Dali’s ginkgo trees, Shaxi’s morning mist These will probably be my forever obsession Some say you shouldn’t meet someone too stunning when you’re young Or you’ll spend a lifetime missing them The same goes for scenery, I suppose~ A winter morning in Shaxi Is like an Oriental ink painting slowly taking shape “Clouds and trees open to a clear dawn, the cold mountain hues hover in and out” A few strokes sketch the withered trees by the bridge, full of poetry The water plants on the shore are covered with thick frost From afar, it looks like a thin layer of snow, sparkling with tiny lights There aren’t too many people on Yujin Bridge, luckily it’s not noisy Maybe it’s too cold in the morning and cameras haven’t started working yet Or maybe everyone here has unconsciously chosen a low volume mode I love listening in this quietness To the babbling water, crisp bird calls, and the distant, intermittent crowing of roosters Vast fields and villages are shrouded in thick fog Taking a few steps on the path through the fields Feels like entering a maze, or walking toward the horizon When the dawn sunlight breaks through the mist The grass and trees are dyed clear orange, yellow, and green, the river reveals a calm blue The bleakness and passion of winter switch in this moment 【TIPS】 1️⃣ Shaxi sunrise is around 8:20 - 8:30, no need to get up too early 2️⃣ The ladies selling ginger tea and breakfast by the bridge seem to finish work around 8 o’clock, so warm up early if you want to stay cozy 3️⃣ Keep warm and protect against the sun; mornings are basically below freezing 4️⃣ Under the water plants might be mud or icy cold river water, don’t step in the wrong place, and don’t ask me how I know 5️⃣ Be safe when flying drones; if it gets stuck in the branches, it will most likely end up in the river; also watch out for the safety of the birds
