Absolutely gorgeous mountain temple.

There are two ways to reach this Buddhist temple. The first is by driving, and the second is by taking a cruise, which takes about 20 minutes from Soyanggang Dam. Both ways are good, but I recommend the cruise. The hiking trail to the peak gets pretty tough higher up, including many near vertical sections of rock face with ropes to pull yourself up. The hike up to the temple is also filled with Japanese Maples, tiny waterfalls, and statute.( as shown in pictures) which tell a story of the mythical creatures that used to inhabit the land. But the view is incredible and very much worth the effort. There are several vendors selling various dishes at the foot of the trail that are worth checking out and taking in the scenery. I hiked for about 30 minutes from the harbor to reach the temple,l Despite its 1,000 years of history associated with the Ching dynasty, the temple's size is not large.
