🇨🇭 Cogwheel Train Ride to Mt Rigi

We visited Mount Rigi, which is often referred to as the "Queen of the Mountains", while we were in Lucerne since the journey was included in Swiss Rail Travel Pass. We first took a train from Lucerne's main train station (Luzern Bahnhof) to Arth-Goldau. The train ride took approximately 30 minutes. From Arth-Goldau, we took a cogwheel train which offered a scenic ascent to the top of Mount Rigi. The cogwheel train is unique because it uses a toothed rack rail in the center of the track, allowing it to climb steep gradients that conventional trains cannot manage.
