On the day of the visit, the pumpkin soup was exceptionally flavorful. The bread selection included fragrant herb focaccia and crispy breadsticks, perfect for dipping in olive oil with a sprinkle of salt—absolutely delightful. ➡️ Gamberoni all'Italiana, tagliatelle fatte in casa The star of this dish was the large, succulent prawns. The sauce, made with olive oil, garlic, and tomatoes, was tossed with perfectly chewy homemade tagliatelle. A truly satisfying dish. ➡️ Spaghetti alle vongole The spaghetti was cooked to al dente perfection and sautéed with olive oil, garlic, parsley, and tender clams. The flavor was quite enjoyable. ➡️ Tiramisu The tiramisu featured moist ladyfingers layered with creamy mascarpone, delivering an authentic Italian taste. This dessert was excellently prepared. The meal concluded with a cup of robust Italian-style coffee, paired with biscotti for a perfect finish.

The back of the cafe features a shady garden with outdoor seating, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food here is authentic Belgian cuisine. It is also served warm, like it was freshly baked in a wood-fired oven. It is held for only 3 days during the weekend before Christmas. It is a real Christmas market atmosphere for locals, which is a different experience from big cities or famous tourist cities. So, let's stop by and take a look. The Christmas market here has various shops set up in tents, a Santa's cottage, and the surrounding area is decorated with Christmas trees and bright lights. There are rides for children such as a carousel, target shooting, game machines, etc. There is a stage for concerts. As for products, there are various ornaments and food such as cheese, chocolate, pizza, whole roast pork skewers, French fries, churros, various drinks, and smoutebol, or round dough balls fried until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside sprinkled with icing sugar. We ordered the following dishes: ➡️ Yakitori Grilled Chicken Skewers - The chicken is soft and grilled to a nice aroma. It's quite good. ➡️ Chicken Gyoza - Served with a thick, sweet and salty sauce, the same as yakitori sauce. There is no proper gyoza dipping sauce. ➡️ Spicy California Roll - Sushi roll with crab sticks, cucumber, omelet, wrapped in avocado, topped with spicy mayo. I didn't feel any spiciness when I tried it, but the overall taste was okay, just like a normal California Roll. ➡️ Kamikaze Scampi - Roll with fried shrimp, avocado, and spicy mayo, which is not spicy at all. ➡️ Hot Green Tea - I ordered green tea, but I got Lipton green tea with apricot flavor, which was sour, so it felt a bit strange. The service is in Western style. They serve free rice crackers while you wait for your food. They also serve tea and biscuits. Overall, it's pretty good. You can tell from the fact that the restaurant is full from early in the day (we went around 6pm, which is quite early for dinner). Most importantly, it is conveniently located on the roadside with buses passing through. Even if you are not staying in the city, you can easily stop by if you take the bus that passes this stop. 🏠 Location / Atmosphere The restaurant is located on Paalsesteenweg Road, on the corner of Highway E313. In front of the restaurant is the Paal Veldstraat bus stop. It is a short walk away. If you rent a car, you can park in the restaurant's parking lot. It is spacious and convenient. As for the atmosphere, I must say that I really like it. The restaurant is a large building that can accommodate up to 250 people. There is outdoor seating at the back, and the surrounding area is decorated as a shady garden. Inside the building, there are 2 floors of seating. It is a high-ceilinged room decorated in a rustic style with exposed brick walls and wooden furniture, and is complemented by chic lamps. And a fancy bar converted from an old apothecary's cabinet. It gives off a very warm and cozy atmosphere. 🍽 Menu I tried ➡️ Complimentary Bread It's a bread with grains. The outer skin is quite hard and very thick, but the inside is soft and chewy. It's fun to chew. I like it. ➡️ Amuse Bouche It's pickled herring cut into tiny pieces, seasoned with a light, sour, sweet cream sauce and sliced ​​shallots. The taste is refreshing and fun to eat. ➡️ Duo van kaas - en garnaalkroket This dish is a shrimp croquette and a cheese croquette, served together, one piece each. Therefore, the room price compared to the newness and facilities in the hotel is considered to be very good value for money. It is suitable as a stopover point. The hotel is only about 200 meters from the nearest bus stop. The surrounding roads are flat and in good condition, so it is not difficult to drag your luggage. I heard that the area where the hotel is located is near the army area, which should be an area for soldiers to relax and exercise. There is a horse racetrack for horseback riding training, etc. Therefore, the view outside the window still has a lot of trees and grass to see. Looking far away, you can see horses running in the field. The hotel is a modern building in the style of a general Business Hotel. The lobby has a high ceiling that looks grand. The restaurant is divided into 2 sides of the building. The surrounding walls are all glass, giving a clear view of the surrounding area. In addition to breakfast, they also serve lunch and dinner. What's great is that there are unlimited drinking water, tea, and coffee available for free on the sofa in front of the lobby 24 hours a day. The wifi is also strong. It focuses on menus that you can make at home without being fancy. However, it uses good quality ingredients. Most importantly, the portions are large and filling. We ordered this menu. ➡️ Tapas van de chef – ... or a mix of tapas. Although tapas are usually snacks, I can tell you that the portions of this menu can be eaten by 3-4 people. You can order just one menu and go back home full without ordering anything else. If you plan to have a light snack before the main course, you should find a group of 10 people to help you eat it. The set includes... - Patatas Bravas – Small fried potatoes topped with Brava Sauce, a northern Spanish style. The main ingredients are stewed tomatoes mixed with Tabasco sauce and various seasonings to give it a little bit of spiciness. It's quite delicious. - Patatas Aioli – Fried potatoes with spices.
