The dining style here involves securing a seat first and then purchasing a meal ticket via a touch panel. I decided to make the most of my visit by choosing the Amaebi Bowl from the Mikuni seafood menu. What arrived was a lavish bowl featuring 12 neatly arranged amaebi. The translucent shrimp meat was tender and sweet, and dipping it in wasabi soy sauce enhanced its umami flavor. After savoring the shrimp meat, the correct way to proceed is to suck on the shrimp heads, enjoying the rich miso flavor to the fullest. The balance between the shrimp and rice was perfect, making it easy to finish the meal at a steady pace. This was a highly satisfying taste of Mikuni's sea bounty, conveniently available at a Shinkansen stop. The design is so beautiful that it looks like an art museum. It is a multi-purpose space that can be used for events or as a waiting area even on rainy days. By opening the glass doors, it can be used as an integrated space with the hall. The hall features an installation of many Japanese umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. We went to a hot spring inn in Awara Onsen, one of the most popular hot spring resorts in the Hokuriku region, where you can stay with your pet. This is a pet-first inn where pets are allowed in all areas of the building except for the large public bath. There are plenty of things to enjoy, including welcome treats for pets, a photo space, and indoor and outdoor dog runs. The large public bath is a hot spring, so pet owners were very satisfied with this inn. This hotel is located near the lake. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride from JR Awara Station. There's nothing around but the lake, and the hotel has a shop, but if you want something to drink or something, I recommend buying it at the station. There are two baths, and from both the large bath and the open-air bath you can slowly watch the lake as it sunset. I booked a room with a Western-style bed, but the Japanese-modern atmosphere was very nice. For breakfast and dinner, we had a course meal using local ingredients. There were many small children, so they were very considerate and made sure to welcome them. It's also recommended for families. The Higashi Chaya district had way more shops than I expected, so I took my time strolling around and stopped for an ice cream break. The combo ticket for Kenrokuen and Kanazawa Castle is a great deal ◎ Taking a leisurely stroll, I snapped tons of photos along the way 🤳🏻 Since it was a Friday, the exhibition zones at the 21st Century Museum were open until 8 PM. I got to take my time without worrying about the clock, and even checked out the special exhibition while I was there 👀 And to cap off the day, an amazing seafood bowl at Hyakubangai Anto near Kanazawa Station 🤤🤤🤤 D2 It took just under an hour to reach Awara Onsen Station. From there, I transferred to a bus heading to Tojinbo. After getting off the bus, I walked for about 15 minutes to Tojinbo while snacking on some street food. First up was lunch at IWABA Cafe. The weather was absolutely gorgeous that day, so I snapped plenty of beautiful photos 🤳🏻 I unfortunately ran out of time, and as for Oshima Island it's a bummer I couldn't make it. But hey, I'll just look forward to that next time. Before heading home, I made a pit stop at Awara Yunomachi and took a breather at the foot bath. A buffet featuring Echizen crab, the most renowned snow crab from Fukui in Japan. It truly lives up to the reputation of the master chef who oversees JAL's First Class meals. All of this is part of the dinner buffet at a premier hotel in Awara Onsen, Fukui Prefecture. Hotel Grandia Housen. This is a famous, over 140-year-old clear water hot spring town in Japan, renowned for having over 70 onsen sources. This means each ryokan has water with different properties, and Grandia Housen exclusively owns three of these onsen sources. Speaking of the location, this area is the Echizen region of Fukui Prefecture, close to Nagoya, Toyama, and Kanazawa. It might not be super popular among Thai tourists yet, but did you know it’s a major hub for gourmet food in Japan? Echizen crab is the male snow crab, celebrated for being of the highest quality in Japan, just as famous as Tottori's Matsuba crab. Additionally, the country's number one specialty crab restaurant is also located right here in Echizen. Wakasa beef is the local branded A5 Wagyu of this place. It has an incredible aroma and flavor. Production is very limited, and it's rarely exported out of this region, making it both exceptional and rare. The Honmaguro (bluefin tuna) and yellowtail from this area offer excellent, bouncy textures. Moreover, the hotel uses large yellowtails weighing over 10 kg, which feature beautiful fat marbling. The Amaebi (sweet shrimp) served with roe is incredibly sweet. The grilled mackerel sushi is a must-buy for everyone because it's so tasty and not fishy at all. Try it, and you'll be amazed by how good it is. All these premium ingredients are gathered in one place and featured in this hotel's buffet. Crafted by the Head Chef of JAL's First Class, it truly elevates the culinary excellence here. If you are traveling to Toyama, Kanazawa, Nagoya, or Gifu, I highly recommend making a trip here. This is genuinely the best of Japan, guaranteed by the locals and by myself, having tried many famous dinner buffets across various regions. Honestly, compared to a well-known place like Ginza Happo, I personally think this is on an entirely different level. The hotel also boasts a stunningly beautiful Japanese garden, a footbath onsen, and three different styles of onsen pools offering views of the Japanese countryside. The service is authentic ryokan style—so attentive that you almost feel bad! Haha. Plus, there's a free-flow buffet of beer, wine, sweet drinks, ice cream, snacks, chocolates, and coffee where you can just grab a treat, sit back, and relax for free at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the beautiful Japanese garden. The location is also close to scenic spots and the most interactive aquarium where you can watch the penguin parade, pet a giant octopus, and interact with seals. It's fantastic. As for the price here, we booked a room with a private viewing bathtub, which included breakfast and dinner, the snack buffet, onsen access, a game room, and karaoke. We booked via Trip and got it for 9,800 THB for two people. If you choose a standard Japanese-style room and catch a promotion, it could be even cheaper. I also recommend checking direct booking prices. This price is an incredible value. You can't even get just an A5 Wagyu steak anywhere else for this price, not to mention the crabs, onsens, and all-day snacks. I highly recommend checking in right at 3:00 PM to fully enjoy everything for a long time. Okay, let's take a look at the menu photos in the post. I apologize that they aren't complete and not professionally shot—I only managed to capture half of the entire menu! But I guarantee that every single dish is incredibly delicious. It is a rare opportunity to experience the "hot springs + popular entertainment" culture that was once found in hot springs all over Japan. The neon-lit exterior evokes a Showa-era atmosphere, while the interior is compact yet immersive. The close distance to the audience and the emphasis on a lively atmosphere were impressive. For those looking to take their hot springs nightlife a step further, this is a memorable spot. Rather than being flashy, it has a stronger emphasis on "continuing Japanese hot springs culture," and can be said to be one of the places that symbolize the nightlife of Awara Hot Springs Town. Tomato cream pasta with snow crab at Woo Kyung's Kitchen in Awara City 🦀🍝 I discovered this creative Italian restaurant for lunch during a trip to Awara Onsen. I heard they serve pasta made with a whole snow crab, which is caught for only two months each year, from November to December, so I headed there without hesitation. The plate that arrived was a striking sight, with a snow crab shell perched atop the pasta. At Kappo Katsu in Awara City, we had a meal of snow crab (zubogani) + sashimi platter + grilled yellowtail collar + seared bonito + fried oysters + Echizen grated daikon radish soba noodles. This was my first time trying freshly molted snow crab, "zubogani" (water crab), which is only available for about a month from February to March. While not quite soft-shelled, the shell was soft and easy to peel by hand. True to its name, the flavor was high in moisture and juicy, characterized by a delicate and fleeting savory taste. 🦀 The sashimi platter was superbly fresh, and the grilled yellowtail collar had an exquisite amount of fat. The seared bonito had a good balance of savory flavor and umami, and the fried oysters were crispy on the outside and tender inside. A meal that allowed us to enjoy a wide variety of seafood delicacies. Of course, we finished with Echizen grated daikon radish soba noodles. The spiciness of the grated daikon radish and the aroma of the soba noodles soothed our palate, resulting in a stunning finish. While the menu doesn't list prices, the bill is clear and transparent. Staying at a hot spring inn is all about unwinding completely. The rooms at Okamoto are not very spacious but are clean, with serene mountain views outside the window. The hot spring is quiet and the clientele is nice and wonderful! The food is excellent, but the staff are well trained and enthusiastic! I especially liked Mr. Iwabuchi, who was seconded to the hotel! Thank you for the wonderful memories!

The gyoza was great, and the ramen was amazing! The guy has great taste! We didn't have a location yet, so we just had to choose the name of the restaurant! It's called "en no wa" (circle of fate)!
