US travel calendar for year 2025 - Vale, 30A, Chattanooga & more
#newyearnewtrip
Thinking about a New Year’s adventure in the good ol’ U.S. of A? Well, hold onto your hats and your calendar, because every state is throwing a party in a specific month—sort of like a nationwide game of "Where’s Waldo?" but with more snow and less plaid.
Kick off January in Colorado, where you can ski, snowboard, or just bundle up and pretend you know how to do both. Then, take a little jaunt to Florida in February 30th—oh wait, that date doesn’t exist! But who needs reality when you can have a sunny beach day? After that, March beckons you to New Orleans, where Mardi Gras is the only excuse you need to wear a feather boa and consume beignets like they’re going out of style.
As spring rolls in, head to South Carolina in April for some sweet tea and a dash of Southern charm. May calls for a visit to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where the scenery is so beautiful, you’ll forget your phone’s been glued to your hand for the last year. Finally, in June, make your way to Williamsburg, Virginia—where history is alive and well, and the weather is perfect for pretending you’re in a time machine.
So grab your backpack, your sense of humor, and maybe a good map (or a questionable GPS app), and get ready for a year of shenanigans and selfies!

Chattanooga River Views Worth the Walk 🌉
Took a walk along the Tennessee River and found some of the best views in Chattanooga. The bridges, calm water, and mountain scenery made this a perfect place to slow down and explore. Definitely worth walking over from downtown—especially on a clear afternoon!

Great Atmosphere and Fascinating Stories
A lovely atmosphere greeted us right from the moment we entered. Sanders' studio is filled with beautiful stories, 17th-century artifacts, backdrops, and art. He is a professional and passionate storyteller and photographer. We found it to be a truly enjoyable experience and would highly recommend it to everyone!

Atlanta Family Trip: 5 Days and 4 Nights
Day 1️⃣ First Encounter with Atlanta
· **Morning**: Direct flight from JFK to Atlanta. Two-hour flight. Check out the world's busiest Atlanta airport.
· **Afternoon**: Head straight to Stone Mountain Park 👇
✅ The park is spacious and well-maintained, with lush greenery surrounding the mountain itself.
✅ Instead of taking the cable car, we hiked up the mountain. The mountain isn’t very tall, and as a monolithic rock, it features small pits and ancient "rock carvings."
✅ The surface of the rock is slightly slippery. Both an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old managed to reach the summit, while a 70-year-old grandma made it about 70-80% of the way.
Day 2️⃣ Ocean vs. Cola
🐋 Morning: Georgia Aquarium
· Ticket tip: City Pass requires an additional ticket exchange process to enter the aquarium.
· Seating tip: Dolphin and sea lion shows need to be reserved online on the same day. I set an alarm to book them early in the morning. For the dolphin show, choose the front-center seats—they’re in the splash zone.
🥤 Afternoon: World of Coca-Cola
· Fun highlight: Unlimited refills of over 100 global beverages (the Chinese version is plum juice flavor). You can also take scheduled photos with the polar bear mascot.
· *⚠️ Personal note: I was super excited when I visited years ago, but now I find the Coca-Cola Center quite dull and overly commercialized.
Day 3️⃣ Cross-State Wonders|Underground Waterfall + Cliffside Fairy Tale Town
🌌 Morning: Ruby Falls in Tennessee
· Cave tip: Wear a light jacket (the cave maintains a constant temperature of 15°C).
· Impression: If you’re hoping to see stunning stalactites, you might be disappointed. The colors and shapes of the stalactites inside the cave are not very remarkable, and I even suspect they’ve stopped growing. However, the underground waterfall is a unique attraction worth visiting.
· The cave isn’t large, but it’s crowded. Groups move through in batches, with movie screenings and queues. The entire experience takes about 1.5 hours underground.
⛰️ Afternoon: Rock City
· A beautifully designed garden on a small hill. You can tell a lot of thought went into it. The lookout point claims you can see seven states—quite a clever marketing idea. At the summit, there’s an elegant classical lady playing the harp. Kids will likely enjoy the Fairy Tale Cavern, which incorporates many familiar fairy tales, though I found the dolls a bit creepy 😱.
Day 4️⃣ Return to the Jurassic|A Dinosaur Enthusiast’s Ultimate Adventure 🦕 Fernbank Museum
👉 Initially chosen randomly, but it turned out to be the biggest surprise.
👉 The first floor features a massive herbivorous dinosaur, the museum’s centerpiece. There are also several dinosaur fossils, clearly explaining how the skeletons were discovered, which parts are authentic, and which are reconstructed.
· *The museum’s surroundings are exceptionally beautiful. It’s a paradise for detail-oriented visitors, with every corner meticulously designed—from the outdoor mini forest to the indoor lab and treehouse. The kids didn’t want to leave!
· Also visited the home of the author of "Gone with the Wind."
Day 5️⃣ Return Trip. Encountered unreliable Delta Airlines with two landings. 😅

[Tennessee Travel] Tennessee Aquarium-The number one aquarium in my mind🐠🦈🪼🐊🦋
The Tennessee Aquarium, located on the banks of the Tennessee River, has the largest freshwater aquarium due to its rich river ecology. In addition to the river creatures throughout the museum, the aquarium’s care and attention can also be seen in the traffic flow arrangements and the design of the simulated river environment. It is the best freshwater fish aquarium I have ever visited👍👍👍.
The adjacent oceanarium is not as rich as the Georgia Aquarium, but it has an underwater cave on the bottom floor, so that visitors can see sharks swimming leisurely in the dim light. It is unique. Whether it is a river or an ocean, there are creatures I have never seen before, which is quite amazing.
There is also a butterfly garden on the top floor of the aquarium. As soon as you enter, you will see butterflies flying around, which is quite spectacular. After staying here for three hours, I still felt reluctant to leave.
I have visited quite a few aquariums since I was a child, and currently the Tennessee Aquarium is my favorite 💙🩵, I highly recommend it!

Rock City Gardens
This is must see! Love Love Love!!! Beautiful walk on a very creative trail between boulders, over bridges, above bluffs and waterfalls, crisscrossing in imaginative ways. The overlook view of the valley below is breathtaking. Right to left you can see almost 180 degrees. You really can see 7 states. The walk is worth the time and visit. It is a great family adventure, with the walk ending in Fairyland Caverns. The park is not without gift shops and restaurants. One thing that’s good to know about this place is that if you take your time exploring this place, any amount of crowd will pass you by and you will have a moment or two to yourself to take it all in. And the mother goose/fairy gardens is worth seeing even as an adult, it’s fun to take a trip down memory lane to your childhood. More importantly, you escape the heat because it’s air conditioned!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a good view, likes a little adventure and is able to maneuver stairs, ramps and bridges and maybe a surprise or two.
