Besides just walking around the lake, chose a simple hike up Ojstrica viewpoint (see first 3 pictures). Also did a boat ride to that island where the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary stood. Walked up Bled castle and explored the surrounding with no agenda, did not enter into the castle though because I don't see a need to. The beautiful weather in April was a blessing.

Lake Bled is known as the "Ice Lake" because the meltwater from the snow on the top of the Bled Mountains continuously flows into the lake. It is also known as one of the 30 most beautiful towns in the world. It was a sunny day when I arrived. The lake is surrounded by mountains. Walking around the lake, the scenery is beautiful from every angle! The most special thing about the lake is that there is a small island, Bled Island, on the lake, which is a completely fairy-tale scenery. I think this place is perfectly underrated, absolutely gorgeous! This time I chose to hike here and go to the observation deck to see the scenery, and it was really worth the trip. There are also many things to do nearby: 1️⃣Hiking 🔸Walk along the lake. It takes three hours to walk around the lake. If you include the observation deck and the castle, it will probably take longer. 🔹 Lake Bled has two viewing platforms located on the mountain, called Osoinica and Mala Osoinica. The Mala Osoinica Observation Deck offers a panoramic view of Lake Bled. You have to walk on a muddy road to get there, which is difficult to walk on after the rain. It is recommended to wear non-slip and comfortable shoes! ! 2️⃣ Take a boat 🔸Take the traditional cruise ship Pletnas on Lake Bled to the small island in the middle of the lake, and get close to the lake surface on the boat. Transportation ◻️Take the bus to Lake Bled The bus to Lake Bled departs from the capital, Ljubljana. The journey takes about 70 minutes and the ticket price is 6 Euros (there are various discount tickets to choose from). In summer, the bus departs every hour, and in winter, the bus departs depending on weather conditions. We were lucky as our group were the only ones in the popular tourist spot, allowing us to enjoy more of the beautiful natural scenery before more tourists arrive in the area. After taking a thousand photos around the wonderful crystal clear lake, we sampled the bled cream cake and some hot chocolate (perfect for this autumn weather) from a cozy restaurant fronting the lake —- allowing us to relax and enjoy our delicious fare while admiring such a magnificent view 😊🍂

This is the restaurant that every tourist is seeking out when traveling back to Slovenia. You'll find classic Slovenian staples here, very filling, heart-warming, good. I'd go so far as to say comfort food! Our meal here was well-deserved after climbing the stairs up and down from Bled Castle. The decor is classic gostilna style. We felt like we had a very authentic gostilna meal here. As you'll read in the menu, they make it a priority to locally source all of their ingredients. We went to Gostilna Murka and the menu offers a few different selections where you'll find "platter-style" entrees, so if you are looking to try a little bit of everything, I'd suggest these. We ourselves got the classic squid and potato, and creamy pasta, plus they gave you some sides to eat it with.
