One of my favorite things to do during the summer is definitely going on vacation and for summer time, I usually prefer an island holiday compared to a highland holiday during the colder winter months. For summer of 2026, I decided to head back to Bali, with my previous visit back in 2016. One of the hotel that I stayed was Hard Rock Hotel Bali which was located on Kuta Beach, so it was really convenient for me to just walk across the street for a beautiful sunset or just around the corner if I wanted some cheap massage. However, for most of my 3D2N I decided to eat in at the hotel and spend time in the largest free form pool in Bali. My room is spacious and located on the executive wing and I love the bathroom. As you know the overall vibes at Hard Rock Hotel is always chill and happening and I just loved it. Having a nice resort is always one of my requirements for a good summer holiday. How about you? Talking about Summer holidays? I just came back from a week in Bali and let me tell you, thes are the 13 experiences that made this one of the best summer vacation I had in Indonesia. 1. 3 days 2 night pool villa stay at Anantara Ubud Resort where we pretty much just stayed in, enjoyed the serenity of the area as well as the facilities of the resort. 2. An afternoon at Alas Harum Ubud where they have taken this terraced rice field and turned into on of the most instagrammable attraction in Bali, from King Kong to the Bali Swing. 3. Spending an afternoon in the largest free form swimming pool in Bali - We stayed at Hard Rock Hotel in Kuta and if there is one highlight of this resort, it has to be their free form pool where it is huge, with sandy island, swim up pool bar and a chilren's water theme park. 4. Sunset stroll in Kuta Beach was ideal as it was located right across from our hotel - Hard Rock Hotel Bali 5. Indonesian Dinner at Kirana where we enjoyed our first Indonesian Wagyu, some fabulous satays and some pizzas. 6. The Bloom Flower Garden is a must visit and tickets can be bought together with the entrance to Ulun Danu Beratan. This huge flower garden is curated at the foothills and is super picturisque and the weather was amazing. 7. Taman Ayun Temple has always remain one of my favorite temple here in Bali, not very big in size but you can feel the energy here. 8. Sunset at Tanah Lot is a definite must if you visit Bali and this time we got here a bit earlier and tide was low, so we can actually walk to the temple and the sunset was simply amazing. 9. Tirta Gangga Water Palace is located a bit far from everything on the North Eastern side of the island but it is one of the prettiest site in Bali and if you do have the time, you must make it here. 10. Pork Ribs at Wahaha in Seminyak was amazing and I cant recommend it more - the food was amazing, especially the fall of the bones BBQ ribs. 11. Lunch at Jatiluwih - Jatiluwih is a UNESCO heritage site and it is on the way back to the city from Ulun Danu Beratan. You can see the people actually working on the paddy fields and we had a lovely lunch at Gong Jatiluwih overlooking the golden rice crop. 12. Ulun Danu Beratan is another of the must visit temple in Bali and the added advantage here is the location at high attitude where you can a much cooler weather than in the city. This temple built on the lake is so breathtaking. 13. A Babi Guling Breakfast at Pak Malen in Seminyak is a must for your visit, 55,000 IDR and it is worth every sen you paid for. One of the absolute highlights of my summer was escaping to the lush highlands of Ubud, Bali, and booking a stay at the Anantara Ubud Bali Resort. Among all the places we visited in Bali, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple was one of the most breathtaking.
