Witness a sunrise over Erhai Lake

🌄 Every visitor to Dali makes it a point to visit Erhai Lake, and the Longkan Wharf by the lake is an excellent spot to watch the sunrise. Most of the guesthouses nearby have large glass windows that allow guests to watch the sunrise without leaving the comfort of their rooms. 🌈 Highlight: The sunrise in Dali is around 6:40 AM, but due to the mountains, the actual 'egg yolk' sun won't be visible until after 7 AM, so there's no need to wake up too early. The crowd gathers on the platform area, which is not too crowded, and after the sunrise, you can go back to sleep in the guesthouse and have breakfast later, which is perfect. 🍜 Cuisine: The people of Dali live a leisurely life, and the breakfast at the guesthouses starts at 9 AM, with freshly made rice noodles. There are also some snack stalls in the surrounding alleys selling breakfast. 🚗 Transportation: Vehicles are not allowed at the wharf, but there are bicycles and electric scooters for rent exclusive to the scenic area, and even cute dog-shaped cars that are quite stylish to ride and great for taking photos. 🐶 Pet-Friendly: Since vehicles are not allowed, many people bring their pets here, and some stall owners even bring their dogs to attract business. Life is not easy, and dogs perform to earn their keep. 🅿️ Parking: Tourists who come by chartered car or self-driving can only park in the parking lots around the perimeter of the wharf, which are several in number. It's only a five or six-minute walk to Longkan Wharf, which is quite convenient. ✨ Tips: Guesthouses often offer car rental or charter services, but they tend to be more expensive than finding a driver on your own. Starting from the parking lot at Longkan Wharf and taking the west route to the bridge for photos also allows for close contact with Erhai Lake. Along the way, there are vendors selling fresh flowers and balloons, and some even set up tables, chairs, drinks, and flowers by the beach to attract tourists for photo opportunities.
