihuacán: A Journey Through a Millennium of Civilization Located in San Juan Teotihuacán, Mexico, this ancient city is one of the most significant and largest archaeological sites in Mesoamerica. Head straight to the Pyramid of the Sun first to enjoy the vast, quiet space and experience the awe-inspiring scale of the structure. Last entry is at 4:30 PM, so we recommend dedicating at least half a day for a thorough visit. · The pyramid steps are steep and high; take your time climbing. If you feel dizzy, do not overexert yourself. · The high-altitude sun is very strong. Remember to apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and carry plenty of water. · Climbing is prohibited in certain areas; please follow all park signage and crowd control measures. · Restrooms and snack stalls are available near the entrance; remember to bring small change in cash. ⚠️ Important Notes: · Drones and large luggage are not allowed inside the site. · To protect the ruins, some areas are for viewing only. Please do not touch or climb on non-designated structures. · Sudden rain can occur during the summer (May–October), so bring a light raincoat just in case. The ancient city of San Juan Teotihuacán and its thousand-year-old pyramids are the top choice for experiencing the mysteries of Mesoamerica's past. We suggest arranging transportation in advance (public bus or private charter) to enjoy the most authentic historical atmosphere.

It’s just like the world of Disney’s "Coco"! I traveled to Oaxaca in southern Mexico for the traditional "Day of the Dead" (Día de Muertos) celebrations 🇲🇽✨. The entire city is covered in orange marigolds and festive flags, and the sight of music and laughter echoing all through the night is absolutely breathtaking! 🌼 Where is the excitement happening? While the entire historic center of Oaxaca gets into the festival spirit, the energy is highest in these main areas: · The plaza in front of the Temple of Santo Domingo (Templo de Santo Domingo) · The Zócalo (Main Square) · The pedestrian street connecting the two: "Macedonio Alcalá Street" (Andador Turístico) On this street, you’ll find non-stop brass band performances and grand parades—just walking around is incredibly thrilling! The weather in Oaxaca during this season was perfect—warm from day to night, so I didn't even need a jacket all day. 🎨 Makeup & Costume Hacks (Bring Cash!) If you're walking the streets, I highly recommend joining in with skeleton (Catrina) makeup and traditional clothing! · Skeleton Makeup: You’ll find many makeup booths set up along the sidewalks. The standard rate is about 200 pesos (plus extra for elaborate stones/gems). You can show them a picture from social media or choose from their catalog. It gets extremely crowded from afternoon to evening, so getting it done [early in the morning] is your best bet! ⚠️ Note: Removing the makeup at night is quite a task, so bringing oil-based cleanser and moisturizing well before and after is a must! · Headbands & Costumes: Flower crowns are cheap and easy to find at street stalls. Beautifully embroidered traditional dresses are also widely available. I spent a bit more—over 1,000 pesos—on a dress I really liked, but there are plenty of more affordable options too. Street stalls are cash-only, so don't forget to have pesos ready! 🕯️ A New Perspective on Cemeteries! Stunning Visits & Essential Etiquette At night, we visited the cemeteries (panteones), which were magically lit by countless candles and decorated with marigold petals. Families gather around the graves, sharing the favorite foods and drinks of their loved ones while talking peacefully. It’s a "warm, love-filled space" completely different from how we view cemetery visits in Japan—it changed my whole perspective on cemeteries. ⚠️ Important Etiquette: While tourists are welcomed warmly, remember that this is a "sacred space for families to remember their loved ones and celebrate their return." Please be respectful and observe quietly. 💀 Stay Safe! Keep a close eye on your belongings. As the parades wind down late at night, the atmosphere can shift. It's best to head back once the crowds start to thin out. 🏨 For those going next year: Booking your stay "between now and early summer" is mandatory! Oaxaca during Day of the Dead draws tourists from all over the world, and the competition for hotels is intense. If you wait until the last minute, everything will either be fully booked or prices will skyrocket to several times their usual rate! I booked mine right at the beginning of the year. If you're thinking of going next year, I strongly recommend looking now—or at the latest, securing a spot by "summer"! 🥹 ✈️ Travel Tips from Japan There are no direct flights from Japan, so going via Mexico City (or major U.S. cities) is standard. It’s about 12–13 hours from Narita to Mexico City, then a domestic flight of about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Total travel time, including layovers, is roughly 17–22 hours! It was so wonderful that I’m going again this year! It’s a spot I truly hope everyone visits at least once in their life! 🌵 📍Oaxaca

Cobá - The Spirit of Jungle Adventure: Pyramid of Nohoch Mul (42 meters): One of the tallest ancient structures in the region, hidden in the dense tropics. Logistics tip: The area is huge, so rent a bike (~60 pesos) or hire a Mayan taxi with a driver at the entrance. Entrance: 95 pesos ($5.50). The park closes at 4:00 PM. 3. Tulum – a pyramid overlooking the Caribbean Sea: El Castillo over the cliff: The only major Mayan city built directly on a cliff overlooking the turquoise ocean. Tip: Arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. Here’s the bottom line: if you don’t do your homework, you’ll seriously regret it❗️ But if you play it right—this place is like Coco come to life, so vivid it shakes your soul🌺 · -- My hard-learned lessons (warnings first, then recommendations) ❌ Don’t expect to see the whole country in five days. Mexico is huge! It’s a 3-hour flight from Cancun to Mexico City. Pick one area and explore it deeply. ❌ Don’t rely only on English. Spanish is key (download a translation app!). Many street vendors only accept cash pesos. ❌ Don’t wear flip-flops at pyramid sites. Rocky paths plus blazing sun = torture for your feet. Buy biodegradable organic sunscreen—some water activities have strict environmental rules. ❌ Most museums are closed on Mondays! Schedule the National Museum of Anthropology from Tuesday to Sunday or you’ll waste a trip. · -- ✅ Copy-paste five-day must-do itinerary (using Mexico City + Guanajuato as an example) Day 1️⃣ Constitution Square → Metropolitan Cathedral → Templo Mayor ruins → National Museum of Anthropology (top museum in the Americas, allow 4 hours!) Day 2️⃣ Teotihuacan ancient city → Sun Pyramid + Moon Pyramid (arrive at 7 AM to beat the midday heat and crowds) Day 3️⃣ Bus to Guanajuato → Pipila lookout at sunset (the real-life inspiration for Coco’s Land of the Dead, colorful houses blanket the valley, the perfect moment!) Day 4️⃣ Alley of the Kiss → Juarez Theater → Mummy Museum → evening lookout for night lights Day 5️⃣ Day trip to San Miguel de Allende (baroque churches + art studios) → return trip · -- 🌟 Highlights you can’t miss 🏛️ Teotihuacan sun and moon pyramids: climb to the top of the sun pyramid. The wind is strong enough to blow your hat away, but the view down the “Avenue of the Dead” will give you goosebumps. 🎨 Guanajuato panorama: Pipila lookout is the soul spot—pink, yellow, and blue houses look like a spilled paint palette. After sunset, the twinkling lights are so romantic they’ll bring tears. 💧 Natural cenotes: a must in the Yucatan! The ancient Maya king’s “private pool.” The moment you dive in is pure refreshment, with sunlight streaming through the cave like a spotlight. · -- 🌮 Food hits and misses ❤️ Must-try: · Taco al Pastor: street stalls beat restaurants! Pick the busiest stall. The meat sizzles on the grill, paired with pineapple and lime—one bite and you’re hooked · Oaxaca mole negro: a magical mix of chocolate and chili, served with chicken and rice, layers of flavor · Mezcal: wilder than tequila, smoky flavor hits your headspace. Drink it neat, no shots 🖤 Avoid: · Don’t drown your food in hot sauce right away! Test a drop on your hand first. Mexican chili heat can burn your stomach. · Restaurant water is expensive. Soda or bottled water is cheaper. Tip 10%–15% at restaurants, no tip for street stalls. · -- 📌 Survival tips 🌦️ Dry season (Nov–Apr) is the best time, plenty of sun and little rain. Avoid coastal areas in the rainy season (May–Oct). 💊 Bring stomach medicine and mosquito repellent (tropical mosquitoes are relentless). Also pack cold medicine. Mexico City is 2,200+ meters high; don’t overexert yourself on day one to avoid altitude sickness. 🔌 Bring a US plug adapter. Most hotels don’t provide toothbrushes or slippers. 🚗 Use Uber for taxis—cheaper and safer than street taxis. Be cautious renting cars from small companies; they often force expensive insurance. · -- Finally, from the heart Mexico isn’t a “refined Instagram travel spot.” It’s intense, chaotic, and colorful. On day one, jet lag and altitude had me cursing. By day four, I was crying watching the sunset at Pipila. If you just want to lounge on an island, go to Cancun. But if you want to explore Aztec ruins, get lost in marigold seas during Day of the Dead, or chase the best taco across three streets—this guide will save you 90% of the trouble. It’s been a week since I got back, and I still taste the sweet afterglow of mezcal and see the sunset over colorful houses. Ladies, do your homework and just go. It’s worth it❤️

"Don't bother with Mexico right now..." That's exactly what a travel agent I know told me. But it was too late—the tickets were bought, the route was planned, and there was no turning back. Yes, indeed, Russians are treated more carefully at the Mexican border than before. But that doesn't mean you'll be turned away automatically. The main thing is to be prepared to answer questions and confirm the purpose of your trip. I've been to both Mexico City and Cancun. Personally, I thought the border guards in Mexico were more relaxed. What we prepared ✅ Electronic entry permit. ✅ Employment certificates indicating position and salary (in English). ✅ Bank statement showing balances and account transactions (in English). ✅ Printed tickets within Mexico. ✅ Most importantly, tickets out of Mexico. ✅ Accommodation reservations for all travel dates. It's preferable for accommodation to be prepaid, but ours were unpaid, and that didn't raise any issues. I also booked two excursions and asked the organizers to send me booking confirmations. I also printed them out. How it went The border guard asked to see our documents and asked a few questions about our itinerary and the purpose of our trip. The entire procedure took about 15 minutes. We explained that we were traveling for 12 days. We were eventually stamped and allowed to stay in the country for 16 days. That's it. My advice Don't expect to be left unchecked at the border. The better prepared you are, the smoother your entry will be. Printed documents still make a good impression and allow us to answer any questions more quickly. ❤️ Save this post if you're planning a trip to Mexico. And subscribe—ahead you'll find ready-made itineraries for Mexico City, Cancun, and lots more useful information for independent travel. #mexico #cancun #MexicoCity #Latam #mexico #cancun

#localrules Hello, my traveling stars! ✨ Today we are breaking down one of the most awkward and stressful aspects of traveling — the tipping culture. In some destinations, tipping feels like a warm "thank you," while in others, it turns into pure psychological harassment that can completely ruin your luxury holiday vibe. Let’s look at how it works around the world: Egypt: The Aggressive "Baksheesh" Nightmare 🇪🇬🚨
Let's be completely honest: in Egypt, tipping (locally called Baksheesh) has turned into an aggressive trap🙀. Even if you stay in a premium 5-star resort, the staff will literally stare into your eyes, begging and pleading for cash . They demand money for basic things that are already included in your stay — like handing you a clean towel, opening a door, or carrying your luggage. This desperate pressure is incredibly repelling and creates massive mental discomfort. 💎 The Hack: Keep a stack of small 1-dollar bills or 50 Egyptian pound notes in your pocket. Give them only if you received actual, genuine extra service. If they stand there begging shamelessly, look them in the eye, say a firm "Shukran" (Thank you), and walk away. Don't let them make you feel guilty! Mexico: The Unwritten Holiday Law (La Propina) 🇲🇽🌮
In Mexico, tipping is an essential part of the local economy. Waiters, hotel maids, and gas station attendants have very low base salaries and live on tips. The Rule: Leaving 10% to 15% in restaurants is standard. Always check your bill carefully: some tourist traps automatically print it under the word "Servicio". If it's already added, you don't need to pay double! Russia: A Voluntary Gesture of Appreciation 🇷🇺☕
In Russia, tipping is strictly voluntary and never forced. No one will ever look at you with begging eyes or demand cash. The Rule: If you enjoyed your meal and the service in a restaurant was great, leaving 10% is a nice gesture of politeness. Today, almost every venue has QR codes printed directly on the receipt, allowing you to send tips to your waiter via smartphone in two clicks. If the service was bad, leaving zero is completely acceptable and normal. Mainland China: The Ultimate Ban on Tips 🇨🇳🚫
If you want a complete break from tipping drama, go to China! Here, tipping is officially non-existent and can even be viewed as a direct insult. Locals believe that high-quality service is their core duty, and offering extra cash implies that the restaurant doesn't pay its staff enough. If you leave money on a table in Beijing or Shanghai, a waiter will literally run down the street after you to return your forgotten cash! 💡 My Golden Rule: Remember, my stars, you are a guest, not a walking wallet. Respect local traditions, tip where it’s historically accepted, but never let pushy touts guilt-trip you out of your hard-earned vacation money! #tippingguide #egypttravel #mexicotravel #moscowtravel #traveltips #firsttimermistakes #tripmoments

Before heading to Guadalajara, I did a lot of research, but the keywords I kept seeing were: ❌ Unsafe ❌ Customs fines ❌ Uber not allowed As a business traveler attending an exhibition, I had a large suitcase full of exhibition materials. Honestly, I was quite anxious and nervous before landing. 😅 📍But from the moment I landed— ✅ Passed through customs smoothly, and my materials weren’t checked or fined. ✅ Got an Uber right outside the terminal, contrary to online claims that Uber isn’t allowed. ✅ My hotel was right across from the exhibition center, making it super convenient and safe to walk to the venue. 🥃 The day before setting up, I even visited TOP48 bar. Took an Uber at 9:30 PM and returned at 2:30 AM. The drivers were punctual, and the routes were clear. Honestly, it felt safer than some cities back home. 📸 After finishing work, I stayed for 3 extra days to explore Guadalajara. The city’s main attractions are quite concentrated, and you can cover them in a day. But what I really wanted to capture wasn’t the churches or squares—it was the people who make this city vibrant and lively. I wandered around for hours, photographing a policeman playing guitar on the street, a devout man in a church, and even stumbled upon a wedding in a cathedral. This is the real reason I came to Mexico. ✅ A final word for anyone planning to visit Guadalajara: Don’t just trust “warning posts.” They often represent rare exceptions. That said, staying safe is always a priority no matter where you are. Some cities, however, need to be experienced firsthand to truly understand them—like the story of the horse crossing the river.

I realized I had been deceived when I arrived in the land of Mexican drug lords. Yes, completely deceived. Everyone who heard I was going to Mexico 🇲🇽 expressed concern and confusion, even my friends in the U.S. warned me about the dangers. However, my first stop after entering from Los Angeles was Guadalajara, Mexico's second-largest city, notoriously known as a drug hub. To make matters worse, I arrived in the middle of the night, stacking up the danger factors. Yet, from the airport to the hotel, the streets were brightly lit, the taxi driver was polite, and there were no suspicious individuals lingering around. It actually felt safer than downtown Los Angeles. The next day, I had only half a day to explore, so I took a leisurely stroll around the city center instead of rushing to tourist spots. The locals were warm and helpful. The country exudes a rich Spanish 🇪🇸 charm mixed with rugged indigenous elements, making it uniquely recognizable. Mexico has been unfairly maligned. Even though it was just my first day, I already felt it was a travel destination worth visiting. Of course, no place is 100% safe, so it's always wise to stay vigilant and avoid risky situations when traveling. Guadalajara, despite being the second-largest city, can be explored in just one day. 🎫 Attractions: 【Templo de Nuestra Señora de Aranzazú】 The most beautiful church in Guadalajara, featuring three lavishly decorated Spanish Baroque golden altars in the New Spanish Baroque style. The word "arantzazu" translates to "thorn," symbolizing the abundance of thorny bushes in the area. 【Temple de San Francisco】 Located nearby, also in the New Spanish Baroque style. 【Universidad de Guadalajara】 The university's theater (Paraninfo) boasts large murals painted by José Clemente Orozco on the stage backdrop and dome. Behind the theater is the Museum of Arts (Museo de las Artes) (10:00–18:00, Tuesday to Friday, free entry). 【Hospicio Cabañas】 The name "Cabañas" comes from Spanish Bishop Cabañas, whose statue now stands in the plaza inside the hospice. In 1796, the bishop arrived in Mexico with the mission to build a refuge for orphans, the elderly, the infirm, and the homeless. The neoclassical building was completed in 1810 and officially opened as a charitable institution. In 1997, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 👀 Must-see highlights: Orozco murals. The main hall features 57 murals by José Clemente Orozco, one of Mexico's "Big Three" muralists. The artwork is striking, with themes revolving around Mexican history, colonial conquest, human struggles, and resistance against fascism. The dome's masterpiece, "The Man of Fire," is considered one of the pinnacles of Mexican art. Free entry on Tuesdays! ⏰ Opening hours: 10:00–18:00, closed on Mondays.

We spent four days and nights in Mexico City, walking nearly 60,000 steps. While there are plenty of online guides, this is my 120% subjective experience. Highly Recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1️⃣ Hot Air Balloon Over the Pyramids + Walking the Contrast 🎈 The hot air balloon gets incredibly close to the Sun Pyramid, almost brushing past it. Initially, the aerial view didn’t seem that impressive, especially since we had visited Chichen Itza before, which we found more visually stunning. But once we walked up to explore, we were awestruck by its grandeur. It’s not just a pyramid—it’s an entire city-state! 2️⃣ Experiencing "Cable Car" Transportation 🚡 The cable car is a commuting tool for suburban workers, and the "slum" label is a misconception. It’s a great way to experience the daily life of locals while enjoying the colorful hillside houses. On the way back, we used a transit card to take the metro. The train was slightly dirty and chaotic but didn’t feel unsafe. There are even special carriages for women and children, which is very considerate! 3️⃣ Immersive Mexican Wrestling 🤼‍♀️ Mexican wrestling is more performance than actual fighting, with wrestlers donning elaborate costumes and playing characters with red, white, and black faces. Even though the moves are choreographed, many of them are still quite challenging. We attended the Sunday show at Arena Mexico, which is more family-oriented. The audience was lively, and the atmosphere was fantastic! Highly recommend buying tickets directly from the official website. 4️⃣ Guided City Walk in the Downtown Area We hired a private guide to explore the main attractions in the city center. The guide was fascinating, sharing historical facts and anecdotes while recommending snack spots along the way. We learned quirky tidbits, like how the jacaranda trees in Mexico were introduced by a Japanese man from Brazil (he originally wanted to bring cherry blossoms but failed) and how Mexico City’s Chinatown doesn’t actually have any Chinese residents. 5️⃣ Magical 4D Library 📚 Biblioteca Vasconcelos is incredibly modern (hard to believe it was built 20 years ago) and super photogenic! They offer free English tours and explanations. Check out what book I found in photo 11 🤓 Average ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔵 National Museum of Anthropology Maybe our expectations were too high, so we felt slightly disappointed. The museum doesn’t offer official guides or audio devices 😑, so we had to rely on Google Translate and ChatGPT throughout. Additionally, learning more about the civilization somewhat demystified it. For instance, the museum’s centerpiece, the Sun Stone, dates back to the 15th century and was used for human sacrifices, while the Ming Dynasty in China had already established centralized governance and a mature civil service examination system by then. 🔵 Chapultepec Castle The castle is located on a hilltop and offers great views. Its interior is also quite exquisite. However, calling it a "castle" feels a bit exaggerated. As Mexico’s only "royal palace," its elegance and luxury are even slightly inferior to some private mansions on Rhode Island. Proceed with Caution ⭐️ ⚫️ Mercado de Artesanías (Handicraft Market) A purely tourist-oriented market with highly homogenized products. The quality is average, but the prices are steep. A ceramic plate with a nice pattern was priced at 3,500 pesos (about $250 USD), which instantly killed my desire to haggle. ⚫️ La Gruta Cave Restaurant The ambiance is decent, but the food is disappointing. We ordered pork belly, which had an overwhelming stench, and lamb, which was excessively gamey. On top of that, our server was often nowhere to be found. I’ll write a separate food review later. Everyone says Cappadocia has the world’s best hot air balloon experience. I thought the same. Then I flew over Teotihuacan in Mexico. And honestly? Teotihuacan does it better. 🌄 Watching dozens of colorful balloons rise above the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon feels surreal. Ancient history beneath you. Mountains on the horizon. Sunrise painting everything gold. 🎂 Many balloon operators don’t just take you on a flight - they celebrate your story. Birthdays, anniversaries, proposals… they’ll surprise you with personalized banners, a champagne toast, cake, and a heartfelt celebration after landing. It feels less like a tourist activity and more like being part of something special, one of a lifetime adventure. 🪎 After the flight, they take you directly to the pyramids, so you can be the first visitor of the day and experience this incredible place before the crowds arrive - in a peaceful, almost private atmosphere. Mexico gives you something different: one of the world’s greatest archaeological sites from the sky, with a personal touch that stays with you long after the flight ends. If you’re planning a bucket-list balloon ride, don’t automatically book Cappadocia. Take a look at Teotihuacan first. You might be surprised which one steals your heart 🎈 #mexico #teotihuacan #hotairballoon #travelinspiration #sunriseviews #adventuretravel #travelmore #hiddengems #bucketlist
