Levanto travel guide and discussion

Traveling solo in Italy? You can't miss Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. These five colorful villages perched on cliffs overlooking the azure Ligurian Sea feel like stepping into a storybook! Whether you're here for the perfect shot or a leisurely seaside stroll, it's the ultimate Southern European romance. Here is your ultimate guide to a one-day trip to Cinque Terre! ✨ The Highlights and Must-See Spots of the Five Villages Monterosso: Home to the largest and flattest beach in Cinque Terre. It's the perfect spot to kick off your shoes, wade in the water, and soak up the sun. Total vacation vibes! Vernazza: Often called the most charming village. With its bustling pier and ancient castle, a hike up the trail behind the town offers that iconic postcard view of the colorful houses and harbor. Corniglia: Perched 100 meters high on a cliff, this is the only village not directly on the water. It’s the quietest and least crowded, featuring beautiful Italian terraces and rustic scenery. (Note: It’s a 382-step climb from the station, or you can take the shuttle.) Manarola: This is where you’ll find the internet’s most famous "postcard spot"! Head to the viewpoint near Nessun Dorma at sunset to capture the golden light hitting the colorful buildings. Riomaggiore: Walk through the tunnel from the station to find the famous rocky beach. The sight of massive black rocks against stacked colorful houses is visually stunning and perfect for photos. 🚄 Getting Around and Money-Saving Tips The best starting point for Cinque Terre is the La Spezia train station. Direct trains run from Florence, Pisa, and Milan to La Spezia. Best way between villages: The Cinque Terre Express. The villages are only 2–5 minutes apart by train, and the service is very frequent. Money-saving hack: I highly recommend buying the "Cinque Terre Card" at La Spezia station. It gives you unlimited train travel between La Spezia and Levanto for the day, free shuttle bus rides, and access to all hiking trails. It’s a total steal! Romantic sea route: The Ferry. If you want to see the cliffside villages from the water, take the ferry between April and November (all villages except Corniglia). It offers a breathtakingly different perspective of Cinque Terre. 💡 Pro Travel Tip: Since time is limited for a day trip, I suggest picking 3–4 villages to explore deeply (Vernazza and Manarola are must-sees). Save Manarola for sunset to get the best photos and the smoothest itinerary!

Levanto is one of my favourite places in Italy, not only is it beautiful and only minutes away from the Cinque Terre but it’s also more affordable than other nearby spots. I stayed a week here and everything is close to the old town - plenty of gorgeous cafes and eateries, a stunning beach, bike trails that offer a traffic free route through tunnels to Bonossola and only a 5 min train ride to the first of the 5 Cinque Terre Villages. It’s also not over ridden by tourists and felt calm and a bit of a haven from busier spots nearby. Highly recommend a visit to Levanto, Italy. #levanto #italy #italianriviera #cinqueterre

#EuropeanTravel #Italy #Levanto Location: Via Gaetano Semenza, 5, 19015 Levanto SP, Italy Admission: Free This is the beach in Levanto that I definitely want to visit again🌊 I recommend bringing a swimsuit and swimming. It's perfect if you come back after watching the sunset✨ Please note that it's not cold even if you swim until sunset in the summer! You get to see cute animal friends as a bonus:)

#EuropeanTravel #Italy #Levanto #LaSpezia There are five small towns in La Spezia, northern Italy, and Levanto was the best among them. I think it was better because there were fewer tourists than the other towns. You can get to the five towns by train or by trekking. If you go to Levanto, I recommend bringing a swimsuit and going to the Levanto beach. 🏊

#FlowerViewing Summer in Levanto, located on the Italian coast, is full of the scent of flowers. It's a happy experience to wander around a town where unnamed summer flowers are in full bloom. Colorful flowers welcome travelers. #Italy #Levanto #levanto #summer
