If you have an extra day in the Pink City, these hidden gems will show you a different side of Jaipur, away from the busiest tourist spots. 📍Panna Meena ka Kund Just a few minutes from Amber Fort, this beautiful 16th century stepwell is one of Jaipur’s most photogenic places. Its perfectly symmetrical staircases create incredible geometric patterns, making it a favorite for photographers. While you can no longer walk on the steps, the viewpoints around the edge offer fantastic angles for photos. 📍Patrika Gate Often called Jaipur’s most colorful attraction, Patrika Gate is a paradise for photography lovers. Every archway is covered with hand painted artwork celebrating Rajasthan’s history, culture, festivals, and architecture. Visit early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful light and avoid the crowds that arrive later in the day. 📍Gaitor Ki Chhatriyan Hidden in a peaceful valley just outside the city center, these royal cenotaphs are one of Jaipur’s quietest attractions. The beautifully carved marble pavilions were built in memory of Jaipur’s former rulers, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a welcome escape from the busy streets. 📍Sisodia Rani Garden Built as a royal retreat, this elegant garden features fountains, terraced landscapes, colorful murals, and pavilions surrounded by greenery. It’s a relaxing place to spend an hour, especially during the cooler months. 📍Kanak Vrindavan Garden Located below Amber Fort, this historic garden is often overlooked by visitors rushing between attractions. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the fort itself, making it a lovely stop for a peaceful walk. 📍Nahargarh Fort at Sunset Although Nahargarh Fort is becoming more popular, many travelers still skip it. That would be a mistake. The panoramic views over Jaipur are breathtaking, especially as the city begins to glow at sunset. It’s one of my favorite places to end the day. 📍Explore the Old City on Foot One of the best hidden experiences isn’t a monument at all. Wander through the smaller lanes behind the main bazaars, where you’ll discover local temples, traditional sweet shops, craftsmen creating block prints by hand, and colorful streets that rarely appear in guidebooks. Sometimes the best memories come from simply getting lost for a while. Gandhi Smriti Museum · Impressions: This was Gandhi's final restroom and the site of his assassination. Knowing information about fraud groups will help protect you. ⚠️ Real-Life Crime Stories I heard real-life stories of scams I experienced while traveling in India from people I met on the road. · Example: I was approached in the street, and while chatting at a cafe, I suddenly lost consciousness. · Result: All my money and passport were taken. (Sleeping pills had been put in my bag.) 💁 Precautions and Specific Strategies from a Woman's Perspective My basic travel philosophy is "safety first." I recommend you also refer to my other article, "Real Strategies for Solo Female Travelers Abroad," but this time I'll focus specifically on my trip to India. 1. Don't Trust Anyone Many scammers try to appeal to your emotions, but as a non-local, I can't judge. So I basically didn't trust anyone and responded firmly. 2. Only paid for and booked transportation in advance. I used Uber and hotel-arranged cars, avoiding taxis and tuk-tuks. 3. Eat all your meals at the hotel and avoid going out at night. For hygiene reasons, I avoided food stalls to avoid stomach aches. I also avoided going out after 6 PM. Going out at night is especially dangerous. Be careful of your flight arrival time. Money is priceless. 4. Pay attention to restroom conditions · Restrooms are hard to find in the city, so it's recommended to use them before going out to avoid the risk of stomach aches. [Health Management: Stomach Aches & Dengue Fever Prevention] ☺️ Stomach Aches Prevention (Successful!) · Avoid raw vegetables and fruit (eat cooked food). · Use bottled water even when brushing your teeth. · Don't trust free water at hotels; drink water from unopened bottles. (Always check that the lid is closed before purchasing. Open bottles are sometimes sold.) · Avoid gargling while showering and getting water in your eyes. (Due to the risk of conjunctivitis and dysentery.) 🦟 Dengue Fever Prevention (with some regrets) I was bitten by mosquitoes three times. 😭 · I should have used insect repellent more frequently. (Once a day wasn't enough. 😢) · I should have worn light-colored clothing (especially white). I explored the Hawa Mahal, its honeycomb windows catching the afternoon sun, and wandered through the Amber Fort, where elephants carried tourists up the sandstone hills. The air smelled of masala and sweets, and shopkeepers called out with friendly smiles. I couldn’t resist buying a handmade scarf in bright Rajasthani colors. #SeptemberDestinations2025 Amber Fort, formerly known as Amer Fort, is located on a hill 11 kilometers north of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. Built in 1592 by King Man Singh I, Amber Fort boasts a commanding position on a steep, impenetrable terrain. Surrounded by winding walls and a moat, the fort is meticulously crafted from red sandstone and white marble, blending Mughal influences with traditional Rajasthani architecture to create a fortress that is both sturdy and magnificent. Before entering Amber Fort, a herd of elephants gathers at the foot of the hill, where visitors are led slowly along the road towards the fort. The Amber Fort has several highlights, including the Suraj Pol (Victory Gate), the Diwan-i-Aam (People's Hall), the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), the Jai Mandir (Victory Palace), and the Kesar Kyari (Ceylon Garden). The fort's geometrically designed gardens, resembling a maze, once cultivated precious saffron for the royal family. After the tour, jeeps are available to take visitors down the hillside next to the fort, allowing for a complete walk from the ascent to the descent. The only time you'll need to move your legs is during the Amber Fort visit, a truly thoughtful gesture.

#SeptemberGoodPlaces2025 After visiting Amber Fort, we took a jeep to the base of the hill to meet up for the bus. Not far away, we spotted the Panna Meena Kakund, a stepwell that bore a striking resemblance to Chand Baori, the moon well in Abhanali Village east of Jaipur. This stepwell wasn't part of our itinerary, so we took advantage of the short wait for the bus and a restroom break to snap away photos. This stepwell, built in the 16th century, is slightly smaller than Chand Baori and features three crisscrossing steps with small niches along the walls. While both steps share geometric shapes, the designs differ slightly. One must admire the skill of Indian artisans, who manage to create such a seemingly complex pattern with such ingenious and neat arrangement.

It would be too difficult to rush around and see them all in one day. The travel agency specially arranged for us to stay in Jaipur for two nights so that we could enjoy the tour in detail. 1. Amer Fort 🕰️Business hours: 0900-1700 💰Ticket price: 200 rupees for foreigners 💞Recommendation reason: Amber Fort, located on the hill, was once the old city of Jaipur. It is composed of many independent palaces, a mixture of Islamic and Hindu styles, and is quite magnificent. There are many walls in the building decorated with gems and mirrors. The most famous one is the "Mirror Palace". When the sunlight shines on the lenses and gems and causes reflections, the whole castle will sparkle! 2. Jal Mahal 🕰️Opening hours: all day 💰Ticket price: Free 💞Recommendation reason: The building isolated in the artificial lake was originally used as the king's hunting lodge. Later, the water level continued to rise, submerging the lower four floors of the hunting lodge, making it look as if it was floating on the lake. However, the Water Palace is currently in a semi-ruin state and requires a boat to reach it. We just took some photos on the other side, so it was free. 3. Hawa Mahal 🕰️Business hours: 0900-1630 💰Ticket price: 50 rupees for foreigners 💞Recommendation reason: Jaipur’s most representative attractions, and the beautiful check-in photos on Instagram of Internet celebrities! The exterior of the Palace of Winds looks like an exquisite honeycomb and is made up of 395 windows. The entire towering brick-red sandstone building stands on the side of the main road, with an exquisite, majestic and noble design. 4. City Palace 🕰️Opening hours: 0930-1700 💰Ticket price: 200 rupees for foreigners 💞Recommendation reason: One of the best-preserved ancient monuments in India, it is not only the residence of successive Jaipur princes, but the current Jaipur prince and his family still live in the Moon Palace. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi) located 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace.

The Sheesh Mahal (Urdu: شیش محل; "The Palace of Mirrors") is a palace located within the Shah Burj block in northern-western corner of Lahore Fort. It was constructed under the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631–32, with some additions later under Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The ornate white marble pavilion is inlaid with pietra dura and complex mirror-work of the finest quality. The hall was reserved for personal use by the imperial family and close aides. It is among the 21 monuments that were built by successive Mughal emperors inside Lahore Fort, and forms the "jewel in the Fort’s crown." The construction method is super wonderful, but you can only view it from a distance and cannot enter. The experience is average. 3⃣Jantar Mantar⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have to admire the wisdom of ancient Indians. Here you can see a timer that is accurate to the minute and second, and it can still accurately measure modern time⏱. 4⃣City Palace⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The palace is located in the Pink City of Jaipur. The museum inside displays the items used by the nobles of the Mughal dynasty. It's super photogenic. It was mainly used by the queen and concubines to watch the market outside. It's super photogenic when taking photos across the street, but it's sad that it really shows the low status of women at that time and their boring life. 6⃣Tripolia Bazaar⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The market outside that the queen and concubines watched is the Tripolia Bazaar🛍, which is ten kilometers in radius. It's the busiest and most lively place in Jaipur. It's also a place where everyone can boldly practice bargaining💰. If you’re heading to #jaipur then you have to stop by the forts there! The Nahargargh, Jaigargh and Amber Fort are all nearby each other and should definitely be visited. (This post is about Jaigargh only, please look at the other posts for the other two forts). How to get there? You can book an ola or uber for each ride but it would be more convenient to rent out a cab for 8 hours for about 2000rs. Doing such, you have enough time to get to all three forts and take enough pictures.

We went to Jaipur (Pink city and capital of Rajasthan, India). The climate was pleasant. Min temp 16C. 3 nights stay in the city is enough to enjoy the place. We stayed at one of the palace hotel, Jai Mahal which is managed by Taj. Ideal time for visit - December month ( Also enjoy Jaipur Marriages) Place of Interest (My recommendations) Day 1 - You will arrive by 1.00 PM so head to Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Birla Temple. Do some shopping and Jauhari Bazar and Baapu Bazar. Day 2 - Head to Rambaug Palace and have your lunch there. In the evening go to Chokhi Dhani. Day 3 - Visit Amber Fort, Jai Fort, Jantar Mantar and City Palace Day4 - Now its time to move on. Don't forget to buy Jaipur sweets. The famous are Narayan for Gajak, LMB for Ghevar, Rawat for Kachori and Kanha for Kalakand. Don't go to places recommended by the taxi or city tour operators.
