Lamma is an island around 45-60mins away by ferry from Central. There are two main ferry piers on the island; one on the northern shore and the other towards the middle of the island. The northern one, Yung Shue Wan, is more popular and busy. Nonetheless, it is quite common to go into one and leave from the other. As such, Lamma is a lovely island to go for a hike. There are various hiking trails and they bring you to different points of the island. They aren't difficult by any standards and you'll have restaurants and stores in the nearby villages. More importantly, Lamma island is great for seafood. It is extreme fresh and tasty and there'll be something for everyone. On the Sok Kwu Wan Pier, seafood restaurants line the street so you'll never be short of choice. Have a meal here in the outside overlooking the sea in a very comfortable setting. Overall Lamma is a great hop away from the busyness of HK. You'll be able to get some good hiking done while also eating great and fresh seafood.
