RESORT WITH A PRIVATE POOL.
We decided to try this new luxurious seaside hotel in Penang which is exclusively designed by world-class, award-winning architects for the ultimate comfort of its guests.
We stayed for 6 days and it was truly an amazing experience.
The hotel is clean, well-organized, and the rooms are spacious with a beautiful sea view and breathtaking sunsets.
I especially loved the private pool and sauna in the room — such a unique and relaxing experience.
Special thanks to the reception for the warm welcome, professionalism, and excellent service which made our stay extra pleasant and memorable one.

A HALAL CHINESE MUSLIM RESTAURANT IN PENANG.
For those who want to get a taste of chinese food but want it to be halal then this is the place to go.
Well since the restaurant doesn't have pork so some of the dishes served here may not really taste as good as the standard Chinese dish but honestly the food is good.
Overall taste pretty good but I am comparing and rating this knowing it is halal. The restaurant is not really big so you only have limited seats but it is air-conditioned so overall a nice and comfortable environment.
Overall, we had an enjoyable time.

Festive Treats at Rich Baker, Queensbay Mall
#hellochristmas
Rich Baker at Queensbay Mall is a popular spot for freshly baked egg tarts, offering flavours like Original, Pandan, Yam, Cheese and even Musang King Durian. The custard is smooth and thick, while the crust is tasty though slightly less flaky if taken away. It’s a convenient place for a quick dessert break during shopping, with reasonable prices and good variety. Overall, a nice stop for egg-tart lovers looking for something simple and satisfying.

SPACIOUS SUITE WITH POOL, SPA AND BALCONY.
We stayed at Lexis Suites for 6 nights in December 2025. The rooms (suites) are excellent. Quite large (82 sq meters) with balcony, spa and pool and 2 x King beds.
Staff are very good and friendly and we were allowed to check in early since we arrived via ETS at 2pm.
The second day, the housekeeping cleaned our suite but not on the third and fourth days. Phone was not working when we stayed. We had to go to the reception twice to request to fix the phone, change towels and replenish our bottled drinks.
The housekeeping (foreign workers) need to be more attentive.
Nonetheless, the big red shopping bag was a good touch for visitors or guests to use the bag for shopping in Penang or carrying things to the pool.
The only issue is that the hotel is in an isolated area, quite far from anything. We used GRAB to get around which is quite expensive but the hotel does provide a shuttle (taxi) that leaves at 11am to Prangin Mall and Queensbay Mall. Do book a day earlier at the reception.
Room price is also very good. I recommend Lexis Suites Penang, just be prepared to spend a bit of time and money with GRAB or transport.
We found a few eateries next door selling fabulous nasi kandar, toast, half boiled eggs, coffee with butter, pasembur and fried kue teow which we find to be very affordable compared to other renowned eateries in town.

I was staying at Iconic Regency Serviced Suites and walked through this beautiful Iconic Marjorie, a Tribute Portfolio hotel and it was so beautifully decked up in Christmas decorations and this year its so beautiful, with a white, blue, gold theme and they are also offering these cute birds up for adoption.
The outdoor is also decorated with reindeers while Loom & Leafs are having their Christmas specials in term of Christmas Hightea Set and a few Christmas specials pastries and drinks.
Its a beautiful season to be celebrating here at Iconic Marjorie, a Tribute Portfolio.

Japanese cuisine in Penang
#penangspots
Robataya Izakaya at Queensbay Mall offers a spacious, warm Japanese dining ambiance that’s perfect for groups, families, or casual nights out. Located on Level 2 (Lot 2F-02), the interior blends traditional izakaya touches—lanterns, greenery, Japanese fans, even tatami-style seating—with modern décor. Lighting is soft but bright enough to see the food clearly; the layout allows for decent privacy between tables even though the place is large. The smell of charcoal grilling, fresh seafood, and sake adds sensory richness to the experience. Service is attentive, food presentation is polished. It’s not the cheapest Japanese option, but many feel the elevated setting and quality make it well worth the price.

✨Plaza Premium Lounge | Penang International Airport✨
Stepping into the Plaza Premium Lounge before my flight was such a smooth experience. The moment I checked in, I felt the difference, a calm space away from the hustle and bustle of the terminal.
🍴 Food & Drinks: The highlight was definitely the free-flow selection of food and beverages. From hot meals to light bites, everything was freshly prepared and well-presented, making it easy to grab a quick meal before boarding.
🛋️ Comfort: I found a cozy sofa corner to just sit back, relax, and recharge. The ambience was quiet and comfortable — the perfect spot to unwind while waiting for my departure.
Overall, the lounge added a touch of comfort and convenience to my journey after finishing 10km run the night before 🏃😂. A little escape before take-off that made the whole airport experience so much better. 🌿✈️

Nostalgic Breakfast in Penang – Joo Leong Café
#holidayitinerary #JooLeongCafe #BayanLepasEats #GoodOldKopitiam #CempedakDessert #SeafoodPorridgeHeaven #ClassicComfort
I dropped by Joo Leong Café in Sungai Tiram, Bayan Lepas for breakfast, and immediately felt that comforting kopitiam charm that Penang does best. It’s set in a wooden house, giving off total nostalgic vibes—one of those spots that makes the early wake-up worth it.
I dug into their famous roti bakar—two slices of crispy toasty bread slathered in buttery sweet goodness. Dipping it into the half-boiled eggs adds that perfect creaminess. Their Kopi O is straightforward but aromatic—classic, comforting, and just what you want to wake your taste buds.
Later in the evening, the place transforms in the moodiest mood: their seafood porridge (often called “hoo moy”) is next level—customisable with prawns, crab, cuttlefish, fish stomach, and even frog. The broth is rich, clean, and packed with seafood sweetness in every spoonful. It’s humble, but there’s something about that communal flicker of shared tables and steam rising from porridge that makes it unforgettable.
Travel Tips & How to Get There
• Where: 179-H Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (Sungai Tiram), Bayan Lepas—easy roadside spot, look for the wooden exterior.
• ⏰ Best Times:
• Breakfast from 7 AM to 11 AM for toast and eggs.
• Seafood porridge served later—dinner-style hours—go after 6 PM. (turn0search0, turn0search8)
• Parking: Street-side only and can be tricky during peak hours.
• Must-Trys:
• Roti Bakar with half-boiled eggs and hot Kopi O.
• Custom seafood porridge—big flavors in a homely bowl.

Flat Downstairs, Big Flavours: Breakfast at Bobo Kopi
#penangspots
Back then, this spot got popular because everyone wanted to check in with that iconic aluminium can.
Now it’s been swapped for a paper cup 🥤, but the crowds are still just as crazy.
The location? Right downstairs of a flat.
We chose to go on a weekday morning for breakfast — seating is limited, so basically, you have to watch which table is about to finish and stand right next to them to “chope” (typical kiasu Penang folks 🤭🤭🤭).
We even saw tourists coming straight from the airport, pulling their luggage along 😂.
The drinks stall owner isn’t exactly friendly, and drinks are a bit pricey.
As for the Hokkien Mee, the taste isn’t quite what it used to be. You order, get your number, and just wait patiently. Make sure to go early because once it’s sold out, that’s it 😂.
The best thing there? The Apom Telur made by the Indian uncle — it’s self-service!
The kopitiam itself has plenty of food options, so it’s worth exploring.

Sizzling Korean Comfort: Daseo at Queensbay Mall – A Summer Vacation Treat

Daseo is a great spot to unwind, recharge, and enjoy bold Korean flavors with a cheesy twist — an excellent pick for food lovers on a summer break in Penang. It’s a cozy Korean restaurant tucked inside Queensbay Mall. Their cheesy Korean stews and crispy fried chicken were indulgent and satisfying — perfect for sharing after a long day out.
We tried the Kimchi Shimson Stew and Cheese Fried Chicken, both rich in flavor and served hot in generous portions. The vibe was casual but energetic, with K-pop music and cheerful staff adding to the fun.
Some dishes like the seafood stew weren’t as flavorful, but overall, it was a comforting and tasty summer meal. Prices are reasonable for the portion size, though expect a slight wait during peak hours.

I would be back to try the suite room soon!
Simple love the farm-to-table little herbs garden beside the gym. Fantastic pool and the bar to chill in the evening!

Summer vacation is supposed to be all about relaxation, sunshine, and zero stress. Thanks to FedEx, that’s exactly what mine turned out to be!
