Small castle in Benderi, Moldova
I really have never tried to be the only one in the whole castle with my friends. But when I came to this small castle.
In winter, there is no charge and you can enter directly outside. The whole castle is empty, and you can feel the time alone in the ancient monument.
Benderi is a city in Moldova or Transnistria, located on the right bank of the Dniester River in the east of the country. Benderi was built in 1408.
In 1538, the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent seized the town from Moldavia and renamed it Benderi. Under the supervision of the Turkish architect Koji Mimar Sinan, its fortifications developed into a complete fortress of the same name. The Ottomans used it to keep pressure on Moldavia. (by wiki)
It is a complete fortress with no other outsiders. It is really a very special experience.

🗺️ Bender Travel Budgets
📍 Place:
Bender.
✨ What it felt like:
I felt surrounded by a lively sci-fi atmosphere, from tall illuminated towers to tube stations and floating vehicles. The darker evening scenes make the city feel especially energetic and full of character.
👀 What stood out:
A budget day is shown around $40–$65, focusing on pizza slices, capsule-style stays, walking, tube transport, and cheaper attractions. Mid-range travel rises to $90–$150 with comfortable rooms, restaurants, taxis, tours, and shows. Luxury reaches $250–$450, adding skyline suites, private transport, premium dining, and VIP experiences. I especially noticed how transport and accommodation create the biggest difference between the three styles.
💡 Exclusive tip:
I would buy a Tube Day Pass and group activities by area. My small trick is to save rooftop views for the evening, when the illuminated skyline gives photos much more atmosphere.
❤️ Personal feeling:
Bender looks like the kind of city where I would let the family slow down, notice every strange little detail, and laugh together at the unexpected moments.

I flew through Dubai, everything was on schedule, and the hotels I booked were unsuccessful. The first hotel is on the other side of the airport, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and it takes 15:20 minutes to get there. It costs $20. So, no matter what, you have to go somewhere, because the hotel is in a field, and you spend money on travel. The rooms are small. The second hotel to Turkey is just dirty, everything is broken, even the windows have no heating. I slept like I was outside. All other travel issues were excellent. The airlines performed well, no delays, complete comfort and attention during the flight.

Bendery Fortress
A huge well preserved 16th century Ottoman fortress in the south east of Moldova. For history buffs it is a fascinating place. The ticket includes entry to the fortress itself where you can walk around almost the entire 16th century ramparts, with great views of the surrounding area. The ticket also includes entry to the museums that are located within the Fortress one of them is the museum of torture. The museum is crammed full of different torture implements and although a bit macabre it is very fascinating. Another museum recounts the main event in the history of the castle and includes a model of how the castle would have looked in the 16th century.
