From the moment I stepped out of the train station and walked slowly towards the city center, I could already hear the lively crowd of the parade and the sound of various musical instruments. The most interesting part was the paper scraps dropping on each other. Whether adults or children, they would keep dropping paper scraps on you, catching you off guard. As compensation, they would give us candy or a small gadget. The only pity is that all the tourist attractions, such as the church museum, were not open that day. I visited Hotel Märthof Basel during February 2023 together with my sister, and I can say for sure that we will definitely come back! It’s a relatively new high-end hotel in Basel, a perfect choice for your accommodation. I was first of all impressed by the service, as the staff were always kind, smiling and willing to help. Next is the interior design! The common areas were covered in black and gold colours and relaxed atmosphere. We stayed at the Marktplatz Suite which was huge with a really comfortable bed and a super aesthetic bathtub. The whole suite was beautifully decorated and offered an amazing view to the Marktplatz square. The breakfast included a great selection of everything we could ask for and the quality was excellent. You need to download Rail Planner to activate the e-ticket. Upon boarding, simply activate the pass and show the QR code to the conductor for verification—very convenient. Basel SBB Station was one of the transit points on this trip. Although the station is very large, the overall planning is excellent, the signs are clear and easy to understand, and there are professional staff at the information desk to help you. There are also supermarkets and shops inside the station where you can buy groceries and other necessities, which is very convenient. The station hall has a magnificent crystal chandelier and beautiful decor; it's a clean and bright station. 👍 From the station, you can easily connect to local public transportation, including trams and buses. The transportation system is well-planned and convenient for residents and tourists. 🧳
