Changsha Du Zheng Street

Strolling along Changsha Du Zheng Street, located on the south side of Jiefang Road in the western part of Furong District in Changsha City, is one of the historical and cultural old streets of Changsha. Inside the street is the Xiuye School, a memorial site for Comrade Mao Zedong's early revolutionary activities. Du Zheng Street is also the name of a sub-district office in the nearby Furong District, with the administrative area named after the street. The boundaries of the Du Zheng Street sub-district office are as follows: east to Furong Road, west to Cai E South Road, north to Jiefang West Road, and south adjoining Tianxin District. On the west side of Du Zheng Street is Qianzong Alley, named after the Qing Dynasty's Qianzong Office stationed in this alley, where Qianzong was a sixth-rank military officer. Qingxiangliu Alley is located on the east side of Du Zheng Street, where in the past one could reach Tianxin Pavilion through this alley. In addition, there is the Changsha Gunpowder Bureau, which was the largest military munitions factory established by the Qing government in Hunan during the suppression of the Taiping Army. Open all year round for free. When we visited, it happened to be a rainy day, and strolling with an umbrella was also a unique experience😄
