Breathtaking Batanes
Batanes is known for its scenic waters and terrain, It is open for swimming, snorkeling, diving, lighthouse visits, biking and visits to a century old Ivatan houses.
Another thing to fall in love with Batanes is its very clean and breathing environment, rock formations, wild horses that roam freely in vast pastureland.
The most interesting part for me is the Honesty Cafe,It is a sari sari store and coffee shop combined what's fascinating here is that there is no one looking for the merchandise here, there is this price list of the items and a drop box where you can put your payment.

Batanes
A lot of people want to go to Batanes because of the magnificent views, food, culture, and people. I was surprised the most of what they are saying is really true. First that i noticed in this place is the people. They just greet you and smile at you even if you dont know them. Our tour guide Sir Renz told us that in batanes if you did not greet them back they will think that you are arrogant or boastful. So expect all the people will greet you, say hi and hello. Second the food, i really love seafoods and as expected we are served with so many seafood dishes and i really had a hard time eating it all ahaha. The fish, all the shell fish, they all tastes good. And last the view, while at the tour, the are also other tourist visiting the spot and i taking photos with the beautiful scenery. The place on every part of the island is so majestic that you really want to stay longer. Of course, i am definitely going back in this place.

The House of Dakay
#summervacation
The Ivatans took it upon themselves to honor their land by conserving their origin and identity, and the island of Batanes is brimming with preserved culture.
One of their honorable characteristics is their endurance against the most powerful storms and earthquakes, which is best exemplified by the construction of their ever-beautiful stone houses.

#summervacation
Batanes, with its magnificent scenery, is a refuge of shifting moods.
The weather is mostly warm, but it can be cool and crisp at times and unfavorable at others.
The beauty of the location, on the other hand, will make your heart skip a beat.
Batanes is a tranquil and laid-back island paradise where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the cool wind and warm sun

BREATHTAKING BATANES
#summervacation
The pristine beauty of Batanes can be seen on its lovely beaches.
Morong Beach's waves are milder than those seen on other Batanes beaches, making it safer for tourists to swim.
It has pure white sand that rivals Boracay's.
It's also far more equitable than the other beaches in the province.

#triplocal One of the best places I’ve been with and the most memorable getaway so far! A trip with my former officemates. Despite being the path of every storm, this smallest province in the Philippines became the paradise of the north. The preserved culture of the Ivatan people, savory foods, the beautiful landscapes, and even the raging seas will make you fall in love to the breathtaking BATANES!

The underrated Basco: everyone who visits falls in love with it!
Basco is seriously THAT hidden gem you’re craving! This place serves up insane mountain vibes and sunsets that will make your camera roll pop off 🌄🌅. It’s a little off-grid, so you won’t find crowds just pure, peaceful scenes.
Food is basically made with love. Think home-cooked meals fresh from local kitchens, not fancy but sooo good! If you’re after a reset, this is THE spot.
If you want your soul refreshed, Basco would definitely work their magic on you.

Chasing chilly waves & adventure in Basco? My top must-see is Valugan Boulder Beach — a wild, wind-swept corner of Batanes perfect for landscape lovers and moody photo vibes 🌊🌫️
If you crave rugged beauty, Valugan Boulder Beach is your go-to spot! Located along Contra Costa Rd, this stretch isn't your typical sandy getaway. Instead, you'll find yourself clambering over giant volcanic boulders, with crashing waves and distant misty hills giving off total “edge of the world” energy. Trust me, sturdy shoes are a lifesaver here (the rocks are slippery and the surf is cold, so dress for the wind and always watch your step!).
While the weather can shift fast — think cloudy, rainy, and unpredictable — that just adds to the drama of Valugan. Bring a raincoat, keep your camera ready, and visit early before the crowds trickle in. Mornings are especially quiet, and even if the skies are moody, the view is seriously next level.
Getting around Basco is easiest by renting a bike or tricycle, both affordable and fun ways to explore at your own pace. Don’t skip the local fresh seafood or Ivatan cuisine in town; try casa Napoli for pizza or Octagon for local dishes.
Quick tip: There’s no shade or bathrooms at the beach, so prepare accordingly and pack out any trash. And always check the tide before visiting!

EDGE OF THE WORLD: Falling for the Magic of Batanes 🇵🇭
#winterescape
Ever felt like you’ve stepped inside a painting? 🎨✨ In 2026, Batanes remains the Philippines’ most breathtaking frontier—a land of emerald rolling hills, dramatic limestone cliffs, and a culture so honest it feels like a dream. Imagine the wind whistling through the Basco Lighthouse, the taste of fresh Uved (banana pith) meatballs, and the soul-stirring kindness of the Ivatan people. This isn't just a trip; it’s a journey back to the basics of beauty and serenity. Whether you’re standing on the edge of the world at Marlboro Country or touching the ancient stones of the House of Dakay, Batanes doesn't just show you its heart—it invites you to find your own. Ready to be swept away by the "Home of the Winds"? 🌊🌬️🏡
📍 5 Tips for Your Batanes Soul-Searching
✔️ Transportation: Skip the grab apps! Rent a bicycle (₱500/day) or a tricycle tour for a local vibe. In 2026, motorbikes are a popular way to cruise Batan Island, but use the traditional Faluwa (open boat) for the thrilling crossing to Sabtang.
✔️ Best Time to Travel: March to May offers the calmest seas and sunniest skies. For a "Scotland-like" experience with cooler winds and moody clouds, visit in January or February.
✔️ Must-Visit Spots: Rakuh a Payaman (Marlboro Country) for 360° views, Valugan Boulder Beach for its volcanic rocks, and the Sabtang Stone Houses for a walk through history.
✔️ Suggested Itinerary: Day 1: North Batan (Vayang Hills & Lighthouse). Day 2: Sabtang Island day trip (Chavayan Village). Day 3: South Batan (Marlboro Hills & Honesty Coffee Shop).
✔️ "Do’s & Don'ts" Tips:
• DO: Bring plenty of cash (Pesos); ATMs are rare and cards are almost never accepted outside large hotels.
• DO: Experience the Honesty Coffee Shop—where you pay and take change yourself!
• DON'T: Take stones or corals as souvenirs; the Ivatans are fierce protectors of their natural heritage.
• DON'T: Expect fast Wi-Fi; Batanes is your chance to disconnect and truly "be" in the moment.

WHERE THE WIND WHISPERS: The Magic of Batanes
#winterescape
Ever wondered where the world ends and a dream begins? 🇵🇭✨ In 2026, Batanes remains the Philippines' ultimate sanctuary—a landscape of raw, cinematic beauty where emerald rolling hills meet the thunderous Pacific. Imagine standing atop the Vayang Rolling Hills, where the only sound is the wind, or walking through the silent stone villages of Sabtang, where centuries-old Ivatan traditions live on in every limestone wall. Batanes isn't just a trip; it’s a soul-cleansing experience. Whether you’re reflecting at the Honesty Coffee Shop or watching the sun sink behind the Basco Lighthouse, this northern paradise proves that the best things in life are slow, simple, and breathtakingly beautiful. Ready to find your "peace" in the Land of the Howling Wind? 🌊🏯🐑
📍 5 Tips for Your Batanes Odyssey
✔️ Transportation: Flights land in Basco. Once there, the "Cogon" tricycle is the iconic way to get around (₱200-₱500/tour). For slow-travel lovers, renting a bicycle (₱300/day) is the best way to soak in the Batan Island views at your own pace.
✔️ Best Time to Travel: March to May is the "Dry Season" goldmine—clear skies and calm seas. For a cooler, misty vibe, try December to February, but be prepared for possible flight delays.
✔️ Must-Visit Spots: Rakuh a Payaman (Marlboro Country) for the iconic view, Valugan Boulder Beach, and the UNESCO-worthy stone houses in Chavayan Village.
✔️ Suggested Itinerary: Day 1: North Batan (Lighthouses & Hills). Day 2: Sabtang Island (Stone Houses & Nakabuang Arch). Day 3: South Batan (Marlboro Hills & Honesty Cafe).
✔️ "Do’s & Don’ts" Tips:
• DO: Practice "Leave No Trace"—Batanes is a protected landscape; respect the "sacredness" of the land.
• DO: Carry cash (PHP); ATMs are limited to Basco and card payments are rare.
• DON'T: Take stones from Valugan Boulder Beach as souvenirs; it's strictly prohibited.
• DON'T: Forget to say "Kapian ka pa nu Dios" (God bless you)—the traditional Ivatan greeting.

My solo travel in Batanes! From someday to FINALLY!🩷
📅 Itinerary
Day1:North Batan Tour
Day2: South Batan Tour
Day3: Sabtang Island

🍴 Food Recommendations
I haven't explore much of the food since I am more of the spot and nature but I often eat at Beehan which is a few walk from my accommodation. I went to Harbour Cafe twice but unfortunately they were closed 😅 Try also having your lunch at Sabtang De Figura Cafe! They offer Lobster and local dishes.
📌 Tips
I went to Batanes alone. I booked my flight and tour separately which save me I think 3k pesos. But if you will be travelling as a group better to avail complete package to save more! By the way I booked my tour at BATANES BYAHENG LOKAL (blue app page name) I highly recommend to avail their drone service mas ma-appreciate niyo ang ganda ng Batanes plus my guide kuya Dave was so hospitable never felt I was alone during the tour!

Basco Beach Bliss🌞
Valugan Boulder Beach—often spelled Vulugan by locals—is one of the most striking natural landmarks in Batanes, known for its dramatic coastline, volcanic history, and raw, untouched beauty. Located on the eastern side of Batan Island near Basco, this three‑kilometer stretch is famous not for sand, but for thousands of smooth, rounded andesite boulders that blanket the entire shoreline. These massive stones were formed after Mt. Iraya erupted around 400 AD, scattering volcanic rocks across the area. Over centuries, the relentless waves and strong Pacific winds polished these rocks into the smooth boulders seen today, creating a landscape unlike any other in the Philippines.

Chasing Vibes in Basco: Lighthouse Views & Cloudy Skies 🌤️
#hellonewyear Ready to vibe in Batanes? This place is pure magic. Basco is sooo peaceful—a total chill zone where you can just breathe out all the stress and soak up the views. 💆♀️💙
One spot you literally can't skip: Basco Lighthouse. With that classic white tower and sweeping 360° views of the ocean, hills, AND Basco town, it hits different! Whether it's cloudy and rainy or sunny AF, the landscape goes from moody and mysterious to *next level* stunning. The mix of rivers, lakes, ponds, and pure blue sea is all kinds of aesthetic. 📸
FYI, Basco Lighthouse is easy to find at FX27+HQJ Basco Lighthouse, Basco, Batanes, Philippines. It's open for exploring pretty much anytime—sunrise, midday, or golden hour, so just pull up whenever the mood hits. There’s strong architecture and peaceful nature scenes everywhere you look. ⛅

Your Guide to Batanes
Basco Lighthouse - One of the iconic symbols of Batanes
#falladventures
#travel
#familytravel
This is one of the lighthouses built in Batanes around the year 2000 to guide seafarers safely to the shore. While recently constructed, it has become one of the popular landmarks of Batanes, specifically of Basco in Batan Island, where it is located. You can climb its 83-step stairs right up to the top and enjoy the scenic view of the surrounding sea and Naidi Hills. On the ground floor, there's a small room that serves as a mini-museum, and close to the lighthouse is a big signage saying "I ♡ Batanes," great for photo shoots. It's a must-visit place when you're in Batanes. Everything is just breathtaking when you're in the province, or I am just being biased because it's my favorite place in PH. It's sunny and windy when I was there, so it was perfect, as you can see in the pics as well. I wanted to wait for the sunset, but my friends were adamant that we go to the next destination on our itinerary.
