The Ibis Styles Hotel is conveniently located near Dalian Station and Zhongshan Square. If you take a Didi from Dalian Airport, it will comfortably drop you off at the hotel entrance within 20-30 minutes. The lobby is on the 11th floor, so once you enter the building, head to the elevator on the left, press the button for the 11th floor, and check in to receive your room key. If you're a non-smoker, make sure to use a translation app to request a room without cigarette smell. The staff will kindly respond using the app, assuring you that the room is clean and odor-free, and offering to change rooms if you find any issues. This thoughtful service was truly touching 🥺. As promised, the room smelled fresh with no trace of cigarette odor. To my surprise, the room had a duplex layout, which I hadn't noticed when booking. For less than 50,000 KRW per night, the room condition was truly impressive, showcasing the grandeur of China. Both floors had bathrooms and sinks, with a shower room on the second floor. The hot water worked perfectly, and the water pressure was excellent. There were power outlets on both sides of the bed, including 220V ones, so no need for a multi-voltage adapter. The curtains were automatic, opening and closing with just a button press! The room was equipped with two bottles of water, two tea bags, a small refrigerator, a hairdryer, slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. The shower room had body wash and shampoo, while the sink area included hand wash. When ordering food delivery to the room, a robot delivers it right to your door. I encountered one in the elevator, and it was such a fun and unique experience that I’d love to try it myself on my next trip to China! The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to access tourist attractions. Most places are within a 20-minute ride via subway or Didi. While places like Jiaotong University Night Market, Yuyan Wharf, and Xinghai Square are slightly farther, they’re still reachable within 30 minutes. The location is truly convenient! Since taxi fares are very affordable, I relied solely on Didi for transportation, especially during the cold winter. The subway requires baggage checks every time, which can be a hassle. If I visit Dalian again, I’d definitely stay at this hotel again. It was that satisfying. However, there are a few drawbacks. In winter, the first floor can get quite cold at night. While the heater can be operated on both floors, the positioning of the heater vents seems off, leaving the first floor less warm. I had to wear long sleeves and pants while eating late-night snacks on the first floor 😂. On the other hand, the second floor was warm enough to sleep in short sleeves and shorts. Another point to consider is the duplex layout, which can be both a pro and a con. Climbing up and down to the second floor can become tiresome after the first day, feeling more like exercise 🤣. But given the insane value of less than 50,000 KRW per night, it’s something to be grateful for 😂. I doubt you’d find such room conditions at this price anywhere else in the world!
