Marsden Lake Resort is nestled along the shores of Lake Dunstan in Pisa Moorings, near Cromwell. It offers a unique atmosphere that stands out from typical hotels, with rooms and common areas designed to provide a direct connection to the water. From the balcony, you’re greeted by charming waterways lined with villas, gardens, and willow trees, all opening up to the majestic Pisa Range in the distance. The soft morning and evening light paints the mountains in shifting hues, creating a view that is incredibly peaceful and mellow. My favorite feature is the over-water deck that extends right over the lake, allowing you to soak in the scenery straight from your room. The resort offers a variety of studios and villas, with select rooms featuring private balconies that overlook Lake Dunstan and the marina. This is the perfect spot for a slow-paced getaway. Start your morning with coffee by the lake and return in the evening to the stunning mountain backdrop. For dining, the Moorings Restaurant & Bar is conveniently located right on-site. For me, this is one of those places that reminds you Central Otago isn’t just about the destinations—the accommodation itself is a part of the landscape worth savoring. 🇳🇿 📍 Lake Resort by Marsden, Cromwell, Central Otago, New Zealand 📸 Original photography by the author.

Dunstan Hill is truly one of New Zealand’s most prestigious cherry orchards—I’ve heard it’s almost impossible to snag a box! I felt incredibly honored to be invited by the orchard manager to tour this famous estate, and it definitely lived up to the reputation. 👏 Beyond their famous hand-picked cherries, the orchard also grows honey peaches, apricots, and rose peaches, satisfying every fruit lover’s cravings! 🍑 Strolling through the orchard under clear blue skies and lush greenery, picking your own fruit is as fresh as it gets. It’s also the perfect spot for photos; seeing a cherry glisten in the sunlight is so therapeutic! The owner was so welcoming and even gifted us a box of premium cherries after our tour—we were over the moon! 😆 If you’re heading to New Zealand, you absolutely have to bookmark Dunstan Hill. Located in Central Otago on New Zealand's South Island, Alexandra immediately struck me as a travel hotspot frozen in time. Its landmark, the Alexandra Historic Bridge, built in 1882, is a serene testament to the gold mining era and a must-see historical site for travelers in recent years. Upon entering Alexandra, the sun shone brightly, and under a clear blue sky, a stone bridge spanned the water, enhancing the town's nostalgic atmosphere—perfect for history buffs and photographers. A must-see: Whether under a clear day or amidst shifting clouds, the Alexandra Historic Bridge, a remnant of a bridge with towers and piers, possesses a unique, serene beauty where nature and history intertwine. Standing on the piers for a close-up view, one can enjoy the soft greenery of the surrounding trees and gaze at the tranquil flow of the river in the distance—a truly dual experience of New Zealand's outdoor culture and natural scenery. 📍 Location Located in the town of Alexandra in Central Otago, spanning the Clutha River. 🚍 Transportation Easily accessible by car via State Highway 8. The bridge is not far from the town center, and can also be reached on foot or by bike. ✨ Personal Experience The Alexandra Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in the area. Its arched steel structure stretches across the clear waters of the Clutha River, offering a unique sense of grandeur whether you're standing on the bridge looking out or admiring it from the riverbank below. I especially recommend visiting at dusk, when the sunset paints the sky in shades of orange and red, making the bridge's silhouette even more captivating. The surrounding mountains and river views embody the vastness of Central Otago, making it hard to leave. Though it's just a bridge in a small town, its history and local charm make it an unforgettable sight on any journey.

Alexandra is a town in the Central Otago region of New Zealand's South Island. It is located on the banks of the Clutha River, off State Highway 8, 188 kilometres from Dunedin. We left Queenstown for Dunedin this day. We took a break here in the morning and bought a cup of hot Americano and a small latte. There were small candies on top~ so cute. New Zealand’s latte is delicious! I've never been disappointed by any of the restaurants I've visited🤣 Cafe Rossi in Alexandra 📍Address: 35 Tarbert Street, Alexandra 9320 New Zealand #NewZealand #newzeland #alexandra #cafe #travel
