Central Park in New York, Hyde Park in London, The Imperial Palace in Tokyo... A touch of green in the concrete jungle is not only a city's natural label, but also greatly enhances the comfort of the living environment. In Beijing's East Third Ring Road, adjacent to Chaoyang Park, Mr. Adrian Zecha, a legend in the hotel industry, with the concept of "simple yet elegant," has created a residence here that coexists harmoniously with nature— the MAHA Beijing Clubhouse and Executive Residences. Driving in the secluded MAHA Garden, designed with the "nature first" philosophy, the pouring sunlight made Pandy feel incredibly warm. Outside the window, the intertwined branches of the small winter forest performed a silent dance in a unique posture, as if it were a welcoming ritual. Arriving at our apartment by golf cart, the private butler enthusiastically introduced us to the apartment's features. The private elevator quickly reached the 29th and 30th floors, where the MAHA Clubhouse's restaurants, spa, and other facilities are located. The 260-meter-long floor-to-ceiling windows slowly unfolded the scenery outside, like a long and vivid scroll. Here, there is the Yunlü Restaurant, which offers Chinese and Western cuisine and 24-hour room service. In the multi-functional open-air dome meeting room, which can accommodate more than 50 people, we captured the golden rays of the setting sun. The main course of lamb chops was very tender, exuding aroma and juice after being cut. After dinner, we had a chocolate mousse full of fruity flavors while looking out at the bustling Beijing night scene, which had a unique charm. After a satisfying meal, we strolled upstairs. MAHA SPA provides healing for both body and mind. Various spa facilities are combined with technology. The SOMADOME space capsule meditation device from the United States, with its colorful light sources and soothing music after lying down, quickly brought Pandy into a meditative state. Then, entering the energy room with Himalayan salt crystals covering the walls, feeling the warmth and magnetic field, we adjusted ourselves to the best state. The clubhouse also has an indoor golf course and a rooftop swimming pool, but Pandy's favorite is the art exhibition hall "Li Xiang Space." The sunken pure white exhibition area becomes the best space for artworks and visitors to have a dialogue. Georgian artist Elena Chantladze's solo exhibition: "The Hermit's Words" explains that even ordinary peasant women, as long as they love their lives, can create anywhere, anytime. Here you can interact with classic IP characters such as MOLLY, LABUBU, and DIMOO. 2. Forest Area The Forest Area is LABUBU-themed and also my favorite area. It is a mysterious world full of fantasy. There are elf tree houses, warrior tribes, sand pits, and jumping clouds. 3. Lakeside Area There is a yacht called "Delicious Exploration" where you can enjoy exquisite desserts. 4. MOLLY Castle This is the core building of the park, divided into multiple floors: the first floor is the Trendy Play Collection and MOLLY Dollhouse; the second and third floors are themed restaurants with IP-featured cuisine; the basement floor is an immersive experience project called "Journey of Wishes," where you can experience the process of making trendy toys up close.

This is my fifth time visiting the area around Yonghe Temple since turning 30. I highly recommend this super artistic Citywalk route to experience the literary atmosphere of old Beijing architecture, hutongs, culture, and cuisine. The entire walk takes 2–4 hours (recommended shops included). You can do it without spending much money, perhaps enjoying hot pot or noodles, a cup of coffee, or simply strolling—it's up to you. The artistic Citywalk route 🚶🏻‍♂️ forms a square on the map (Figure 2): 🚶🏻Yonghe Temple ➡️ Wudaoying Hutong ➡️ Guozijian Hutong🚶🏻 Stop 1️⃣: Yonghe Temple Visit Beijing's largest Tibetan Buddhist temple early in the morning. It's the most popular royal temple, and prayers here are said to be very effective! Free incense is available at the entrance. Authentic Yonghe Temple bracelets can be obtained at the temple's designated areas. There are three such locations in total. They are extremely popular, so expect long lines every day. Stop 2️⃣: Wudaoying Hutong A paradise for art lovers! The hutong alleys are home to numerous hidden gem shops, delicious food, and cafes, offering a blend of laid-back vibes and vibrant energy. Explore the small shops filled with interesting and novel items. Stop 3️⃣: Sixi Xiaopang Old Hen Chicken Soup Hot Pot (Wudaoying Branch) A famous hot pot restaurant in Wudaoying Hutong. Visitors should definitely experience hot pot in a traditional hutong courtyard. I ordered the chicken soup hot pot, and the flavor was exquisite. A bowl of this soup is incredibly warming in winter! I recommend the snowflake beef and Guizhou golden bamboo fungus. Stop 4️⃣: Inlet Bookstore A niche and artistic bookstore, quiet and calming. Enjoy the sunshine and watch people passing by in the hutong. Perfect for relaxing and reading. Stop 5️⃣: METAL HANDS Coffee No need for introductions—this is a popular cafe. With great lighting and a retro industrial style, it's a must-visit for coffee lovers! Stop 6️⃣: Fudair Eating Private Kitchen This small restaurant is both artistic and cozy. With an Instagram-worthy aesthetic and delicious food, you can order home-style private kitchen dishes that taste like grandma's cooking. You can also order sweet soup; the almond tofu is smooth, tender, and melts in your mouth. This place offers excellent value for money! Stop 7️⃣: Guozijian Hutong Also known as Chengxian Street, this 700-year-old hutong is the only preserved Paifang Street in Beijing. With red walls and gray tiles, the Confucius Temple is located on this street. It's a popular spot, so take your time and savor the atmosphere. Stop 8️⃣: Yuangu Main Store (Jianchang Branch) A hidden Chinese dessert shop tucked away in a hutong. It's been open for 10 years. The environment is incredibly relaxing, and the desserts are exquisite and layered with flavor. It's usually packed on weekend afternoons. Stop 9️⃣: Confucius Temple and Imperial College Museum The highest institution of learning during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, and the place where the imperial family worshipped and commemorated Confucius. Free admission for visitors under 18 and over 60. While not overly crowded, the picturesque scenery makes it worth a visit. 📝Travel Tips: 1️⃣Arrive at Yonghe Temple by 9 am and book tickets online in advance. 2️⃣Most small shops in Wudaoying Hutong don't open until 11 am, so don't go too early. 3️⃣Guozijian Hutong is best explored in the afternoon when the sunlight casts a beautiful glow on the ancient buildings. ⚠️Things to Avoid: 1️⃣Buy bracelets inside Yonghe Temple; those sold outside are mostly fake. 2️⃣Ignore the fortune tellers at the entrance!

The Forbidden City: This is a must-see in Beijing, also known as the Forbidden City, the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Walking between the red walls and yellow tiles, you feel as if you have traveled back in time. 2. Tiananmen Square: The largest city square in the world, the daily flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies are solemn and sacred. 3. The Great Wall (Badaling or Mutianyu): "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man." Badaling is the most famous section of the Great Wall, while Mutianyu is relatively more primitive and quiet. 4. The Summer Palace: A model of imperial gardens, the beautiful scenery of Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill is unforgettable. 5. Yuanmingyuan Ruins Park: Although Yuanmingyuan was destroyed by war, the ruins park still allows people to feel its former glory. 6. Nanluoguxiang: This is one of the most distinctive hutongs in Beijing, with a variety of snacks, handicraft shops, and literary shops. 7. 798 Art District: A gathering place for modern art, with various galleries, art exhibitions, and design studios that are eye-opening. 🍽️Food recommendations: • Peking duck: The roast duck from time-honored brands such as Quanjude and Bianyifang is crispy and tender, and very delicious. • Zhajiangmian: A bowl of authentic Beijing-style zhajiangmian, with chewy noodles and rich sauce. • Douzhi with jiaoquan: This is a traditional Beijing breakfast, with the unique sour taste of douzhi paired with crispy jiaoquan, it has a unique flavor. • Lamb hot pot: In cold weather, a steaming hot pot of lamb is simply delicious. 🚗Transportation: Beijing has a very developed public transportation system, with subways, buses, taxis, and other transportation options to choose from. Moreover, Beijing's attractions are relatively concentrated, and many can be reached by subway or bus. 🏨Accommodation: It is recommended to stay near Qianmen or Wangfujing, as these two places not only have convenient transportation, but also many unique hotels and homestays, allowing you to better experience the atmosphere of Beijing. Tips: • When traveling to Beijing, it is recommended to plan your itinerary in advance, especially for popular attractions such as the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. It is best to book tickets online in advance. • Beijing has four distinct seasons, with spring and autumn being the best seasons for travel, but summer and winter also have their own unique charm. • When visiting attractions, be sure to protect cultural relics and do not graffiti in scenic areas.

Seeing the Great Wall is a must-do if you come to China. The wall is so long but the best spots to visit are definitely near Beijing. I would highly suggest going during off-peak travel times, weekdays, and avoid any national holidays completely! It can get very busy so if you'd like some uninterrupted walking, nice photo opportunities, and a chance to explore on your own time please take my advice and avoid crowded days. You can get there by booking a bus from the city which costs about 80RMB, I highly suggest this option. When my friends and I went we ended up having to take a DiDi there and back which ended up being 700RMB each way! It was about an hour and a half drive but if you leave during rush hour, it can even take up to 4 hours to get back to the city so beware! We chose to go to the Mutianyu gate which is just one of the entrances into the Great Wall, my friends who have been to several gates say this is the best one for your first time (and if it will possibly be your only time visiting). Once you arrive there are a couple of things you have to pay for such as a shittle bus to and from the ticket booths to the wall, (80RMB), a ski lift up to the wall (optional but worth it 120RMB), and the 120 RMB ticket also includes a toboggan ride down the wall which was so fun and totally worth it too. The views are incredible and the historical and cultural significance is overwhelming. As someone who has been fascinated with Chinese culture and history for a long time it was a dream come true and blew away all of my already high expectations. Come prepared to walk and climb lots of stairs so wear comfortable shoes and clothing if you're smart! There are some tourist traps for sure like super expensive souvenirs and men dressed as soldiers who charge extremely high prices just for a picture but otherwise it is lovely. It seems like a given that no trip to China in complete without visiting the nation's capital. While attractions like the great wall of China and Universal Studios are worth your while, there's also so much to do in the city itself. Aside from having a thriving nightlife, awesome food, and the best shopping in China: Beijing has the true heart and culture of China ready for you to explore. A trip to Beijing is incomplete without seeing Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden Palace. Here you can walk the same streets that emperors, princesses, and noblemen have walked centuries before. In this area you are transported back in time and are able to witness history. It is incredible to think of all the people that have passed through these streets, walked through these gates, and gazed at the same walls. In the fall you can spend countless hours walking around Sanlitun and experience the best shopping China has to offer. They have all of the International and domestic brands you'd want to check out. If you're here and have a craving for Western food check out many of the chain restaurants like Red Lobster or check out El Barrio for some authentic Mexican food that's delicious and reasonably priced (don't miss taco Tuesday). They’ve got half off tacos: 3 come to around 40RMB. You can't forget to have Beijing Duck when you're there too. While there are several fancy looking restaurants, the real deals are the hole in the wall spots that have been doing this for decades and don't change their recipe (or tables clearly). The place might not look as pretty but the food is always more delicious. My top recommendation is Li Qun roast duck restaurant. You won't be disappointed, trust me!
