Bow Lake is located along the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93), about:
38 km (30 min) north of Lake Louise

There’s a clearly marked parking lot directly off the highway. No 4x4 or hiking required.
🚶 2. Short Walks from the Parking Area
From the parking lot, it’s only a 1–2 minute walk to the lakeshore.
You get amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains without hiking.

#holidayitinerary
The Petite-Nation River: Name origin: The name “Petite-Nation” refers to the Weskarini Algonquin people—also known as the "people of the little nation"—who inhabited this region of Quebec . Course & history: Stretching ~97 km, the river winds from the Laurentians into the Ottawa River. Along its banks, historic developments such as a sawmill at Chutes du Diable and the now-gone village of North Nation Mills once thrived . On rainbows by rivers. Rainbows, of course, are formed when sunlight refracts through raindrops, creating a colorful arc. River valleys—especially those with moisture, mist, or post-rain conditions—are naturally conducive settings for such visual treats. Many rivers and streams around Ontario and Quebec are occasionally graced by rainbows, even if not widely documented.
