Xinmin Ancient Village, Jiaxing, Zhejiang

Xinmin Village is an ancient village with a history of 1,500 years, known for its rich historical relics and unique Jiangnan water town scenery. The village's history can be traced back to the Southern and Northern Dynasties, when the establishment of Xingshan Temple marked the origin of the village. Xingshan Temple was one of the early Buddhist temples in Jiangnan, and historically attracted many literati and scholars to visit, study, write poetry, and seek refuge. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Xingshan Temple became a gathering place for famous scholars and literati, leaving behind many poems and works. Today, Xinmin Village retains a large number of ancient buildings and historical relics, such as the Shen Family Old House, Guandi Temple, and Xianghua Bridge, which bear witness to the village's long history and cultural heritage. The main attractions of Xinmin Village include Xingshan Temple Old Street, Xingshan Temple Site, Old Street Folk Park, Guandi Temple, Xianghua Bridge, and the Sericulture Breeding Culture Museum. Visitors can explore these attractions to learn about the village's history and culture. In addition, Xinmin Village offers handicraft experience activities, such as making lacquer fans and weaving, allowing visitors to create their own souvenirs and experience the charm of traditional crafts. It is one of the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages.
