Experience the treasure hunt at Ardingly Antiques Fair
This was in 2019, but I finally got to go to an antique fair, something I'd always wanted to do.
There are many antique fairs held in the UK, and the whole town is filled with a treasure-hunting atmosphere♪
However, the Ardingly Antiques Fair is one of the largest in the UK.
I took the train to a station near the venue, then took a taxi from there.
The vast venue was lined with hundreds of stalls (in the UK, shops are called "stalls"),
packed with a wide variety of items, including furniture, pottery, vintage goods, jewelry, and paintings.
It was like a giant treasure hunt, and just walking around and browsing each item was exciting.
Another attraction was the opportunity to enjoy friendly conversation and bargain with the exhibitors.
The venue was lively, with a diverse gathering of locals and buyers from all over the world.
There were also several Japanese visitors.
Even if you're not an expert on antiques, it was a special time to enjoy the atmosphere.
It was an unforgettable memory of my trip, where I was able to fully experience the British atmosphere!
I want to go again!

Revolving Around the Beauty of Nature: Eyes – United Kingdom
Stop: Balcombe and Ardingly Reservoir Extended Circular
Winding through the Sussex countryside, the Balcombe and Ardingly Reservoir Extended Circular walk blends serene woodland, rolling fields, and shimmering water into one of the region’s most peaceful routes. The path meanders through tranquil villages and hidden lanes, before opening onto the wide expanse of Ardingly Reservoir, its surface mirroring the sky and framed by the gentle slopes of surrounding farmland. It’s a walk that feels both expansive and intimate, capturing the charm of rural England in every turn.
The reservoir itself is alive with activity—sailing boats gliding across the water, herons waiting patiently by the reeds, and flashes of kingfishers darting along the banks. In spring and summer, the hedgerows burst with wildflowers, while autumn paints the woodlands in gold and amber, and winter brings a quieter beauty, with crisp air and mirrored reflections on still waters.
Along the way, the route carries you through a variety of landscapes: shaded woods where birdsong fills the air, open meadows dotted with sheep, and stretches of trail that reveal wide horizons. More than just a walk, the circular route offers moments to pause, reflect, and simply absorb the balance of water, woodland, and sky—an immersion into the understated but enduring beauty of the English countryside.
