Baggage allowance, date changes and refund rules can make a big difference. Looking back at THAI Airways' Mid-Year Escape Promotion, there were some attractive benefits, along with a few restrictions worth knowing about. The booking period ran until June 30, 2026, with travel available until July 31, 2026. Some routes also offered travel dates between September and November. 🌏 Where Could You Fly? The promotion covered several major destinations, including Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, London, Paris, Sydney, Melbourne, Jakarta, Mumbai and Dhaka. Japan and Australia would be particularly interesting choices for me. On longer trips like these, airfare can take up a significant part of the travel budget, so finding a good deal really helps. Still, I wouldn't assume a promotional fare is automatically the cheapest option. It's always worth comparing prices for your preferred travel dates. 🧳 What Was Included? One nice benefit was the checked baggage allowance. Economy Class passengers generally received one checked bag of up to 23 kg. I think that's a useful inclusion, especially for a week-long trip. Having checked baggage included means one less extra cost to worry about. Royal Orchid Plus members booking Economy Class W could also earn 25% of the actual miles flown. ⚠️ The Fare Rules Were Quite Strict This is the part I would pay the most attention to before booking. · Flight and date changes were not permitted. · Passenger name changes were not allowed, although spelling corrections could be made for a US$30 fee. · Tickets were non-refundable. · The maximum permitted stay was 14 days. For me, this type of fare makes more sense when travel dates are completely confirmed. If there's a chance your plans might change, I'd compare it with a slightly more expensive ticket that allows date changes or offers free cancellation. 💡 My Take on This Promotion When comparing flights, I don't just look at the headline price. I also consider baggage, total travel time, connections and ticket conditions. Getting checked baggage included with a full-service airline like THAI Airways is definitely a plus.
