YES / BUT when traveling 💔 YES — admiring the sunrise that illuminates the majestic crater of Mount Bromo. BUT — waking up (or not sleeping at all) at 2 AM for it. YES — riding a scooter and exploring bucket-list locations on your own. BUT — wiping your face with a cotton pad in the evening and realizing your pores are so clogged with dust that no cleanser can save you from breakouts. YES — feeling the power of Indonesia's largest waterfall, which literally takes your breath away. BUT — first hiking down to it, and then climbing back up some incredibly sketchy stairs that will give you nightmares for a long time. YES — greeting the sunrise at the Ijen volcano crater and being absolutely blown away by the view of the acid lake. BUT — hiking uphill for several kilometers in pitch darkness among a crowd of equally sleepy tourists. YES — seeing that iconic view from Padar Viewpoint that has been printed on National Geographic posters for decades. BUT — climbing endless stairs with a leg you sprained the day before, making it worse, and ending the day in the hospital. Oh, right... And I absolutely love all of this. 💔😊
