Provence is so much more than the postcards. If you’re looking to trade the crowds for a slower, more intentional pace, these five villages are waiting for you: 🕹️Crestet: A village defined by its historic stone architecture and inviting, narrow passages. 🕹️Séguret: Notable for its beautiful stone archways, blooming oleanders, and quintessential Provencal charm. 🕹️Sault: Characterized by its rustic wooden elements, lush climbing greenery, and traditional staircase designs. 🕹️Bormes-les-Mimosas: A vibrant destination featuring lush, sun-drenched terraces, blooming flowers, and inviting outdoor dining spaces. 🕹️Gigondas: Known for its scenic hillside vistas, traditional tile-roofed houses, and surrounding natural beauty. There is a deeper meaning in travel when you stop being a tourist and start being a traveler—finding purpose in the quiet, hidden corners of the world. Which one of these would you explore first? #Provence #FranceTravel #HiddenGems #SlowTravel #VillageLife #ExploreFrance #TravelDeeper #WanderSlowly #AuthenticTravel #ProvenceFrance

📍 Location: Roussillon (Luberon Mountains, Provence) When visiting Provence, besides the must-see lavender fields, you absolutely can't miss Roussillon, the "Red Ochre Town" hidden away in the Luberon mountains! Built atop ochre cliffs, the town's most striking feature is that all the local buildings are painted with natural ochre pigments mined right in the area. Strolling through the alleys, the houses display beautifully layered warm tones ranging from golden yellow and bright orange to deep crimson. Bathed in the southern French sun, it looks just like an oil painting. Standing on the observation deck and gazing out at the steep red earth terrain, our group couldn't help but exclaim, "Isn't this just a mini version of Bryce Canyon in Utah?! 🤣🤣" While it shares that same breathtaking and majestic red rock landscape, Roussillon adds a touch of French elegance and romance. Wandering through the historic alleys filled with traces of time, you'll find ancient geological wonders on one side and cozy French cafes with artisan shops on the other. This unique visual contrast is seriously mesmerizing!

One of the most beautiful villages in Provence, France, Lourmarin is officially recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Nobel Prize-winning author Albert Camus and writer Henri Bosco are both buried here. You can explore their former homes and graves along the village’s alleys to feel the artistic atmosphere. 📍Château de Lourmarin This Renaissance-style castle was built in the 15th century and displays the 20th-century owner’s collection of artworks, furniture, and medieval architectural details inside. The entire village is built from warm-toned natural stone, with winding alleys spiraling around the central clock tower. Blue-green contrasting wooden shutters, stone walls covered in vines, and old fountains at every corner create picturesque scenes perfect for film-like photos. Fridays are especially lively in the village, with many people visiting the market. Fresh fruits and vegetables, Provence herbs, and dried lavender bouquets fill the air with authentic Southern French charm 🥬 The village is small, and a leisurely two-hour stroll is just right. Sitting at an outdoor café with a lavender soda while watching locals stroll slowly makes time seem to slow down naturally. The Renaissance castle halfway up the hill is the highest point, offering panoramic views of the vineyards and olive groves. The castle’s underground wine cellar offers free tastings of local wines 🍷 Deep in the village cemetery lies Camus’s simple tombstone, quiet and solemn, making it a meaningful stop for literature lovers. 🕣 Opening Hours: Open daily except January; only weekends in January. ✅ Concise Practical Guide at the End 📍Transportation 1. Self-driving: Best option, 35 minutes from Aix, 58 minutes from Avignon, with easy mountain roads. 2. Public Transport: No train station; take ZOU909/919 bus to the village center station, transferring from Aix TGV high-speed train station. 3. Car Rental: Europcar rental is available inside Marseille train station. After completing the paperwork, pick up the car in area B2 and return it at the same spot. Refueling costs about 20 euros for the return trip, making the whole process convenient and worry-free. 🅿️ Parking Bastides parking lot at the foot of the castle hill has plenty of free spaces; the village core is pedestrian-only, no driving allowed. ✅ Must-Visit Spots 1. Château de Lourmarin: climb the tower for views + free wine tasting 2. Medieval Spiral Alleys: concentrated spots for shutters and fountains perfect for photos 3. Friday Morning Market (small farmers’ market on Tuesday evenings) 4. Camus Cemetery 5. Street galleries and handmade fabric shops ✅ Useful Tips 1. Visit Duration: 2 hours for village stroll; half a day including castle and market 2. Best Season: June to September, when lavender fields and vineyards are at their best 3. Dress Suggestion: Light-colored long dresses to complement the warm yellow stone background for photos 4. Village Dining: Focus on Provençal stews and handmade pizzas with great value

Fontaine-de-Vaucluse is undeniably picturesque, with its clear spring, rocky surroundings, charming village streets, and peaceful Provençal atmosphere. But after visiting, I found myself wondering if the experience quite matched the expectations created by its reputation. 🌿 The scenery was pleasant, and I enjoyed exploring the village and walking along the water, but compared with some of the incredible landscapes I experienced elsewhere in Provence, it didn’t leave quite the same impression on me. Perhaps it was the crowds, the expectations, or simply the fact that I had imagined something more extraordinary. Sometimes a place can be beautiful and still feel a little overhyped. Still, every destination is worth experiencing for yourself—and that’s the beauty of travel. What feels overrated to one traveler might become someone else’s favorite discovery. 🇫🇷✨ #france #OverratedSpot #FontaineDeVaucluse #France #Provence #ProvenceTravel #SouthOfFrance #FranceTravel #TravelExperience #TravelThoughts #EuropeanTravel #TravelMemories #ExploreFrance #TravelOpinions #Wanderlust #overratedspots

It is open daily without charge. This garden is an offshoot of the older Jardin botanique de Bordeaux, located across the river. The garden opened in 2003 and is organized into six sections, including an arboretum, fields of grain, an alley of vines, and a water garden (1,250 m²). It also contains greenhouses, as well as eleven landscapes representing the environments of Aquitaine, including dune, cliff, wet grassland, moorland, etc. #familytrip #mytravelhacks #freehotelstay #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip #paris #falltrip #couplestrip #2023 #holidayvacation #passionpassport #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #tripblazers #awesomepic #cafe #awesomepic #celebratewithtrip #couplestrip #2023travelwish #passionpassport

#kindnessontheroad Sometimes, the best travel memories aren't created by famous landmarks—they come from unexpected moments with kind people. While exploring the beautiful streets of Avignon, I paused to check my map, unsure which direction to take. Before I even asked for help, a friendly local noticed my confusion and kindly pointed me toward the historic center with a warm smile. That simple gesture completely changed my day. Instead of feeling lost, I felt welcomed. As I continued walking through Avignon's charming streets, I noticed the same welcoming spirit in local shop owners, café staff, and people enjoying their afternoon. A smile, a greeting, or a few helpful words may seem small, but they can make a destination feel like home. Travel isn't only about discovering beautiful places—it's also about connecting with people. Kindness doesn't require a shared language; patience, respect, and a genuine smile are often enough to create meaningful moments. If you visit Avignon, don't just admire its historic beauty. Slow down, greet the locals, and be open to simple human connections. You may leave with memories that are even more valuable than your photos. #KindnessOnTheRoad #Avignon #France #TravelMemories #HumanConnection #TravelWithHeart

#celebratewithtrip Walking in the alleyways of Roussillon The village is very beautiful, the yellow and ochre colours tint the houses and you can enjoy discovering the narrow streets. We enjoyed a walk in this small village with colourful houses. At every corner of the street, we discover new colours. At the bend of a crossing, a narrow staircase leads us to another alleyway. The colours are warm and we appreciate the visit. The house with ochre colour decorated with rosebushes and flowers. The village also offers beautiful views of the surrounding area. #roussillon #francetravel #friendstrip

Stepping through the ancient stone ramparts of Avignon feels like traveling straight back to the grandeur of the Middle Ages. Nestled along the banks of the Rhône River in Provence, this historic city is famous worldwide for its imposing Gothic architecture, sun-drenched squares, and rich papal history. Strolling down the lively cobblestone lanes, hearing the cicadas humming in the plane trees, and catching sight of the iconic broken bridge stretching over the water gave me an unforgettable taste of southern French heritage. ☀️🌿 . 📅 What I experienced · The Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes): Exploring the largest Gothic palace in the world was an absolute marvel. Walking through the cavernous medieval halls and grand chambers offered a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the 14th-century popes. · The Pont Saint-Bénézet (Pont d'Avignon): Walking out onto the famous medieval bridge that abruptly stops midway across the Rhône River, bringing the classic children's song to life against a backdrop of sweeping river views. · The Rocher des Doms: Climbing up to this elevated public garden perched high above the river for a stunning panoramic view of the city rooftops, the sprawling vineyards, and the distant Mont Ventoux. . 🏨 Where I stayed · I stayed in a charming boutique hotel housed in a historic 18th-century townhouse right within the old medieval walls. It was the perfect quiet sanctuary, just a short walk from the central Place de l'Horloge and the bustling outdoor cafes. 🛏️☕ . 🍴 My culinary highlights · Provençal cuisine is a celebration of sun-ripened ingredients and rich southern flavors. I savored a delicious *daube de taureau* (slow-cooked regional beef stew), accompanied by a glass of robust, earthy Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine produced just up the road. 🥩🍷 . 📌 My tips for visiting · Visit During the Festival in July: Avignon hosts one of the world's largest performing arts festivals every summer. If you go then, the city is bursting with street theater and energy, but you must book accommodation months ahead. · Explore the Surrounding Vineyards: Avignon is the gateway to the Rhône Valley wine region. Taking a short afternoon trip to explore legendary wine villages like Châteauneuf-du-Pape or Gigondas is a must for wine lovers. · Wear Comfortable Walking Shoes: The historic center is pedestrian-friendly, but navigating the ancient stone streets, staircases, and ramparts involves plenty of walking. 📸🎒 . #Avignon #Provence #FranceTravel #VisitAvignon #TravelDeep #PalaisDesPapes #PontDavignon #BucketList #ExploreFrance #TravelDiaries

Early autumn in Provence is just so healing✨ The weather is just right—cool and comfortable. When the sun is out during the day, it feels warm and cozy. You can sit at an outdoor cafe and space out for an entire afternoon without feeling hot☀️ 🍂There are far fewer tourists than in peak season No need to squeeze through crowds to take photos; every frame is full of relaxed vibes Walking on the cobblestone paths, with the occasional breeze and sunlight filtering through the plane tree leaves, the whole town is bathed in a golden filter🌿 🌾The best surprise is that various fruits and crops are starting to be harvested! The markets are filled with fresh local produce, as colorful as a painter's palette Picture 11 shows fruit grown by an old gentleman at the Menerbes market; one bite and it's sweet straight to the heart💛 This is the lifestyle Southern France should be about—not rushing between attractions, but living life like a poem📖 If you're looking for a place to clear your mind during the October holiday, I highly recommend visiting Southern France🚶‍♀️ No rushing, no crowds, just sunshine, cobblestone paths, and the scent of fruit for company🍇

Who understands, sisters?😭 Before going to southern France in August, I did three days of research. But on the first day in Provence, the GPS led me onto a signal-free mountain road, with sun-bleached stone walls and cicadas chirping on both sides—— I tore up my itinerary on the spot. Not giving up, just really didn’t need it anymore. 🪨 What to see in Provence in August Many think lavender is only in July. That’s true—by late July, the Valensole Plateau is basically harvested. But! Sault village is at a higher altitude. In 2026, the bloom extended into early August. The Chinese Consulate in Marseille even issued a reminder this year, saying spring rains were abundant, so the late bloom areas were delayed by about a week. When I arrived on August 3, Sault still had the last patches of blue-purple swaying in the wind, while sunflowers had already taken over, covering the valley in golden yellow. The two colors collided, and I stood on the ridge stunned for a full ten minutes. 🏘️ Stone village Gordes | Arrive before 9 AM Search “Parking Place de la Charles de Gaulle” on your GPS. This is the main parking lot at the village entrance. In August’s peak season, there really are no spots after a certain time—I saw three cars queueing on the mountain road after 10:30 AM waiting for a spot. The village itself is small, with stone-paved streets. Wear flat shoes. The focus isn’t on “walking around” but on “looking”—from the village entrance viewpoint facing south, the entire Luberon valley spreads out below, with terraced fields, cypress trees, and distant gray-blue ridgelines. The August air is dry and clear, with visibility unbelievably good. ⚠️ There’s a market in the village on Tuesdays where locals sell olive oil, handmade soap, and dried flower bouquets. It’s a hundred times more authentic than the souvenir shops in tourist areas. 🔴 Ocher village Roussillon | Provence’s color palette Less than a 10-minute drive from the stone village. Search “Parking du Sentier des Ocres” for parking. How to describe this place? The entire village’s walls, ground, and steps are made of natural ocher-red earth. In the late afternoon around 4 or 5 PM, the slanting sun turns the cliff face a fiery orange-red. I took over 200 photos with my camera but found none could capture the shock I saw with my own eyes. The village has a dozen galleries, all local artists painting with ocher pigments—not cheap wholesale stuff. Walk into any one, and the owner will probably offer you a glass of ice water and chat for a while. 🛁 About soaking in the hot spring and stargazing that night The estate is hidden behind a century-old olive grove. Opening the wrought iron gate reveals a typical Provençal limestone courtyard covered in wisteria. The room has a 13-foot-high French vaulted ceiling, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the valley. At dusk, you can see mist rising from the valley floor. But what I keep thinking about is the natural hot spring pool—fed by deep underground thermal springs, the temperature stays steady at about 100°F. Only a few copper lanterns are placed around the pool. August days in southern France reach the mid-90s, but at night, the mountain breeze cools the air. Immersed in the warm water, under a starry sky free of light pollution, with only cicadas chirping and distant church bells ringing, I soaked for nearly an hour. When I got out, my skin was unbelievably smooth. All those work emails, deadlines, and unread messages were steamed away. 🚗 Travel tips | Avoid pitfalls when driving in August ▪️ The 2026 French Schengen visa now offers an e-visa channel with much faster approval than last year. Submit your application one month before departure to avoid delays. ▪️ Picking up a car at Avignon TGV station is most convenient. From the airport, take the A7 highway for 40 minutes. Rent a small car—many roads in the Luberon mountains are narrow and passing is difficult. Big cars will really struggle. ▪️ Highway tolls in August aren’t cheap. One-way toll from Avignon to Marseille is about €12–15. Have your credit card ready. ▪️ Parking in villages is mostly free or costs €1–2, but never park on the roadside over vineyards. Fines can reach €135. Don’t ask me how I know (not me, but a fellow traveler who got caught). ▪️ If you don’t want to drive, take bus 7 from Avignon to Cavaillon, then transfer to 15.3 to reach the stone and ocher villages. But buses run infrequently—about every 2 hours in August. Check schedules in advance. 📌 August weather tips Sunscreen must be at least SPF 50. The Provençal sun is no joke—I didn’t apply it to my neck on day one and got sunburned. Carry water with you; a bottle of mineral water costs €2.5 in village shops. Also, August is when the French take their own vacations. Many small restaurants close from 12 PM to 2 PM and before 7 PM. Don’t wait hungry—check opening hours ahead. Provence isn’t a place to “check off” on a list. It’s where you sit in the shade of a stone wall, bite into a peach freshly bought from the market, juice dripping down your fingers, and suddenly feel— Ah, life is good. That’s it. See you in August🌾

I woke up to such a beautiful morning here in Lourmarin! It’s sunny with a crisp, cool breeze—perfect weather for a stroll. I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out from my research and classes in Cebu, so I’m incredibly grateful for this short getaway. This morning, I wandered through the narrow, cobblestone alleys. It was so peaceful; the only sound was the birds chirping. I visited Lourmarin Castle and found a tiny garden at its base. There were wild birds, and I even spotted a cute squirrel foraging for food! You know how much I love animals, so I just hung out there for a while, watching them while enjoying a freshly baked croissant. My feet are a bit sore from all the walking on those rocky paths, but the fatigue vanished the moment I saw the sunset over the mountainside. It’s so relaxing here; it feels like a place the rest of the world has forgotten.

At first glance, Shangguan Town seemed unremarkable; the streets were sparsely populated, and not a single tourist was to be seen. But as we walked uphill along the riverbank, the scenery became increasingly captivating, and the surroundings grew ever quieter. Occasionally, local villagers would leisurely cycle by, their lives unfolding at a remarkably slow pace. The scenery along the way was picturesque; every snapshot was a masterpiece of natural beauty. Reaching Qingsuo Village, we were truly awestruck. The village possessed a gentle, welcoming atmosphere. A kind grandmother even asked us if we were lost or looking for relatives, revealing that few outsiders frequented this place. The village rules displayed on the walls added to its rustic charm. On the return trip, what surprised me most was the price: a bowl of rice noodles for 6 yuan and wontons for 8 yuan, the taste just as good as in the old town—this was the true value of a small town. We also stumbled upon free restrooms and parking spaces along the way. While resting, we unexpectedly learned that a Spring Festival celebration was being held across the street, so we joined in the fun. We also heard there was a local market this Saturday. Without the hustle and bustle, without commercialization, only genuine human kindness and affordable delicious food, this off-the-beaten-path trip is truly worthwhile!

✨The stones here can drink wine✨ If you’re traveling in Southern France, don’t just check in at Avignon! Be sure to set aside half a day to a full day for the nearby “Wine Empire” — Châteauneuf-du-Pape! 🏰 📜 A Little History Lesson The name literally means “The Pope’s New Castle.” The story goes back to the 14th century when the Popes didn’t live in Rome but moved to Avignon. The Popes were all serious wine lovers 🍷, especially Pope John XXII, who built a summer castle in the village and actively promoted grape growing. This place became the “happy water” production base for the Popes, and the wine was called “Vin du Pape” (the Pope’s wine). Although only ruins remain of the castle now, the sense of history combined with the vast vineyards is truly breathtaking! 🏞️ The Terroir: Stones Kissed by God The vineyard landscape here is stunning! The ground is covered with large, round pebbles called Galets. · ☀️ Natural Warmers: These stones absorb heat fiercely during the day and warm the grape roots at night, helping the grapes ripen. · 💧 Drainage Geniuses: The poor soil forces the vines to root deeply, producing intensely concentrated fruit flavors. This area enjoys up to 2800 hours of sunshine annually, and with the protection of the Mistral wind, it’s hard for grapes not to thrive. 🍷 Wine Guide: Not Just Red Wine The entire appellation has over 3,100 hectares of vineyards with huge production, but white wine accounts for a mere 1%, making it very rare! 🍇 Red Wine: The reds here mainly feature GSM blends (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre). They are full-bodied with rich spice, red fruit, and herbal aromas, and have great aging potential. · 💡 Identification Mark: Look for the embossed emblem on the bottle — two crossed keys and a papal tiara! This symbolizes their prestigious status, and only wines from here can use this mark. 🥂 White Wine: Though scarce, the whites here are very high-end! Made from varieties like Roussanne and Clairette, they are full-bodied, explosively aromatic, beautifully acidic, and capable of aging. 🏰 Must-Visit List 1. Castle Ruins (Le Château): Be sure to climb to the hilltop ruins! Though only walls remain, it offers the best panoramic view of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape plains and the Rhône Valley. Looking out over the endless “sea” of vines while feeling the breeze is so healing. 2. Stroll the Village: The town itself is very charming, with many ancient stone buildings. Drop into any Cave (wine cellar), and the owners will warmly invite you to taste their wines. 3. Pilgrimage Wineries (Reservation Recommended): · Château Rayas: It looks like a spooky old house but produces top-tier art wines, 100% Grenache, and is very hard to book! · Château de Beaucastel: A favorite of Robert Parker, their “Hommage à Jacques Perrin” is legendary. · Clos des Papes: Extremely consistent quality, a regular on the tables of former French presidents De Gaulle and Pompidou. 📸 Photo Tips · Background: Use the vast vineyards and distant castle ruins as your backdrop, wear a light-colored dress for that perfect French countryside vibe! · Close-up: Pick up one of the large pebbles or snap a photo with a bottle featuring the embossed emblem for a classy touch. 🚗 Transportation Tips Driving is recommended; it’s just a 20-30 minute drive north from Avignon. If you don’t drive, you can join a half-day or full-day small wine tour with a guide/driver who will take you to several wineries and handle tastings — very convenient. 💡 Tips: Wine tasting is great, but don’t overdo it (remember to bring a spit bucket or arrange a designated driver)! Some wineries require advance email reservations, especially the famous ones, so don’t just show up and get turned away. In short, Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a place where even the air is filled with the aroma of wine. Whether you’re a wine pro or a newbie, you’ll find your own little buzz of happiness here! 💖

#여행가이드 Le Guide de la Logistique (The Transportation and Parking Guide) The famous fields are remote, so access requires planning. · Voiture (Car): A rental car is the best way to explore the Valensole area, allowing you to stop spontaneously at the most beautiful fields. · Parking: Most farms have designated, free parking areas. If stopping by the side of a public road, pull completely off the pavement and ensure you are not blocking farm equipment access. · GPS: Use GPS coordinates for specific farms, as just searching "Lavender Farm" might lead you to general areas. Download maps offline, as cell service can be spotty.

#여행가이드 Le Guide des Produits (The Local Product Shopping Guide) A lavender farm offers more than just essential oil; it’s a source for a variety of local, high-quality Provençal goods. · Huile Essentielle: Look for True Lavender (Lavande Fine) essential oil, which is grown at higher altitudes and is expensive but has the highest therapeutic quality. Lavandin is a hybrid, grown in lower fields, is cheaper, and is mainly used for soaps and fragrance. · Gastronomie: Buy local lavender honey (Miel de Lavande) and lavender-infused cookies or syrups. · Souvenirs: Purchase traditional Marseille soap (Savon de Marseille) scented with lavender, sachets, and perfumes.

A High-Value Choice for Independent Travelers. Pops Flat is a two-bedroom apartment located in Avignon, featuring a simple and bright design with fully equipped facilities. ✨Pros: · Fully equipped kitchen (plates, microwave, dishwasher, etc.), perfect for cooking your own meals. · Located within Avignon Intramuros (inside the city walls), within walking distance to many attractions. · About a 10-minute walk from Avignon Central Train Station, not too far. · The host responds promptly, usually within 10-30 minutes for any inquiries. ☄️Cons: · Although there are two bedrooms, there is only one bathroom (located outside the rooms), which can be inconvenient for a family of four. · The first floor is actually the second floor; after entering the apartment's small door, you need to climb a flight of stairs, which can be challenging for those with large luggage or strollers. · Check-in is only available after 5 PM; if you arrive earlier, you'll need to find a place near Avignon Station to store your luggage. · The host's house rules require guests to take out the trash to the outside garbage truck, which feels a bit unreasonable. (However, on the day of our rushed train schedule, I forgot to take out the trash. I messaged the host to apologize, and the host said it was okay and appreciated me letting them know.) Overall, it's a high-value choice for a family stay!

Sénanque Abbey is located in a narrow valley, built in the 12th century. The special thing about the abbey is that it is located in the middle of a lavender field. The abbey is still inhabited by monks, who grow lavender and produce honey to sustain their activities. #france #lavender

A few weeks ago, my family and I visited the Galas Aqueduct Bridge in Southern France, and it was an unforgettable journey. This magnificent bridge, built during the Roman era, quietly spans the Gardon River. Its layered stone arches, set against the backdrop of blue skies, white clouds, and crystal-clear waters, showcase a stunning historical grandeur. We strolled along the pathways, marveling at this engineering wonder from two thousand years ago, while the children played by the river, their laughter mingling with the sound of flowing water. Standing beneath the bridge and looking up, I couldn't help but admire the wisdom and perseverance of the ancients, feeling the profound and eternal passage of time in this place.

I stopped by Lourmarin during a trip to the South of France. The place is often dubbed "the most beautiful village in Provence," though I tend to be skeptical of such flashy labels. That said, the village proved to be genuinely worthwhile—free of tourist crowds and unnecessary hustle. Here's the rundown: 1. **Château de Lourmarin.** Entry is 6 euros. The top offers a decent view of the valley and vineyards. If you're into Renaissance architecture, it's worth a visit, and the price is fair. There's a wine cellar in the basement where you can sample some local dry wine. 2. **Albert Camus's Grave.** The writer spent his final years here and rests in the local cemetery. It's a quiet, humble spot. If you've read his work, it's worth paying your respects. 3. **The Streets.** Classic old-stone Provence. It's perfect for an hour-long stroll along the cobblestones. You'll want to wear proper shoes, not flip-flops. · *Logistics and Practicality:** You'll need a car to get here. The drive takes about an hour from Avignon and roughly 40 minutes from Aix. Leave your car at the free parking lot just outside the village; the center is pedestrian-only. In the summer, the midday sun is scorching, making it tough to walk around. It's best to arrive after 4:00 PM when the heat breaks, or aim for Friday morning to catch the local market (you can pick up some great cheese and olives). · *The Verdict:** A great spot to spend 2–3 hours and catch your breath between stops. I wouldn't make a massive detour just to see it, but as a stop along a broader itinerary, it's a perfectly solid choice.

Hello, today I will share a story from a small city in France, Avignon. Thai people may not know much about this city, but we went there because we joined their summer theater festival. Avignon is an old city where we went. They don’t allow renovations on the outside, but the inside of the houses can be renovated to preserve the original style of art and architecture. It looks like a period movie from Europe. This theater festival is held for a whole month in the old city. The city map is in Figure 13. The blue dots are all the theaters, both small and large. There are also theaters outside the old city because there are so many theaters that they can’t fit in the space in the city. In a month, there are 1,600 theaters in total, both inside and outside the city, in theaters and on the streets. Let me tell you a little bit about the importance of this city. In the past, this city was an important city for Christianity. It was the residence of many Popes and is still one of the few cities in France that still has its city walls. That means you can still visit the city even without the theater festival. Let me continue with the theater festival here. Before the festival starts, there is a deadline to put up posters after 10 pm. The festival requires that paper be made from environmentally friendly materials. Some of our posters were printed from Thailand, but we couldn't put up those posters because we don't have environmentally friendly paper and ink. When it was almost 10 pm, we saw everyone from every theater group competing for the best spot to promote their work. It felt like the sports day in high school. They were riding on each other's shoulders to put up posters. We put up until 2 am and then thought that was enough. When you come to France, you have to eat Ratatouille. This is made by the theater owner's wife. It's homemade. The best thing to eat when you come here is wine. They say it's cheaper than plain water. It's not an exaggeration. The cheapest is 1.8 euros, but the taste is a bit hard to drink. I recommend the 5 euros price, which is really good. And you have to eat it with cheese. For those who like cheese, there are a lot of blue cheeses. Just random cheeses. How to get there: You can land in Lyon and take the train. Or you can go to another city. As for me, I landed in Geneva, Switzerland, and took the train because the ticket was cheaper. Recommended food: None because I cook it myself every day. There are supermarkets in the city and Asian stores outside the city. The restaurants are a bit more expensive. What I noticed was spaghetti, which costs 12-18 euros. #TravelFrance #Avignon #avignon #avignonfrance

From June to August every year, Provence seems to be under a spell. Large tracts of lavender spread from the horizon to the valley. The endless purple makes people feel like they have walked into a fairy tale. Today I want to recommend to you the three major lavender resorts in Provence: Sénanque Abbey, Sault, and Valensole. Each of them has its own style and is full of romance, making it a paradise for photography, aesthetics and nature lovers! 🕘【Opening hours】: 🌞 Best viewing period: from mid-to-late June to mid-July every year. The flowering period in So Village is relatively later, but it can still be seen in late July. 🧭 It is recommended to avoid noon. The light in the morning and evening is more suitable for taking pictures, and there are relatively fewer people. ⛔ Note: Some private lavender fields do not allow entry for photography, please respect local regulations. 💴【Ticket Price】: Sénanque Abbey: It costs about €8 to visit the interior of the abbey, and taking photos outside is free. Sault/Valensole lavender fields: Most of the fields are open to the public and no tickets are required, but if you want to visit the museum or workshop, you need to buy a ticket separately. ⛺【Amusement Project】: Abbaye de Sénanque——[Purple Faith in Tranquility] 🏛 This 12th-century monastery is surrounded by lavender fields. The stone monastery blends perfectly with the purple lavender, which is quaint and quiet. You can visit the abbey, learn about its history, and take photos of the beautiful lavender fields surrounding it. ✝️ The monastery is still in operation, please keep quiet and take photos without disturbing the monks' lives. 📸 Photography tips: The front shooting angle needs to be on the roadside, and the light is best before 9 am or after 6 pm. Sault——[Overlooking the flower fields from the hills] 🌄 Sault is the "Lavender Capital". The town is on a mountain with a high terrain, overlooking the entire lavender field. It has rich layers and is very suitable for long-range aerial photography. 🍯 There are many small soap shops and honey shops in the town, which are good places to restock souvenirs If you have time, don't miss the observation deck in the town, which is a great angle to take pictures of the distant view. 🎉 There is a lavender festival on August 15th every year, with handicraft exhibitions, food markets, and music performances. Valensole——[The End of the Purple Ocean] 🌾 The largest and most spectacular lavender field, stretching endlessly, is especially suitable for shooting "portraits + lavender" blockbusters. 🌻 If you are lucky, you may come across the "purple + yellow" combination: lavender + sunflower! 📷 Recommended shooting time: After 5pm, backlit photos are the best with soft light and shadows 🚌【Transportation Guide】 🛣 Public transportation: The train + bus combination is more troublesome. There are some tourist lines in the peak season, but the frequency is limited. 🚗 Self-driving: Starting from Marseille, you can rent a car for 1.5-2 hours to reach various attractions. The route is flexible and it is convenient to stop and take photos at any time on the road. 👉Chartered car: suitable for friends who want to travel independently but don’t want to drive. Some Chinese drivers and guides also provide itinerary services. 📌 TIPS: Lavender fields are scattered, and it is convenient to stop and take photos by yourself. It is recommended to plan the route in advance. 👉【Itinerary】: 🌅Route 1 (starting from Marseille): Check in at the three most classic lavender resorts Provence Lavender Day | Sénanque Abbey + Sau + Valensole Route 🍽 At noon in Sault, we recommend ordering southern French country roast chicken and lavender-flavored desserts 🧡【Preparation before departure】: 👗 Dressing suggestions: White skirts or light-colored ones are the best for taking photos, and comfortable shoes are recommended. 🧴 Sun protection is essential (the sun in southern France is very strong), and a hat and sunglasses are also required. 🦟 There may be a lot of mosquitoes, so prepare mosquito repellent spray. 📷 Bring your camera + spare batteries. If you like aerial photography, remember to check the drone regulations. If you also yearn for the movie-like summer in Provence, don’t hesitate, add these three lavender holy places to your itinerary! Not only is it good for taking photos, but you can also feel the unique tranquility and romance of southern France💜

#celebrateit The Notre Dame is one of the very first cathedrals with Gothic architecture to have flying buttresses. It is also adorned with beautiful sculptures and gargoyles that not only add to the beauty of the Cathedral but also provide additional support to it. The Notre Dame towers are over 223 ft high providing magnificent view of the Seine and the Ìle de la Cité, but to reach the top you must climb over 400 stairs. The South tower is home to the gigantic and infamous 13 ton bell. From the Tower you can also admire the ornate spire of Notre Dame.
