#MarchGoodPlaces2025 The first time I saw the White Windmill Village, it reminded me of Bonoi's Windmill on the hill of Mykonos in Greece. The White Windmill Village is located in the La Mancha region of Consuegra in Spain. The windmill was a tool used by farmers at that time to use wind power to drive the windmill to grind crops such as corn and wheat. There are 11 windmills on the hill, and each windmill has its own unique name. Today, the windmill only serves as a place for tourists to take photos and check in, but the interior of the windmill is open to the public. Looking out from the windmill window, you can see the olive trees planted in the La Mancha region. There are no buildings to admire on the hill except the windmill.

Probably the best place the see almost all the town or #toledo is the road just 1km southern of the center. Toledo is the old capital of the kingdom of #spain and it is located on a short drive from the nowadays capital - Madrid. It is an #ancient town and is really authentical and beautiful place that everyone who goes to the area should visit. I really enjoyed my walk around the town, but the best experience for me was this view in just 1km away. #happynewyear

To reach this almost abandoned town, you have to pass through farmland. The castle, built in the 15th century, is in a dilapidated state and on the verge of disappearing, making it a must-visit for those who love abandoned places. Surrounded by fields and free from light pollution, it is an excellent spot for nighttime photography, located less than an hour and a half from Madrid.

Climbing the hill is worth it. It takes about 10 minutes to ascend easily. Besides the archaeological remains, you can also enjoy the impressive views of Toledo. If you're a bit adventurous and not afraid of heights, you can sit on the rocks overlooking the cliff—it's an unparalleled experience. The sunset is stunning!

A Journey Through the Central Plateau of Spain ~ Toledo (Region) Though only remnants remain, they reveal that this was once a city ahead of its time. The ruins of the Roman aqueduct show how water was transported from the Guajaraz River dam, located over 38 kilometers away in the mountains, to supply the city of Toledo. Part of the aqueduct consisted of a three-tiered arched bridge. Unfortunately, today only a few arches remain on the slopes of the Tagus River, but they are enough to give us a sense of how impressive its length and height must have been.

There are several options for visiting: €6 for the castle tour, €7 for the castle and mill tour, and €8 for a guided tour. The castle is well-preserved, and the visit doesn't take too long. At a normal pace, it takes about an hour, especially if you enjoy taking your time to read and learn about its history. The surrounding environment is stunning, and the addition of the mill makes it even more picturesque. I arrived at the last moment, just in time to catch the beautiful sunset. Highly recommended for a visit!

The mill factory is quite large, featuring seven mills, two of which house boutique shops selling clothes, bags, and hats. One shop charges an entrance fee of €1.5, while the other is free to enter. You can climb the stairs to the top to see the inner workings and mechanisms of the mills. Here, you can take in breathtaking views, feel the breeze, and capture amazing photos.

Unfortunately, the palace is now closed and turned into ruins. You can only look outside and take a beautiful photo from a distance! Although you can't go in and feel the splendor, just stand in front of the main entrance and you will be really shocked by its grand appearance. This location is perfectly situated near a town called "Tembleque." It is a popular destination throughout the day, attracting many visitors. The windmill cluster is of medium size, but everything is well-organized and preserved in its original state and location, which I truly appreciate. However, since these windmills are no longer operational, public access is restricted. Only maintenance personnel are allowed to enter to ensure they remain in good condition. As a result, the windmills are kept very clean and are regularly maintained. This spot also serves as a great viewpoint, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and the town of "Tembleque." At night, two of the windmills are illuminated with spotlights, allowing visitors to enjoy their beauty even after sunset. I particularly love this feature as it makes the site accessible at any time of the day. The area is generally quiet due to the limited number of visitors, making it an ideal place to enjoy the sounds of nature.

Later, this house served as an old inn providing accommodation and food for travelers during their rest periods. Throughout its history, it has had various uses, including providing lodging for cavalry and postal workers. It seems that it was later used as a barracks for the National Guard and as a studio for the Templeque Workshop School. In recent years, it has even housed a bar.

The two-story passenger terminal is clad in pink stone, with a tiled roof and blue doors and windows. Tembrque Train Station is located at kilometer 101.1 of the Iberian Railway Line connecting Madrid and Valencia. The station has two platforms and six tracks, serving Renfe's Line 57 medium-distance train, which runs on the Madrid Chamartín-Alcázar de San Juan-Los Llanos Albacete route. Trains depart twice daily from the station to Madrid Chamartín and Los Llanos Albacete, with an average journey time of 1.5 hours to Madrid Chamartín and 2 hours to Los Llanos Albacete. Hiking through the Central Plateau of Spain ~ Toledo (Region) By the river, you can enjoy the view of Escalona Castle. The water is cold but perfect for summer. We had a great time, but during summer, you must bring sun loungers and umbrellas because the sunlight is very strong this year. It's a great spot to do something different and spend quality time with friends or family. It's recommended to bring water shoes or flip-flops for the river, as you might encounter pebbles before stepping into the water. However, the moderately flowing river will make your experience truly enjoyable.

The moment I arrived in Toledo, my heart couldn't help but race at the breathtaking scenery. Below the medieval city, the **Tagus River (Río Tajo)** flows, spanned by the San Martín Bridge (Puente de San Martín). With its five arches and defensive towers at both ends, the bridge exudes the grandeur of the medieval era. 🚶♂️ A Walk on the Bridge In the early morning, when there are fewer people, it's the perfect time to stroll leisurely across the bridge and take in the city and the river. • Standing by the statue in the middle of the bridge, I was reminded of the legend about the architect's wife setting the bridge on fire. • Crossing the bridge leads to the Jewish Quarter and old alleyways, making it feel as though Toledo is inviting you back in time. On the other side of the bridge, perched above the river, stands the **San Servando Castle (Castillo de San Servando)**. Originally a monastery in the 11th century, it later became a fortress and is now used as a hostel and conference venue. Climbing up to the castle offers a breathtaking view of the Tagus River, with the entire city spread out like a painting above the water.
