The crowds really spoil the atmosphere, so it's best to avoid weekends and public holidays, and aim to be among the first to enter the garden early in the morning. Start by following the main route indicated by the signs, then wander around corners you haven't visited before. The pavilions, terraces, towers, green bricks, black tiles, and small bridges over flowing water are all worth savoring slowly.
