Changbaishan or Changbai Mt is in Jilin Province, China along the China/North Korea border. It is a stratovolcano range with a crater lake, Tianchi (Heavenly Lake) at its summit. The picturesque Changbai Mt Scenic Area is a 5A national scenic area with alpine forests, snow-capped mountains, lakes, waterfalls and hotsprings. Different seasons will unfold magical scenes of the area.

Changbaishan is one of China's premier ski destinations, offering world-class skiing experiences amidst breathtaking natural surroundings. During our recent trip to Changbaishan, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency, which offered an excellent base for our skiing adventure. Located at the foot of the Changbai Mountains, the Hyatt Regency boasts a prime location in the heart of Changbaishan International Resort. The hotel features luxurious accommodations, with spacious rooms and suites offering stunning views of the mountains. The hotel's facilities are top-notch, including a spa, fitness center, and several excellent dining options. Of course, the main attraction during our trip was the skiing, and Changbaishan did not disappoint. The resort boasts over 43 kilometers of ski runs, with something for skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts. The snow quality was excellent, and we were able to enjoy the slopes in relative peace, as the resort is still somewhat undiscovered by international tourists. One of the highlights of our trip was skiing down the Changbai Grand Canyon, a breathtaking run that took us through a narrow canyon flanked by towering cliffs. Another highlight was the chance to ski on Changbai Mountain itself, one of the most majestic peaks in China. Overall, our ski trip to Changbaishan was an unforgettable experience, and the Hyatt Regency provided the perfect base for our adventure. If you're looking for world-class skiing in a stunning natural setting, Changbaishan is definitely worth a visit. And if you're looking for a luxurious hotel to stay in while you're there, the Hyatt Regency is an excellent choice.

It’s almost winter time so it’s time to plan your ski trip! 🤩 If you’re planning to go to Changbai mountain, then Sheraton can be your consideration. It is one of the more affordable option with decent facilities and not far from the ski resort itself. Room was good, all ski resort tickets are included (except clothes rental) and they have big gym, too, that is bigger than The Westin’s. The only drawback is that you’d need to walk outside to go to the swimming pool which is located inside The Westin building, and that it is one of the father away hotel location from the Hannasan hotspring resort (Hyatt is the nearest). Tips: Check the weather forecast before you go. It would probably nicer to have bright and sunny days during your stay. Address: HYATT REGENCY CHANGBAISHAN Atmosphere/Facilities: Calm interior and many facilities and programs to enjoy Key Points: Average price per person: USD 200 Rating: 3.8 I requested airport pickup when making the reservation, and was told to wait for a staff member holding a card with the hotel name on it when I arrived at the airport on the day. I couldn't see the hotel name (there were other hotels) I thought the staff went to the bathroom for a while, so I kept waiting but they didn't come I called the hotel and they told me to go to the parking lot and look for a bus... Only taxi drivers were honking and the buses had all left I called the hotel again and they told me to wait while they talked to the staff 15 minutes later they called and said the bus had already left so they would send another staff member... There was no sign that said Hyatt Regency Changbaishan in the first place and the pick-up bus wasn't even a Hyatt-only vehicle. The Best Skiing Resort Well Organized from the minute you set foot on the frozen❄️land. 🚗Getting There - The shaufffers stand out in their red vest 🦺 and clearly displayed board of the different 🏨 hotels in the Resort. They escort you to the bus🚌 and add you to a 📱WeChat group packed with information about the Resort and excursions. There is a tour guide who makes several announcements on the way to the Resort. The first stop was at the COVID-19 testing station, which costs 10 yuan. 🧳Attractions - Indoor and outdoor Hotsprings🧖🏻‍♀️ are included in the package and there is a 🚌 that makes rounds around the resort. There are multiple skiing and snowboarding slopes grouped according to proficiency levels. 🏨Hotels - The resort has several hotels to choose from. Hyatt Regency, Wanda, Holiday Inn etc. They all cost nothing less than 💵1200元 per night (all inclusive package). When it comes to popular winter hiking routes, Huapiling definitely ranks high! The route I've been wanting to try for 3 years is finally underway. A beautiful high mountain grassland is called "Old Bald Peak"... [Facepalm] After finishing the Northeast loop and going through the photos at home, I still feel pleasantly surprised. It was worth enduring the bumpy crater-like road at the foot of the mountain 📸(^_^) There's reason to suspect the few people and beautiful scenery are because of road construction 😜 It was probably a forest farm before, and the roads inside the scenic area are quite good. You can watch the scenery at the top of the mountain together with free-range cows and horses. The sea of clouds is said to be stunning, but it depends on the timing. The scenic area has built boardwalks, but walking the entire boardwalk takes several hours. During the journey, we drove a short stretch of G331 and arrived in Linjiang. Across the Yalu River was North Korea (our phones even switched to their time zone!). On the square, uncles and aunties were dancing against the backdrop of lush mountains and clear waters. The next morning, it only took a 30-minute drive to reach Xianren Valley.
