Zhao's Mansion is the separate residence of Zhao Erxun, the late Qing Dynasty governor of the three eastern provinces, in Shenyang. Originally a three-section compound, now only this Siheyuan remains. The courtyard has five rooms each in the main house and the east and west wing-rooms, all built with green tiles and green brick walls, both quaint and unique. The courtyard is planted with hawthorn and peach trees, full of greenery, with just-formed green fruits in summer. Two fat rabbits and a little kitty run around everywhere. The slightly gloomy weather is actually more suitable for photography, and there are fewer tourists. The style of the Republic of China era matches even better. (The east wing-room in the courtyard is now rented by a photography studio, available for booking photo sessions.) Zhao's Mansion is still under renovation, and in the future, some cultural relics will be exhibited, but now it mainly serves as a place to appreciate the architecture of the Siheyuan. The mansion can also be described as a coffee shop, where buying coffee exempts you from the entrance fee, and there is a wide variety of coffee tastes to enjoy. Inside the house, seating is limited, but the large open space at the entrance and the corridors within the Siheyuan are more comfortable, especially the corridors on rainy days, which have a flavor of their own. Zhao's Mansion is located inside the west gate of Wanliutang Park, and the area opposite the courtyard is also lush and green. There is a parking lot on the side, 2 yuan/hour.
