The ceiling of the Beijing Hotel has returned from the Xitan Hotel

Beijing Hotel's ceiling, the Beijing Xitan Hotel reopened on May 25th. On July 31st last year, Beijing experienced a once-in-a-century torrential rain, and the hotel lobby was destroyed by the mudslide triggered by the rain. After nearly a year of renovation, the hotel has now returned with a brand new look. I stayed at the hotel as one of the earliest guests before the official opening this weekend, and I must say that after nearly a year of renovation, the Xitan Hotel is even more beautiful. It still features the traditional architecture with gray tiles and antique charm, and the exquisite garden constructed with stone mining and water cascading. What's different is that the flood channel in front of the lobby, which was once hit by the torrential rain, has now been completely transformed and reinforced and designed into a new stacked waterfall (Picture 7), which is very dynamic under the cover of green pines. Entering the lobby, the huge enamel color mural 'Blossom' by a Belgian artist still catches the eye. What's different is that the reception desk in the lobby has been changed to a custom-made stone piece, which can handle check-ins for two people at the same time. The hotel is still private and quiet overall. The guest rooms of Xitan are themed with 'Cui,' including a total of 10 courtyards with 38 rooms such as Cuihan, Lancui, and Yicui, each with a private hot spring. This time I stayed in room 5105, which has a viewing pavilion next to the soaking pool. The welcome gift is the Italian BABBI brand sandwich wafer 'Viennesi,' with two flavors: pistachio and dark chocolate. The hotel also has a tea room, meditation room, cafe, private cinema, gym, and the highest-end Chinese restaurant under the Xinrongji brand: Rongfu Banquet. I tried the latest nine-course menu, and ending with white truffle ice cream was absolutely amazing. The wallpaper of Rongfu Banquet has also been changed, it is a plum blossom pattern imported from London with spray painting and embroidery, which is much warmer than the previous cool-toned wallpaper. The biggest highlight of this reopening is the newly repaired swimming pool, which is now officially in use. The pool is located next to the gym, a constant temperature infinity pool with a simple and modern design, like a piece of emerald set in the hotel. The view here is very open, and you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Another place I love is the tea room 'Half is Green Mountain.' The outdoor moon-viewing platform of the tea room has a babbling stream, and the open mountain view is refreshing. Sitting here to enjoy the pine wind and moonlight is truly beautiful. The afternoon tea snacks in the tea room are also very delicious, all freshly baked (Picture 17). The 'Wunian·Whisky Bar' at night is also worth experiencing. The bar uses antique and haute couture furniture, and even the glasses are custom-made German luxury handmade Arnstadt crystal glasses. It is worth mentioning that the bar counter is handcrafted by Japanese artisans, and the height and curvature of the edge perfectly fit the ergonomics of the arm support when drinking whisky, making it very comfortable to sit here. The hotel's garden has also been adjusted on the previous basis. The garden design of Xitan was overseen by the Japanese garden master Nomura Kenji, and after careful carving, the landscape is even more beautiful. The hotel also has a new landscape, which is a huge rock that rushed down from the mountain during the 7·31 torrential rain, more than seven meters long. After the designer's cutting treatment, it was placed on one side of the wall in the conference room, becoming a unique landscape (Picture 18).
