We finally got to stay at Leuweung Geledegan Ecolodge, and honestly… it’s one of the absolute best spots for quality family time. We chose the Lodge C Room, which is perfect for 6 people since it comes with 3 Queen beds in a single room. Right from the moment we arrived, the atmosphere instantly put us at ease—lush pine forests, crisp cool air, and a vibe miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city 🤍 The kids were absolutely thrilled with all the fun activities: ✨ LGE Adventures & nature exploration areas ✨ Breezy spots for relaxing walks ✨ A spacious outdoor area to run around freely The amenities were also comprehensive & comfortable: 🛏️ Rooms with a calming green view 🛁 Spotlessly clean bathrooms 🏊♀️ A swimming pool surrounded by nature And the part that keeps us coming back for more… the food! 🍽️ From breakfast to dinner, everything was delicious and family-friendly. There were plenty of options, so the kids happily ate their meals with zero drama 😆 A staycation here feels unhurried and peaceful, yet still packed with fun moments with the family 🌿✨ Definitely a place I want to visit again with the kids!

Sometimes the best adventures are not far from home. Kawah Ratu was one of those spontaneous day trips that started with a simple idea: fresh air, forest trails and volcanic scenery. By the end of the day, I was muddy, exhausted and incredibly happy. 🚖 Getting There Kawah Ratu is located in the Gunung Salak Endah area (GSE), Bogor. I went there by car, and I honestly recommend doing the same. The road to the entrance is quite remote and you cannot depend on public transport. There are no direct buses to the trailhead, and even if you take public transport part of the way, you will still need a car or motorbike to reach the starting point. The entrance fee was around 20,000 IDR per person. Registration was simple and there were signs showing the direction to the trail. Starting the Hike The trail begins right after you pass gate where you have to pay for one day hike. At first, it feels peaceful and fresh with big trees and the sound of water. The weather was cool and the air was clean. It felt like a deep breath for both the mind and body. As I continued, the trail got steeper and muddier. There were parts where I had to watch every step because the ground was slippery. This is not a casual walk, you will sweat and you will get dirty, but that is the beauty of it. 🌋 Getting Close to the Crater The smell of sulfur slowly gets stronger, and that is how you know the crater is near. The forest suddenly opens up into a dramatic scene: steaming yellow rocks, boiling sounds under the ground and smoke coming out of the earth. It felt like standing on a living planet. There are no facilities at the crater. No café, no proper sitting area and no shops. So whatever you need, bring it from the start. I sat on a rock and had my small lunch while watching the steam rise. It felt like nature was putting on a show. 🎒 What to Prepare A hike to Kawah Ratu is close to the city, but it is still a serious trail. Here is what I recommend: · Good hiking shoes (mud guaranteed) · Drinking water · Packed lunch or snacks · Raincoat or jacket · Gloves or a small towel for slippery areas · Wet wipes for cleaning up after · Extra shirt for the journey home There is signal on some parts of the trail but not everywhere. 🥾 Going Back Going down required more focus than going up because the trail is slippery. It took almost the same amount of time to descend as to climb. When I reached the parking area, I felt tired in the best possible way. I sat in the car with muddy shoes and dirty hands, smiling the whole time. 💭 Final Thoughts Kawah Ratu is the perfect one day hike if you want something challenging, raw and close to Jakarta. No fancy cafés, no tourist crowds, just nature as it is. You will: · Get dirty · Burn calories · Be surrounded by real forest · Hear the earth breathing under you And that is exactly why I loved it. If you are going, use a car and start early. This hike is made for people who want adventure, not convenience. And if someone asks me whether I would hike it again, the answer is absolutely yes.

It's not only cool but also very comfortable. It's perfect for working from the cafe, hanging out, or even enjoying the sunset. The best spot is on the second floor, where you can see views of the rice fields and Mount Salak. The cafe is quite spacious, accommodating around 70 customers. The facilities are also complete, including Wi-Fi, power outlets, clean toilets, a prayer room, air-conditioned indoor area, outdoor smoking area, indoor smoking area, and ample parking space. Nice place to have some coffee. A small coffeshop around the corner. It has speciality one from the origin coffee tress based on smallholders along the nation. One of the fave is Bogor single origin called Cibulao coffee beans. Those beans came from the hinter land community plantations at the borderline of Bogor & Cianjur. Well, this coffeshop also has a vintage ambience on crafted furniture and pairs of pine trees at the backyard. It brings a lot of instagramable view along the corner. I love it Coffee shop that uses a Balinese house concept which is quite impressive. I ordered americano and latte. The American is delicious, the chocolate taste is really good. The service is very friendly and the coffee shop environment is very clean

The environment is lovely, the food was super delicious and the vibe is great! They serve food as packages or by the spoon if you'd like to have some add-ons, the prices are super affordable too! The only thing that they could make the experience better is to put the names of each food in front of them so we can read it and then there's no need to ask for what each thing was (because there are quite a lot of options), the glass seperating us from the waitress made it difficult to hear each other while trying to ask thus making the line longer. Besides that, whenever I'm in Bogor again I'll put Warung Nako on my list

I've been to this place a year ago. The place still looks same. Only indoor plants and potted plants looks less maintained. The place is somewhat hidden and the road descends quite sharply from the main road. Parking space is a bit cramped. This place is more crowded in the afternoon weekend. I ordered Kecombrang fried rice, felt the surprise it was very delicious and unique. With kecombrang slices, it feels fresh. Plus salted egg, emping, prawn crackers, thin salted fish. Hhm nyummy. I also ordered churros but nothing special. They provide manual brew coffee with West Java and East Java coffee variants, but I did not try their coffee (I heard it is good ☺️). I just ordered camomile tea. Kecombrang fried rice is recommended💕, the churros is too ordinary. Nice place 👌 Only the hotel construction nearby is noisy.

Not so many choices of main course however they served pizza, pasta, sandiwches for lunch & dinner Such a great experience to be here. We got the seat next to the lake and stayed there for lunch and play time. We ordered so many food, but ended up didn’t finish it LOL. We enjoy the time so much for this!! Yesterday I visited Curug ciherang, a beautiful waterfall hidden in the lush green area of Bogor. If you are looking for a short nature getaway from Jakarta, this place is definitely worth considering. The entrance fee was IDR 40,000 per person, and it already included access to the public swimming pool area, which was a nice bonus after exploring the waterfall. From the entrance, the walk to the waterfall is approximately 200 meters. The path is relatively easy and surrounded by fresh mountain air and greenery, making the short trek enjoyable even for casual visitors. The water at Curug ciherang is quite cold, but incredibly refreshing. One of the things I loved most was that the area still feels natural, you can even see monkeys playing around the forest nearby, which adds to the experience. At the bottom of the waterfall, there is a calmer section where the water flows gently and forms a small sandy area from the waterfall’s current. It is a perfect spot to sit, relax, and enjoy the cool water without standing directly under the stronger flow.
