The Titan Hotel room in Clybebank was just what I needed for one night.I connected with Dalmuir rail station to travel into City Centre.The Metallica concert at Hampden Park was a fantastic experience.I travelled to Falkirk by train from Glasgow Queen St. to see and ride on the magnificent egineering masterpiece that is the Falkirk Wheel.The Kelpies sculptures are approx 5km from the wheel and are equally impressive.Both are 5 star attractions.

#wheretogo Whiskey lovers will be delighted with this distillery! The whisky distillery tour was very informative, interesting and entertaining. It was an amazing place and we had a wonderful experience. The staff is wonderful, generous and passionate. The place is superb and the whiskey is really delicious. We ended the distillery tour at the tasting room where we received 2 different glasses of whiskey.

I apologize for taking a few weeks to write this! From the moment we checked in with two wonderful ladies (I forgot one of their names) and the lovely young gentleman who guided us to our room (I forgot his name too, sorry!), we felt so welcomed. Sabine was fabulous. We mentioned wanting to explore the sights, and she recommended a guy named John Clark. She organized everything for us, saying he was the best—and she wasn’t kidding! John made our day unforgettable. Not only was he a driver, but an amazing tour guide and even became our friend. We exchanged numbers and truly enjoyed every moment of our day with him as we visited Stirling Castle, the Kelpies, and took in all the sights along the way. Thank you, Sabine and John! As for the hotel, it was stunning and situated in a splendid location, within walking distance to everything. They even gave us a complimentary upgrade that made us feel like royalty. The bar downstairs was lively with cool bartenders, and the breakfast area and staff were excellent. Though we didn’t get a chance to dine at the nice restaurant, we heard it’s delicious. The doorman—Kevin, I think?—was fantastic. Now, here’s a great perk: earlier in our travels, we attended a formal wedding in Ireland, and we wanted to ship some clothes (including dirty ones) home to lighten our load. The staff went above and beyond to help us. A lovely young gentleman found a perfectly sized box, packed up all our things, and addressed the label for us! Tiadora (sorry if I’m spelling her name wrong) guided us through the customs requirements, and we recently received everything at home successfully. My husband and I loved Edinburgh and definitely plan to return. To The Edinburgh Grand and your amazing staff, thank you for making our stay so incredible. We’ll see you again!

Keith was simply outstanding! He greeted us at our hotel in his kilt and took us to St. Andrews and several charming small towns, sharing a wealth of history along the way. We also visited the breathtaking Glencoe, saw the Hairy Coos, and admired the Kelpies. It was clear how much he loves his homeland, and it was wonderful to have him share that passion with us. He was very accommodating, stopping whenever we needed or wanted to. A truly fantastic experience—5 stars without a doubt!

Falkirk was one of our sightseeing stops during our Scotland trip — a place we visited simply to see one of its most famous landmarks and enjoy a little walk around the area. Our main stop was The Falkirk Wheel, the impressive rotating boat lift that connects the Forth & Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. Unfortunately, when we visited, the Wheel wasn’t operating. So we didn’t get to see the impressive mechanism in action. Instead, we took our time walking around the Wheel, following the canal and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. With the water, open green spaces and walking paths around us, it was actually quite a pleasant place to slow down for a while. Later, we headed over to The Kelpies, Falkirk’s other famous landmark — two enormous horse-head sculptures standing proudly beside the canal. At 30 metres tall, they are quite something to see up close. What makes Falkirk interesting is how its industrial past is still visible today. The canals and working horses that were once part of everyday life have been transformed into landmarks and attractions, while modern engineering has given the area something completely new in the form of the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies. A leisure walk and sighting, a couple of impressive sights, and another little piece of Scotland discovered along the way.❤️

Ryan was the ultimate guide! He was incredibly friendly and well-informed about all the destinations, plus shared extra insights. He completely revamped our schedule and even stayed late so we could visit the Kelpies properly instead of just passing by. On top of that, he added a beach stop where we could hunt for sea glass. He never showed any frustration at our requests or made us feel hurried. He truly made the experience exceptional!

Our tour guide Barney was incredible. He met us at the airport and took us to Stirling Castle, providing plenty of insightful information about the area and the castle itself. Afterward, we headed to the Kelpies, which was another fantastic spot, before finally being dropped off in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is one of those cities where you can spend days wandering cobbled streets, discovering hidden corners and getting lost in history. But if you have a car and a free day, I’d seriously recommend leaving the city behind. Within an hour or so, the landscape changes completely. Suddenly there are dramatic cliffs, ruined castles, enormous sculptures and peaceful lochs waiting beyond the city. Here are five places I’d put on the road-trip list. 1. St Abb’s Head Start with the wild coast. St Abb’s Head feels like Scotland turned the drama up to maximum. Huge cliffs drop towards the sea, seabirds fill the skies and walking trails wind across the rugged headland. On a clear day, the water can look almost impossibly blue. Take your time here. Walk towards the lighthouse, breathe in the sea air and find a viewpoint where you can simply watch the waves crashing below. It’s the kind of landscape that makes you feel very small. 2. Blackness Castle Then head towards the Firth of Forth. Blackness Castle sits dramatically on the shoreline, its thick stone walls and towers giving it the appearance of a medieval warship pointing into the water. It’s easy to see why it has become one of Scotland’s most atmospheric castles. Walk through the old rooms, climb the towers and look out across the Forth. History feels particularly close here. 3. The Kelpies Then comes something completely different. The Kelpies are enormous steel horse-head sculptures rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape. They are genuinely huge. Seeing them in person is completely different from seeing a photograph, especially around sunset when the changing light catches the steel. Stay until evening if you can. The sculptures illuminated against the darkening sky are spectacular. 4. Tantallon Castle Next, head back towards the coast. Tantallon Castle is the kind of ruin that looks like it was designed specifically for a movie. The remains sit dramatically on the edge of the cliffs, with Bass Rock rising from the sea directly offshore. Walk along the old walls, look through the ruined windows and imagine what life must have been like here centuries ago. The view alone is worth the journey. 5. Linlithgow Palace Finish somewhere quieter. Linlithgow Palace sits beside the beautiful waters of Linlithgow Loch, surrounded by green countryside. The palace is now an atmospheric ruin, but its scale gives you a real sense of how impressive it must once have been. Walk through the old halls, climb as high as you can and look across the loch. It’s peaceful, historic and wonderfully photogenic. And that’s the thing about travelling around Edinburgh. You don’t need to drive for hours to find extraordinary places. One direction takes you to wild cliffs and seabirds. Another leads to medieval castles. Another brings you face-to-face with enormous steel horses. Went with my sister on Sunday, August 3rd. Took pictures of the bridges. Visited the Kelpies, Loch Lomond, Callander, and Stirling Castle... LOVED IT!! Amazing tour, excellent guide/bus driver. Very knowledgeable and even speaks Spanish. 10 out of 10.

My wife and I had an amazing Stirling, Falkirk, and Kelpies tour with Ricky in August 2026, plus some bonus stops at Doune Castle and Highland Cows. Ricky is a fantastic tour guide! He took us off the beaten path and gave a wonderfully detailed historical tour of Stirling Bridge and the Falkirk Wheel—absolutely perfect! This wasn’t a rushed bus tour; Ricky took his time, avoided crowded spots, and tailored the experience to our preferences. He also suggested a great family-owned lunch spot and even took a different route back to Glasgow so we could see some Highland Cows. Highly recommend booking a tour with Ricky—just share your interests, and he’ll create the perfect itinerary for you!

We booked a nostalgia tour of Stirling and Bannockburn with Michael, and he was absolutely wonderful. His knowledge of local history was impressive, and he shared many fascinating stories along the way. He ensured we visited all the places we wanted efficiently and comfortably in his Range Rover, always adding a touch of local insight. I have to start by saying that COLIN was an exceptional driver, leader, and tour guide—he deserved 6 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. He was cheerful, informative, and vibrant, striking the perfect balance with his chatter—not too much, just enough. He truly made the holiday memorable. Though the first 2¼ days were marred by rain, the last 1¾ days brought warm sunshine. I remember Colin joking, "The good news is there is only one cloud in the sky, the bad news is, it's bigger than Scotland." 😆 Colin was timely and precise every single day, ensuring smooth journeys, ferries, and stops. · *Monday, Day 1:** Colin turned the drive to Oban into a scenic road trip, with delightful stops at Luss on Loch Lomond and Inverary Castle and town. Accommodation in Tobermory was quite pricey, so I opted to book on my own. At £250 per night for a couple (£150 for solo travelers), it wasn’t cheap. However, the location on the promenade was perfect, despite my room’s view being just of a hill at the back. Colin was punctual as ever, helping us load up each morning. · *Tuesday, Day 2:** We began early at 7:30 am with a two-hour drive and ferry ride to Iona. Everything on the island was within walking distance, and places like the Nunnery, Abbey, Visitors' Centre, and Martyr's Bay cafe provided convenient shelter. One highlight was the optional trip to Staffa to see puffins and Fingal's Cave—a personal dream come true for me. While the boat ride was manageable, the time on the island felt a bit risky for me. There was a section with no handrail for about 100 feet, where I saw some people stumble and fall. Unfortunately, I decided to turn back before entering the cave, as I felt unsteady and lacked assistance like a walking stick. Others also had to turn back. · *Wednesday, Day 3:** The sunny weather made for a pleasant but leisurely drive to Calgary Bay (inspiration for Calgary, Alberta). Afterward, we took a short ferry ride to Ulva, a tranquil spot for photo opportunities, peaceful walks, a Telford-designed church, and the Boathouse. We returned early, giving us extra time to explore Tobermory at leisure. · *Thursday, Day 4:** The journey back to Glasgow featured two ferries and picturesque stops at Glencoe, Killen, and the Kelpies. We also passed landmarks like the Wallace Tower and Stirling Castle. Colin generously dropped off passengers at their hotels and kindly left me at Glasgow Central. The trip was absolutely worth it, even though no one can control the weather in July. Our tour guide Brian was absolutely awesome! We visited hairy coos, Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond, and the Kelpies. Brian shared captivating stories about Robert the Bruce and The Good James Douglas (The Black Douglas), who happens to be my 22nd great-grandfather. Hearing those tales was amazing! I felt the visit to Stirling Castle was a bit brief since I adore castles and missed exploring the kitchens and chapel. Other than that, every moment of the tour was wonderful. Thanks for such an unforgettable experience!

Good food

We had a wonderful day out, and Bernie, our bus driver, was incredibly friendly. Due to heavy bank holiday traffic, our time at the Kelpies was quite brief—but this wasn’t the company’s fault, just the result of a busy day. Visiting the Falkirk Wheel first and then the Kelpies might have improved the experience. Overall, it was a fantastic outing, and I’d rate it 10/10.

One of our group courageously took the wheel, enabling an incredible whirlwind tour of Scotland. The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking. Starting in Edinburgh, we made our way to Inverness, stopping midway to admire the impressive Kelpies. In Inverness, we enjoyed a Loch Ness cruise before heading to Oban/Argyll, staying at the delightful Knipoch Hotel. Although our island cruise was canceled, the hotel staff turned the day into a lovely experience. We ventured into Oban for the evening. The next day's cruise was also canceled, but the distillery tour and fresh seafood made up for it. Finally, we spent a couple of days in Glasgow before wrapping up the journey back in Edinburgh.

Our tour guide, Gerry, was phenomenal! He picked us up right from our cruise port and spent the whole day taking us on an incredible adventure. We visited Loch Lomond, Luss, the Coo’s, Kelpies, and Inveraray. Gerry’s knowledge made every detail fascinating and fun, and he even stopped for quick photo opportunities before we moved on. The atmosphere was great throughout, and my favorite part was interacting with the Coo’s—Gerry encouraged us to feed them and even brought a little brush for their noses! Gerry was outstanding, and I couldn’t have wished for a better guide in such a wonderful area. Thank you, Gerry, for everything!
