Full Hiking Challenge to the Peak of the Three Gorges ⛰️ (with Super Detailed Guide)
Finally completed the long-awaited hike to the peak of the Three Gorges
11.36 kilometers! 26,000 steps! 1280 meters of elevation gain!
Although it’s been three days since I got back and I still haven’t recovered... it was truly worth it!!
🚶【Hiking Route】
Start from Baidi City Wind and Rain Corridor Bridge → take the ferry to the opposite shore → hike all the way to the summit
The whole trip, including stops for photos, took about 5-6 hours
I recommend starting early and allowing plenty of time~
🧥【Outfit Suggestions】
▪️ Quick-dry shirt + windbreaker are a must! The wind at the summit is strong and the temperature difference is obvious
▪️ Hiking shoes/sneakers must be comfortable and non-slip
▪️ For photos, wear bright colors! Bright colors! Bright colors!
I wore light-colored clothes and the photos didn’t turn out well 😭
🍫【Supply Tips】
No need to carry too much water! There are 11 supply points along the way
Just bring some snacks to replenish energy in time
We sent our luggage home by courier before the hike—going light is the smartest choice
📸【Recommended Check-in Spots】
▫️ 66 Switchbacks: The continuous climb starts here, a test of both physical strength and willpower 🔥
▫️ Despair Slope: The last 1 km is a straight uphill; everyone was so quiet you could only hear heavy breathing... but persistence is victory!
🚡【Descent Options】
After reaching the summit, you can choose:
Sightseeing bus or cable car down
💡【Final Thoughts】
This time I really overestimated myself...
At 11 PM I was searching the streets for a massage, and even after three days my legs are still wrecked... going downstairs is pure torture 😭
But! Life is only about 30,000 days, so make the most of every peak day ⛰️
Hiking down, I suddenly felt that life is like climbing a mountain
Ups and downs, no need to compare
Walk at your own pace, and you will eventually reach the destination ✨
