#travel Itinerary template content (content contest)The journey into Armenia became very interesting with its beautiful mountain landscapes. Yerevan is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. From the city, Mount Ararat can be clearly seen covered in snow, even though the mountain is actually located in Turkey. This mountain holds great importance in Armenian history and culture. Many of the old buildings in the city are also influenced by Russian and European architecture. Armenia is also known as the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as its official religion. However, the country’s history is also quite tragic, as it experienced colonization and the ethnic tragedy known as the Armenian Genocide. Armenia was also once part of the Soviet Union. On the second day, I started my visit at Tsitsernakaberd. This memorial is very important in Armenian history as it commemorates the tragedy experienced by the Armenian people. In the underground museum of the memorial, there is a great deal of historical information about Armenians who were killed during the Armenian Genocide. Next, I visited the Cascade Complex, located in the city center. This is one of the must-visit places in Yerevan. There are also many cafés along the walking street near the complex, creating a very lively and pleasant atmosphere. I also visited the Mother Armenia Monument, which is located on a hill. From here, visitors can clearly see the city of Yerevan as well as Mount Ararat. At night, the area around Republic Square becomes very lively with lights and people strolling around. On the third day, I joined a day tour to Lake Sevan and the old town of Dilijan, which I booked through Trip.com. The weather around Lake Sevan was quite cold, and there is an old church located near the lake. However, the rain and low temperature throughout the day made the visit a little challenging.

A trip to the Caucasus countries in May was undoubtedly a perfectly timed and romantic encounter. The comfortable and pleasant temperature, with a cool 20 degrees Celsius, avoided the sweltering heat of midsummer. Occasional light showers swept across the valleys, casting a gentle, hazy filter over the entire land, making this cross-border journey exceptionally pleasant.
