Wonderful Hotel with Family-Friendly Atmosphere
Overall: I can’t emphasize enough how much we loved this hotel and appreciated the excellent facilities and entertainment for both us and our 8-year-old. The food was fantastic (see photos)—a clean, well-managed hotel in a serene and appealing location. I’d gladly visit solo or with family as it offers plenty for kids of all ages. Most guests were French, Italian, and German, along with some delightful British families. Not overcrowded with rowdy groups, which we liked. I noticed one highly critical review online, but our experience was very different, suggesting their experience was an outlier.
Rooms: The rooms are spotless and cozy, with stylish furnishings, firm beds, and comfy pillows. Though I’d prefer two separate pillows instead of one long one. While Jet2 photos showcase fully modernized rooms, there are some variations in the refurbishment. Our room was clean and comfortable, with updated essentials such as functioning air conditioning and a TV. However, certain older features persisted, like worn bathroom details, yellowed switches, and the absence of USB sockets (refer to photos). A fan speed button fell off during our stay, but the staff promptly fixed it within a day. While the room was fine for sleeping, it wasn’t as sleek as the pictures suggested. Late checkout seems hard to arrange, but there’s a shower room (no air conditioning) available. However, improvements like towel hooks or partitioning the shower and toilet areas would make it more convenient.
Food and drink: Having experienced food-related illnesses abroad, I’m meticulous about food safety when choosing a hotel. The food here was fantastic and, importantly, safe. The main restaurant can get busy, and it would help if parents kept toddlers from running around or self-serving at the buffet, but that’s more of a parenting issue than a hotel one. The buffet variety changed daily, and several dishes were freshly prepared. Hygiene appeared excellent, and I confidently ate salads and drank beverages with ice without issue. The hotel also has a pizza restaurant and a Tex-Mex, though we only sampled Tex-Mex snacks. Drinks come in reusable plastic cups swapped with a card system—some might find it inconvenient, but it keeps the venue clean. We always got drinks with ease, including decent spritzers and beers.
Pools: With three spacious pool areas and plenty of loungers available throughout the day, finding a spot was never a problem. The children’s splash and slide area exceeded our expectations. It was also a peaceful place for sunbathing while the kids played. Our 8-year-old had a blast and made friends quickly. Pool towels are provided by the hotel for a deposit, which is a big help when packing light.
Location: The hotel occupies a large corner plot directly facing the beach. The surrounding area is quiet, leafy, and feels like a private cove. The lack of street sellers was refreshing, and most visitors were guests from the three nearby hotels in the area. Good road links connect you to bigger resorts if you crave a change of scenery. Several affordable shops are within walking distance, though the area lacks a central resort hub. For more activity, Cala Ratjada, offering a bigger beach, marina, restaurants, shops, and nightlife, is only about 10 minutes away. It’s accessible via a contactless-pay bus stop near the hotel or a €10–15 taxi ride.
Beach: Simply breathtaking! It’s sandy and directly across the road—practically no distance at all. Many guests bring pop-up tents or shades, and loungers can be rented. The water is crystal-clear on calm days, though large patches of seaweed are present, unlike Jet2's overly pristine photos. On windy days, the water may look less appealing, so aim for a calm day to visit this stunning spot at its best.
Entertainment: The hotel offers a wealth of activities with a clear schedule. Facilities include tennis courts, a splash pad with slides, a children’s play area, mini-fairground rides, free mini-golf, pool and table tennis, an arcade, a gaming room, and a well-equipped gym. Paddleboards are available to rent for about €16. There’s so much to explore within the hotel grounds that you could easily enjoy a different pool each day without ever feeling stuck.
Jet2 transfer time: The only downside that may prevent us from returning is the Jet2 coach transfer. Though advertised as two hours max, it took over 2.5 hours—longer than the flight! This makes the hotel less ideal for a short Majorca break. After waiting at the terminal for the coach to fill, it went to Porto Cristo and Cala Millor before passing our resort to drop off at further destinations, only circling back to us. Despite an early landing before 11 pm, we didn’t reach our hotel until after 2:30 am. The return transfer, however, took just 1.5 hours—proof the route can be improved. Another family shared a similar experience with an even longer transfer. Though this is an issue with the tour operator and not the hotel itself, it was frustrating enough to discourage us from rebooking. We recommend arranging a private transfer with Jet2, though that might raise costs. Despite the transfer, I’d return without a second thought if this issue gets resolved.
