I bought Meizao and Eba varieties; an average price of CNY 25–35 is fine. You must try them. I bought mine early in the morning at the Qiyi Morning Market. If you're taking them back yourself, just pack them in a foam box. If you're shipping them, just use SF Express; they pack them in foam boxes with ice. They're great for gifts or for yourself. Be sure to stock up on a box before you leave. 🦑 Shuiyifang seafood dried goods A long-standing Dalian brand for seafood snacks, vacuum-packed individually, making them super easy to carry. Every morning I woke up feeling like I was still dreaming and didn’t want to check out at all! · -- 📍Open the window and the sea is right there | This location is incredible The hotel is at No. 1 Gangpu Road, Zhongshan District, right in the heart of Donggang business area, just about 100 meters from the coastline 🚶‍♀️. The room window faces Bohai Bay with a 270-degree sea view right in front of you 🌅. Lying in bed, you can see the yacht marina and Donggang’s white lighthouse. At sunset, the whole sea turns golden. I really spent a long time leaning on the windowsill watching it 🥹. Right downstairs are the International Conference Center and the music fountain plaza. It’s just a few minutes’ walk for an evening stroll. Metro Line 2 is a five-minute walk away, and the airport is only 15 minutes by car. This location is truly top-tier in Dalian ✈️. · -- 🛏️ Deluxe sea view room | Watch the harbor from the room This time I stayed in a deluxe sea view room, about 40 sq m. It’s not very big but the layout is very comfortable 🛋️. As soon as you enter, there’s a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows with electric curtains. In the morning, just press a button and sunlight and sea breeze flood in. That feeling is really hard to describe ☀️. The bedding is Hilton’s usual standard, with a mattress that’s just the right firmness and fluffy pillows. I could have stayed in bed all day without moving 😴. The bathroom has a complete wet and dry separation. The deep soaking tub is by the window, so you can sneak a peek at the harbor night view while soaking. The towels are thick and soft, wrapping up in one feels amazing 🧖‍♀️. The minibar has a good selection of drinks. Outside the window is the old pier and Donggang sea view. During the day, watch yachts come and go; at night, see the lights reflecting on the water. Breakfast is at the Coast Restaurant on the first floor. It opens at 6:30 AM on weekdays and until 10:30 AM on weekends, which is great for someone like me who likes to sleep in 🍳. The live cooking station serves hot wontons and noodles. The Western side has freshly baked croissants with coffee ☕️. There’s plenty of Chinese porridge and side dishes too. At 158 per person, it’s not cheap, but the variety is amazing. The most impressive dinner was the seafood buffet, with freshly caught oysters, scallops, and crabs piled high 🦞, plus sashimi and sushi. I ate it two nights in a row and never got tired of it. If you want a change of flavor, the Northeast Street Restaurant’s sweet and sour pork and handmade dumplings are super authentic, with a true Northeastern taste 🥟. After dinner, head to the lobby lounge for a drink and enjoy the night view outside the window. It really feels like a vacation 🥂. · -- 🎁 Small surprises discovered after three days Be sure to book a sea view room on the 20th floor or higher. The view is really different. Lower floors are partially blocked by buildings in front 🌊. The executive lounge is on the 20th floor, where you can enjoy afternoon tea and evening cocktails. Snacks and drinks are unlimited. Sitting by the floor-to-ceiling window watching the sea while drinking coffee is a kind of free happiness that only a few understand 👌. The hotel has an indoor heated pool and a 24-hour gym 🏊‍♀️. I swam for half an hour every morning before breakfast, and felt refreshed all day. Parents with kids can check out the family sea view suite, which has a special small bed for children with themed decorations. Kids will definitely be thrilled 👶. I really didn’t want to leave. It's often called the "Oriental Disneyland," but in reality, it's a true dream factory where you can experience a fairytale kingdom and a futuristic carnival in a single day. 8 worlds – 8 different moods The park is vast (470,000 m²) and is divided into 8 themed zones: Discovery Square, Crazy City, Mysterious Desert, Metal Factory, Magical Forest, Legendary Castle, Wedding Hall, and American Street. Each zone has its own architecture and atmosphere, making for magical photos. I recommend starting your route counterclockwise – first hitting the most popular attractions, and then returning to these zones in the evening for a more leisurely stroll when the crowds thin out. Adrenaline rush and a kid's paradise: must-see attractions For thrill-seekers, this is a true paradise: Crazy Cobra is one of only three pneumatic rocket coasters in the world. 📍Accommodation: 1️⃣ Grand Hyatt Dalian (recommended). Located next to Xinghai Square, it has a great view—you can see the cross-sea bridge as soon as you open the window. The pool has a stunning 180° ocean view (Image 2). Cost: CNY 1,280/night. 2️⃣ Xulai Laiqi Seaview Resort Hotel (average). It's a 7-minute walk to Lingjiao Bay. The ocean-view room offers a sunrise view (Image 3). In early May, the sunrise position is in the northeast and is blocked by land. A downside is that after sunrise, the sun shines directly into the room; it was 20°C outside but over 30°C inside, and we couldn't even turn on the air conditioning 😅. Cost: CNY 1,290 for 2 nights. 📍Dining: 1️⃣ Riyuesheng (avoid). The driver recommended it for its high value, but after eating, I have one thing to say: it was terrible, just pure pre-made food. The dishes weren't even hot. My friend and I were speechless after our first meal like this, and we almost lost all expectations for the next few days. Cost: CNY 270 for 2 people. 2️⃣ Yingmu Qianhe (recommended). Cost: CNY 730 for 2 people. 3️⃣ Xiding (recommended). The signature dish is sea urchin dumplings, which are juicy and incredibly fresh. The shrimp soup with rice, which includes crispy fried rice, is delicious. The linden honey marinated shrimp has a unique flavor; I didn't like it, but my friend loved it. The sauce tastes like honey mixed with mustard—sweet and spicy—and the shrimp is raw (Image 5). Cost: CNY 362 for 2 people. 4️⃣ Wuxian Xiaxiang (recommended). This was recommended by another driver, and it was delicious! I suggest skipping the Fengguang Street location and going directly to the other, larger, newly opened branch on the map. We ordered the signature crab, salt and pepper mantis shrimp, and salt and pepper corn (Image 6), all of which were excellent. The mantis shrimp were plump and full of roe! Adding noodles to the signature crab dish and coating them in the sauce was absolutely intoxicating. Cost: CNY 206 for 2 people. 5️⃣ Xiansheng Sheng Sushi (recommended). Also a Japanese restaurant. I recommend the foie gras sushi! It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; one bite and you get warm, liquid, savory, and oily goodness (Image 7). Cost: CNY 338 for 2 people. 6️⃣ Zhenghuangqi Seafood BBQ (recommended). The spoon worm rice, spicy shrimp noodles, and steamed scallops with garlic are all delicious. The sauce from the spicy shrimp on the noodles is super fragrant (Image 8). The restaurant even gave us a cute little charm. 7️⃣ Big cherries (recommended). In early May, big cherries are everywhere. We bought them starting at CNY 30 per jin and went up to CNY 45 per jin, and they kept getting bigger. The ones at CNY 45 per jin were even bigger than the largest cherries I've ever eaten. 📍Activities 1️⃣ Xinghai Square (recommended on sunny days). You can take photos with seagulls, and on sunny evenings, you can ride the small roller coaster. It's quite windy and still pretty cold in May, so you'll need a jacket (Image 9). 2️⃣ Lianhuashan Observation Deck cable car (recommended). Take a taxi to the Lianhuashan Observation Deck, take the sightseeing bus up the mountain, and take the cable car down. The scenery is stunning (Image 10). 3️⃣ Binhai West Road wooden boardwalk (recommended). After coming down from Lianhuashan, walk along the observation deck, passing Jinshatan, Yinshatan, and Fujiazhuang Park. The only downside is that the seawater has a strong fishy smell (Image 11). 4️⃣ Bangchuidao Scenic Area (highly recommended). You need to buy a ticket, but the scenery is much better than at Jinshatan, and the seawater doesn't smell. Walking along the coast from Bangchuidao Scenic Area to Haiyuyun Park, the mountain path is blocked by wire fences, but you can go around it. You need to follow the route on the "Liangbulu" app, otherwise, it's easy to get lost (Image 12). On the way, you'll pass "Shengxiang," which has a small path leading to it; the scenery is great and very photogenic (Image 13). After coming out, walk along the wooden boardwalk to Xuri Square. You can't get a taxi there; you have to keep walking north along the Binhai Strange Slope and Shibapan to the North Gate to get a taxi. This section is basically downhill. There is a short uphill section that is very beautiful, with the vast sea in the background. When we walked there in the afternoon, the sunlight was shining on the road, making it very photogenic (Image 14). 5️⃣ Gangdong 5th Street (recommended). You can take a taxi directly to the "Gangdong 5th Street Check-in Point" on the map. We went late and missed the big ship, but the scenery was still beautiful (Image 15). 6️⃣ Lingjiao Bay (average). You can take photos of Fisherman's Wharf. The air quality wasn't great on the morning we went, so the houses looked gray and hazy (Image 16). 7️⃣ Oriental Venice Water City (not recommended). It's just an ordinary commercial street, and the photos are average. If you want to buy fridge magnets, remember to bargain. Overall, Dalian is a place with a lot to offer. Although dining and accommodation are a bit expensive, taxis are quite cheap. I'd love to come back if I have the chance 🥰
