Camping enthusiasts should definitely check out this less-known campsite—[Silent Lake Provincial Park 🌲] 📍1589 Silent Lake Park Road, Banoft, ON Less than 3 hours from Toronto, the campsite isn't large, but it's well-equipped. The lake, true to its name, is as still as a mirror. You can also rent canoe, kayak, or SUP. The comfort station is clean, has hot water showers, and is very beginner-friendly. The biggest surprise was that our booked electric campsite was a bit far from our tent, and we were worried the power cord wouldn't be long enough. But the shop at the campsite entrance had adapters available for rent, a lifesaver! 😂 The shop also sells firewood, ice, and basic camping gear. On the way back, I recommend stopping by [Peterborough] downtown. It has many old red-brick buildings, a vintage clock tower, and streets adorned with flower baskets—it has a classic movie feel. If you have enough time, you can also visit the famous [Peterborough Lift Lock], where boats move up and down a huge hydraulic lift with a drop of nearly 20 meters. Seeing it in person is even more impressive than in photos. There's also a visitor center nearby; if you're interested in history and water culture, you can visit the [Canadian Canoe Museum] to see canoes and Canadian waterway culture. The food was also a pleasant surprise: 📍Central Smith: A local ice cream factory with a rich but not cloying cream flavor, not overly sweet, and many flavors available. You can even buy tubs to take home. 📍Bobo Tea Room: I didn't expect to find such delicious milk tea in this small town! I had to support them while I was there! 👍🏻 Recommended Itinerary: Toronto → Silent Lake Camping → Peterborough Old Street → Back to Toronto A two-day, one-night trip with forests, lakes, a charming town, and plenty of delicious food and drinks along the way—relaxed yet engaging. I had such a good time at Beaver me campground park in Peterborough Ontario! There's so much to do, swimming, canoeing, there's a park, there's a water park, soccer fields, fishing and everything else that you can do in town as well. It's affordable and good for the whole family. While capture amazing moments you can make awesome memories and spend an entire week with your family. what more could you ask for besides the serenity of nature. Very nice to walk around the lake and the park. There is a pier to the famous tourist spot, the Lift Lock. $35 ferry ticket price for adult to visit the Lift Lock. Besides, An Art Gallery is nearby the lake, it is worth to visit and take some beautiful pictures. Also, there are lots of restaurants, 10 minutes walk from the lake. It is one of the attractions you must go in Peterborough. Afterwards, you can go to some museums and trials, around 10-20 minutes drive from the heart of Peterborough.
