I visited Maison Meiji for the second time to try their latest izakaya.

I don't think this place is unfamiliar to everyone. I've been there before for fine dining, and the quality was excellent. So when I heard that they finally reopened for quarantine, we went to try it out again~ As usual, the decor is classical, and the izakaya has a long bar counter design, so you can watch the chef prepare the food. As for the food, there is currently only a single item menu available, so there aren't too many options to choose from. 📍Grilled Eel The eel is plump and meaty without any bones, and it's grilled to a crispy outer layer~ 📍Handmade Chicken Meat Stick This is a must-order item every time we go to the izakaya. The chicken meat and cartilage are in perfect proportion, and the chicken meat remains juicy and flavorful. The texture is also great, and dipping it in the egg sauce makes it even smoother~ 📍Grilled Snow Crab Shell The crab meat and roe are savory and sweet, with a rich and intense flavor. Eating it with the codfish flakes is just right. 📍Wagyu Beef Sandwich: Thick-cut wagyu beef sandwiched between toasted bread. The beef is crispy and delicious, and the meat is fragrant, rich, and juicy. The bread absorbs the beef's oil and secret sauce, making the taste more layered. 📍Kagoshima Pork Roll Grilled Rice Ball It's more upscale than you might imagine~ The rice ball is wrapped in Kagoshima black pork and then grilled. The pork is crispy and not greasy, while the rice ball is soft and fragrant. With their special sauce, it's sweet and delicious. You can also eat it with the lettuce they provide to balance out the greasiness of the pork.
