Baoding Travel Guide (II): Church & West Street + Specialty Food

Following the previous guide, continue strolling 250m after leaving the Zhili Governor's Mansion, and you can reach Baoding Cathedral. It began construction in 1898 and is one of the most famous Catholic churches in Hebei Province. The Roman-style architecture is majestic and elegant. When we went, there was a wedding ceremony about to take place, the church was decorated simply but romantically, plain but warm, allowing people to purely feel the beauty of love. Sitting in the church, it seems to feel the precipitation of time, the inheritance of history, and the tolerance and love. Baoding's Catholic Church is in a separate courtyard, although it is in the downtown area, it has stood here for a hundred years in a low-key and restrained manner, as if allowing people to find themselves in the hustle and bustle of the world. After visiting Baoding Cathedral, continue walking a few hundred meters to West Street. It's a bit like Qianmen Dashilan in Beijing, but many shops haven't opened yet, and there are a few scattered ones. While walking and watching, I found that many shops on West Street are basically under renovation, and it is estimated that it will become more and more popular in the future. It should look better after the lights are on at night. West Street is very long, and you can see heart-shaped traffic lights when crossing the road, and there are small footprints on the ground.
