Oudong Temple at Mount Oudong.
It's a great location with a physical workout due to the many stairs you'll encounter, but it's worth the effort. Many Cambodians will embark on an adventure here to enjoy the peaceful and majestic splendor of stupas and monuments dedicated to past kings for worship, pilgrimage, or both. During my visit, I was fortunate enough to meet many Buddhist monks of all ages, who were generous enough to allow me to take photos. It's a haven for photographers with plenty of places to explore and a variety of subjects to document.
The place is beautiful, mystical, and enigmatic. I was already here at 6 AM on my bike and there was no one else there!!! Shooting the sunrise at such a place was a reward for yesterday's 137km on the bike. But be careful, the monkeys are very cunning and aggressive... I warn everyone, be very careful!!! She bit my knee twice. I didn't eat anything and didn't provoke them in any way. It's really lucky that I had the rabies vaccine!!! Above all, protect your children!!! Otherwise, enjoy your time there.
Oudong Temple is located at the foothills of Mount Oudong, about 40km northwest of the modern capital Phnom Penh. Oudong was the royal residence and the capital of Cambodia for more than 250 years until 1866. The monumental royal necropolis of several centuries of monarchs is scattered across the prominent split mountain tops that run from southeast to northeast.

Today presents an excellent opportunity to explore the captivating Phnom Oudong temple in Cambodia. The temple boasts breathtaking views that are sure to leave a lasting impression.
Phnom Oudong, a small ridge of hills near Phnom Penh, was a well-established city by the seventh century. A stone temple was built around the thirteenth century. The capital was moved from nearby Lovek in 1618 and remained there until 1866, when the French convinced King Norodom to move it back to Phnom Penh. The ridge features a crown of stupas, mostly funerary reliquaries housing the ashes of former kings. The newest and largest stupa was built by the current king to house a Buddhist relic from Phnom Penh. Most visits start near the eastern end of the ridge, where a path leads to a small parking area and the base of three stupas. The western end of the ridge contains the remains of the thirteenth-century temple, Preah Atharas.
It is advisable to explore Phnom Oudong Temple, where you can witness the splendor of this remarkable architectural masterpiece and have an extraordinary experience. #phnomoudongtemple #ancientcity #historicallandmarks
