I started walking from the south. My favorite spot was The Mall, the promenade that stretches all the way to the Bethesda Fountain. It felt like I'd stepped into a Hollywood movie scene. The atmosphere made me want to put down my phone and appreciate the beauty around me instead. The cool thing about this place is that every step has meaning. Each area is meticulously designed, from the arched stone bridges to the natural-looking grassy hills. What I would recommend everyone do is buy a coffee and relax at Sheep Meadow. Watch people of diverse backgrounds enjoying life together. Some are jogging, some are reading books, and some groups are having fun picnics. It showed me another side of New York that is friendly and warm. If you're planning a trip, I say don't rush.
