The contrast between the white mountain ridges and the clear blue sky was breathtaking. I was soothed by the charming snowman I made in the cold, and discovered a heart on the surface of frozen water—all special experiences unique to winter 🏔️☃️. At night, I visited the illuminated Kumamoto Castle, emitting a powerful yet mystical light. The sight of the castle undergoing restoration was moving, and I was overwhelmed by its beauty and power. It was a spectacular sight that allowed me to feel the depth of Japanese history and culture 🏯✨. Finally, I soothed my travel fatigue at Kurokawa Onsen, a hot spring resort nestled in the mountains. The open-air bath, surrounded by charming lanterns and a tranquil atmosphere, was a blissful experience that helped me forget my daily fatigue. The feeling of your chilled body gradually warming up after a soak in a hot spring is one of the best parts of a winter trip. ♨️ Of course, gourmet food is an essential part of any trip to Kumamoto! 🥩😋 From beautifully marbled yakiniku (grilled meat), to steak bowls with the perfect combination of meat and soft-boiled eggs, to colorful hamburgers packed with local ingredients, there was a ton of delicious food! The quality of the ingredients in each dish was outstanding, and they were so delicious they brought a smile to my face with every bite.
