Arles, which took about 4 hours by train from Paris☺️ If you walk a few more minutes with the beautiful Rhone River, you will find the Arles Coliseum and the yellow and pretty Van Gogh Cafe and the old, small, pretty city. Since it is an old city, the ground was so bumpy when I arrived that it was hard to drag my suitcase😂 Fortunately, the accommodation was so good that I recovered all my fatigue This is a more expensive tourist destination than I thought, so the prices and accommodation were both expensive But I think I booked a clean and good place at a reasonable price! If you ask me which place I liked the most, it’s not the highly anticipated lavender fields, but this emerald-like lake canyon—Lac de Sainte-Croix! The color of this lake is not just green; under the sunlight, it shines a crystal-clear blue-green. You can also row boats on the lake, pass through the canyon, and you can even jump off the boat to swim at will. There are many adults and children diving off the cliffs on both sides of the canyon. I really envy their courage and relaxed vibe! If you’re coming to the South of France, please don’t miss this beautiful place! 【Attraction】Lac de Sainte-Croix 【Parking🅿️】 📍Navigate to Parking Pont du Galetas, free parking. The parking lot is right downhill at the end of the must-visit bridge. 【Activities】 1️⃣🚣Boat rental (a must-do) ▪️Boat types: paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats, etc. ▪️Price: We rented a covered pedal boat, 50€/2 hours ▪️Rental companies: There are currently three boat rental companies with similar boat types and prices. November in Amsterdam is indeed rainy and drizzly, and this kind of weather is perfect for visiting museums! Every time I visit a museum, I feel like I learn a lot. After learning about Van Gogh’s short life, I’m not very knowledgeable about art, but I’m deeply moved by the artist’s dedication and pursuit of art. I’m also touched by the inspiration behind each painting. Arles was one of my favorite places on this trip to the South of France. It's a city that perfectly blends art with its ancient history: you can walk through the spaces where Van Gogh once lived and created, and experience the city walls, theaters, and streets left behind from the Roman era. Van Gogh lived in Arles for only about 14 months, yet this period saw his most prolific creative output, resulting in over 300 works—including approximately 200 oil paintings and over 100 drawings and watercolors—many of which were created here. Transportation🚗: Taking the train from Avignon Centre to Arles is very convenient. Walking routes and recommended attractions🗺️: 📍The Yellow House (La Maison Jaune) Although the original building was destroyed in World War II, being able to visit the original site was still a joy. 📍The Roman Colosseum (Arènes d’Arles) This ancient amphitheater witnessed Arles's Roman-era glory. 📍Arles Park (Jardin d’été) Located in the old town, this lush green park is the inspiration for Van Gogh's paintings. 📍L’Espace Van Gogh This is where Van Gogh lived after cutting off his ear; it's now a cultural and community center, and I saw university students taking classes there. 📍Starry Night on the Rhône River A stroll along the riverbank offers a view of this famous painting. A few weeks ago, my friends and I visited Arles in southern France to explore the renowned Arles Amphitheatre (Arènes d’Arles). This ancient arena, built during the Roman era, has stood the test of nearly two millennia and remains majestic to this day. As we stepped into the circular arena, the stone steps, arches, and stands seemed to still echo with the cheers of ancient spectators. Sunlight streamed through the arches, illuminating traces of history and evoking a profound sense of the passage of time. We walked along the elevated pathways, circling the arena and overlooking the entire old town of Arles. That moment was both awe-inspiring and moving, as if we had traveled through time to encounter the grandeur of ancient Roman civilization.

The Arles Market (Le Marché d’Arles) is open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, usually opening early and closing around noon or a little after. I rushed to the market just before closing time. The rows of shops are lined up one after another, making it easy to just stroll through.  🎛 The variety of goods on display was diverse, with stalls selling LP records, movie posters, vintage clothing, and handmade pottery. The desserts are not only beautiful but also relatively healthy, and the interior design is stunning. 🍓We chose the matcha strawberry tart — the strawberries are arranged like a blooming flower, and the base has a light, pleasant matcha flavor. So good! The shop assistant told us the strawberries are grown on her family's farm! 🥜The other dessert we had was peanut butter flavored. So good — the cream on top is sweet but not heavy, very light, and the peanut butter filling slowly melts in your mouth. Absolutely delicious! 🍵We didn’t have coffee here, but their fruit tea wasn’t sweet at all.
