📅 Itinerary Day1:Arrived before checking in so had a spot of lunch from the small plates and a drink. Got in to room - The Paul Lawrie Suite. Room but tired bathroom obviously refurbished and lovely. Went for dinner at 8 - average meal nothing to shout about. Day2: Had kippers for breakfast - a treat as wouldn't have them at home for the smell! wee trip on the train to Dundee to visit the V & A and do a bot of shopping the. back to hotel for late lunch - we shared a club sandwich and fish finger sandwich - was tasty. Evening meal - hmm. Well I ordered wine, I had to give the type of wine three times even though it is on a menu that is not all that extensive. we had aske dfor water, I had to ask again 15 minutes or so later for said water. I opened for chicken caesar salad - really disappointing. The chicken was heavily spiced and very peppery - i couldnt eat it so ate the few lettuce leaves and few bits of bacon. A manager ( i assume) cleared our plates and I advised I wasn't happy with my main so we got complimentary desserts which was a nice thing to do but a few lettuce leaves doesn't fill me. Just left a poor taste in my mouth as the food and service here in the past has always been so good. Day3: Went for breakfast early - had cooked breakfast got given the wrong eggs. Breakfast was ok - poor haggis and well cooked sausage. We decided to get going to hit the train back north as early as we could. Checking out I was asked if everything was ok upstairs- i felt it was carefully asked as not to mention food / drinks experience. I checked over the bill - there as a service charge on it which I asked to be removed- we didn't receive a level of service I felt happy to pay for - and I normally always tip. Would I go back? im really not sure- after possibly up to ten visits in the past this one will take some thinking about to pay good money to try again. 🏨 Accommodation - Carnoustie Hotel 🍴 Food Recommendations - maybe venture out 📌 Tips - the alborino wine is lovely chilled watching the golfers on the 18th green

You will also encounter some common birds, such as blackbirds, blue tits, and grey-headed sparrows, who are also enjoying the tranquility and beauty here. 🐦 Stroll along the Mill Lade, through the traces of history, the remains of the water barriers that once hung water wheels appear before your eyes, the rushing water drives the water wheels, spinning non-stop. The intertwining of history and nature makes Craigmill Den a magical secret place like a paradise. 🌲🌊

We rent a car at Glasgow Airport, headed east to Silver sand beach, Dundee, and St. Andrews. We stayed in a hotel called Aboukir Hotel, which is near Carnoustie train station. The price of the hotel was reasonable and the equipment was nice. Recommend the gelato shop in St. Andrews. They also have a branch in Dundee! The road trip was amazing as you can enjoy the coastline and beach. Stop the car whenever you want!
