Here’s how we made the most of 6 hours, on a budget. 🚏Route: Morschach → Brunnen → Arth-Goldau → St. Gallen (Half Fare Card) 📋Itinerary: 🏛️ Abbey District 🎟️ Entry to the Library, Vaulted Cellar & Exhibition Hall: 18 CHF (✨ Free with Swiss Travel Pass) ⛪️ Cathedral: Free, open year-round. 🏰 Old Town + Gallus Square 📍Wander the charming Old Town with the cobbblestones, pretty facades, calm vibe. ⛲️Gallus Square has a fountain that feels straight out of Beauty and the Beast. Mimi had her moment as Belle. 🍴Food Stops ☕ Dunkin’ + Starbucks (both at the station).🛒 Coop run for “things we didn’t need but bought anyway.”🍔 Tried the McRaclette because when in Switzerland, I paid 20 CHF, painful but worth it. 🎥 Tiktok moment: Obligatory “we made it” Tiktok entry 🪣 Drei Weiern 👙Free entry! Swim, picnic, read, or sunbathe. 🏊Locals swim in summer & ⛸️ ice skate in winter. 🚿Hot showers + women-only area: 5.50 CHF We neither swim or read but we had ice cream and a little rest by the pond. 🍦 🚃 Getting There 🚋Take the Mühleggbahn funicular (2.40 CHF, 90 seconds) to St. Georgen. From Mühlegg: 🚶20-min walk to Drei Weiern. TIP‼️There’s a free summer shuttle (Bäderbus) to Dreilinden (weather-dependent). 🚌 Slide 7 — Going Back Bus No. 8 → St. Gallen Bahnhof — 2.40 CHF orr take the funicular back down to the Abbey District. 👣 If You Have More Time ⛪️ St. Laurence Church: 5 CHF, 186-step tower (March-November, Mon-Sat, 1hour every 10am & 3pm). 🥾Free Walks: Route: Mülenenschlucht Gorge - Bernegg Forest Distance: short and easy Duration: 45m Itinerary: Mülenenschlucht - St. Georgen - Bernegg Forest Route: St.Galler Brückenweg - 18 bridges Distance: 8.3km, medium difficulty Duration: 2h30m Itinerary: St.Gallen - St.Gallen Haggen - Stein AR - St.Galler Sittertobel - Spisegg, St.Gallen 🚲 Bike: Free bicycles at “Velostation”. 🪷 Botanical Garden: Free (Bus No. 1 → Naturmuseum). 🎫 Pass Tip‼️ Check your Swiss Travel Pass for free attractions I hope this guide could help you plan your next holiday in Switzerland. 🇨🇭 #falladventures #bucketlistdestination #budgetfriendly
