Tianxiang Garden

Tianxiang Garden is located on Nanda Avenue in Qingshan Lake, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, formerly known as Xihu Gardening Field. Established in 1976, it covers an area of 112 mu and currently has more than 30,000 pots of various sizes of bonsai, and cultivates over 26,000 plants and trees. It is the largest base of Gan-style bonsai and flower base in Jiangxi Province. The garden also features antique buildings such as a tea art gallery and Yunquan calligraphy and painting studio. Since 1998, experts from the European Union have conducted monitoring in Tianxiang Garden for several consecutive years. In 2000, Tianxiang Garden was designated by the EU as an 'Urban Migratory Bird Ecological Environment Research Base'. Tianxiang Garden covers an area of 84 hectares. In areas with minimal human disturbance, trees such as Chinese fir, betel nut, Chinese elm, and broussonetia act as the dominant species, forming a semi-natural, semi-artificial plant community that combines grass, shrub, and tree layers, and provides a good habitat for birds. The plant community and bird species in Tianxiang Garden have merged into a unique 'bird, city, ecology' system, as if naturally formed. The garden is widely planted with trees and cultivated with flowers, maintaining a good natural environment that attracts a large number of birds. During peak periods, there are as many as 32 species and over 50,000 birds, earning it the nickname 'Bird Paradise'. There are more than 30 species of wild migratory birds, with hundreds of thousands of individuals.
