Honestly, I don't think so. 😅 🎟️ The £21 entry includes the house, park and parking, but personally, I don't think the interior is impressive enough to justify the price if you're only visiting once. 🌳 But with a free or annual pass? That's a different story! The park is a lovely place for a walk, and the visit also gives you a chance to learn more about the history of British-Tibet connections and the story behind the Hall. 💡 My verdict: 💷 £21 for a one-off visit — #Overrated 🌳 With an annual/free pass — Worth a visit for the walk & history So if you're nearby and already have free entry, I'd definitely go. #bucketlistdestinations Visiting Stanton Moor in Derbyshire felt like stepping into a landscape filled with mystery and history. I followed the woodland and moorland paths until I reached the ancient stone formations, surrounded by rolling hills and open countryside. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, especially when the wind moved across the moor and there was hardly anyone around. I spent time exploring the trails, photographing the stones, and taking in the views across the surrounding Peak District landscape. There was something fascinating about standing beside structures that have been part of this landscape for thousands of years. Stanton Moor gave me a completely different kind of travel experience and easily earned a place on my #bucketlistdestinations list.

We marked a 70th birthday by abseiling from Derbyshire's highest viaduct at Millers Dale, standing 100ft high. It was an amazing experience for all, made even better thanks to our excellent instructor from Lost Earth, Tom. Huge thanks to Tom for his patience, encouragement, and understanding. Often described as one of England’s best-preserved medieval manor houses, Haddon Hall has over 900 years of history. Walking through its ancient halls, peaceful gardens and rose-covered stone walls genuinely felt like stepping into another century. One of my favourite moments was simply wandering around the gardens and taking in the incredible views over the Derbyshire countryside. Every corner looked like something from a period film. If you’re visiting Sheffield or exploring the Peak District, I highly recommend adding Haddon Hall to your itinerary. 🌿 Tissington Village & Surroundings – 1-Day Trip We started our visit from the car park just outside Tissington Village, which is a convenient base for exploring the area on foot. As you walk into the village, you’ll immediately notice thetimeless charm of the British countryside. The highlight is Tissington Hall, a beautiful historic household. Surrounding it are picturesque stone cottages, a tranquil pond, and open grassland—perfect for a relaxing picnic, especially in May when everything is lush and green. Following the village paths, you’ll come across the quaint Tissington Methodist Chapel. If you visit during the famous Tissington Well Dressing Festival, the chapel opens its doors to visitors, showcasing intricate floral decorations. Please be considerate when you are in the Chapel because the building is small and to many visitors at once might be too crowded. Tissington Village is famous for its Well Dressing Festival in May. During the Festival you can find many wells (e.g. the Town Well) dressed up with blooming flowers, leaves and seeds to form beautifully crafted well dressings—a unique and traditional art form in Derbyshire. Beyond the village, the surrounding countryside stretches out into miles of rolling green fields and small hills. Pestos at the Peacock is a wonderful establishment in Alfreton. I enjoyed a very tasty Italian meal. I had the spicy arrabbiata, panzerotti and arancini. It was definitely one of the best meals I have ever had. The plates are small, so you can enjoy more of what you like, instead of having one meal. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to people who like to try new things since this restaurant has it all on offer.
