Pavilion of Prince Teng

Pavilion of Prince Teng is located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, situated at the confluence of the Gan River and the old course of the Fu River on the east bank of the Gan River. It is a landmark building of Nanchang and a symbol of the ancient civilization of Yuzhang. It was first built in the fourth year of the Yonghui period of the Tang Dynasty and became famous worldwide due to the 'Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng' written by the early Tang poet Wang Bo. Along with Yueyang Tower in Hunan and Yellow Crane Tower in Hubei, it is known as one of the 'Three Great Towers of the South of the Yangtze River' and is one of the four great towers of ancient China, one of the 'Ten Famous Historical and Cultural Towers of China', and is acclaimed as 'the foremost tower on the Xijiang River'.
